Pros:

easy to absorb
light but very moisturizing
makes my skin healthy and supple

Cons:

none

I purchased the entire regimen last year and two months after using it, my acne never came back! It was such a miracle that I did not need to keep using the regimen. I was not impressed by this moisturizer at that time so I returned to my old, expensive moisturizer. Recently, my old moisturizer starts drying me out so I decided to use this moisturizer (I still left some when I stopped using the regimen last year) under my regular creme to add extra moisture. I'm so glad I did!!! The moisturizer is very light and easy to absorb (2 pump is too much for me so I use 1 pump each time, maybe that's why it's much easier to sink in my skin than before). I also gently massage until it's fully absorbed. OMG!!! It makes my skin supple and glow naturally without leaving any yellow stain or a greasy feeling! I love how it works on my skin and I'll continue purchasing this product.

Pros:

Moisturizes well
Easy application
Doesn't break skin out
Fairly lightweight

Cons:

Stings a bit in the beginning
Takes a while to absorb (b/c your putting a lot on your face
Greasy, therefore sticky feeling

This moisturizer is a good moisturizer for acne but I think it could be a little bit better! It definitely moisturizes and it's very easy to apply. However, the biggest con, in my opinion, is the greasiness that comes with the it. No matter how long you leave it to dry on your face, my face is consistently greasy and sticky and it's probably (I'm pretty sure) because of the jojoba oil. Taking a while to absorb isn't a HUGE deal because if you think about it, you're putting 1-2 pumps and that's a lot of moisturizer; you can't really complain about that. This slight stinging is manageable b/c it's temporary but the greasiness is quite bothersome. But overall it's not a bad moisturizer! I would, however, consider looking into other moisturizers to supplant.

Pros:

Moisturizes well
Very light feel when applying
soothing
does not;clog pores at all
Makes my skin look great

Cons:

None

This is the only moisturizer that i have actually enjoyed having on my face. Every other one i have tried has made me feel clogged and greasy. This does not make me feel like that at all, it actually feels good to have on my face. It could be a little more moisturizing for some people but for my skin it is perfect.

Pros:

Light
Non-greasy
No foul smell or taste (in case someone might kiss it off and notice)
Absorbs fairly fast
Gentle

Cons:

Not all that hydrating
Does not help flakes at all

I like this stuff for how simple it is. I feel like I could put this on at any time because it never shows if you put it on light and let it soak in. I never find it greasy or leaves any residue or feel of any kind, I think it actually makes my skin tone slightly better after applying it. It has no taste so if someone kisses it off or you eat and had it on your lips there is no worry. Sadly, I'm not sure how effective it is either. Sure if has less major flaws moisturizers tend to have and it doesn't break me out but it also doesn't moisturize extremely well and is useless on flakiness. Good for over-all, bad for dry patches of skin.

New formula

I have used the regimen faithfully  for 10 years. I struggled with acne through my teens and 20s until I started using the acne.org regimen / products in my early 30s.  Simply put, It changed my life, and I am truly grateful. I have never commented on anything until now, and I feel bad giving a less favorable review after all these years of using a product that has done so much good for my life.  As soon as the licochalcone was swapped out, I started having several problems. I have stuck with it now for many months and I still struggle.  My face is often red and itchy. I get that burning sensation more often after application. I appear to break out more, possibly from some extra irritation. I've also been getting small hot spot rashes that seem like little eczema patches (have never had this before). Ive been struggling more with dry weather changes, having extremely dry and irritated flaky skin. I am also noticing faster wrinkle formation that may correlate with my struggles.  Overall my skin feels more consistently inflamed and irritated, which is frustrating after 10 years of being satisfied. It is as if it just doesn’t counteract the negative effects of BP as well as it used to. Even though I actually liked the feel and yellow tint of the old formula, I really don’t care about how a moisturizer feels, smells, or looks, as long as it works. I should say that I also regularly used the AHA, but that also appears to have had the licochalcone swapped out and the irritation is even worse when I use it. More recently (after trying to acclimate), I have been trying less BP, more moisturizer, more jojoba oil, etc to try and find a good combo for me, but have not had success yet. Note that there are no other obvious changes in my life that might have this impact. If nothing else has changed (excipients, ratios of excipients, etc)  for BP or moisturizer, then i am very suspicious of the licochalcone swap specifically. I am curious if even ratios of other excipients have changed recently, I am also curious if the BP excipient ratios have changed or if there is a batch or two that has elevated BP.   I have not tried any other moisturizer with the regimen, but I’m considering trying others. As a biotech drug discovery scientist who works in formulation development among other things (not making this up), I remain open to the possibility that an unknown variable other than the licochalcone change is the source of my problems. I also understand that my single anecdotal experience holds little weight, so I would encourage others to rate and review (good or bad) so that product decisions are made with the most accurate information possible. Perhaps a separate/new product review that doesn’t mix reviews with the old formula would be helpful. I am very curious if most people are having success with the change, which might help me understand if my problems truly are the moisturizer or not. Having both versions of the old and new moisturizer and AHA is probably the best option from a customer point of view (people appear to be more split on moisturizers in general than they are about the cleanser and BP treatment; perhaps a single moisturizer doesn't fit all skin types?)  but I understand that may not be possible from a business point of view. Also, I understand if there are supply and financial issues at play driving the switch, I guess not a lot you can do there. Again, I am truly grateful for the past decade, and I hope to continue use into the future.

Average, but not Great
Because everyone's skin is different, it is impossible to judge whether this moisturizer will work for you. In my case, the moisturizer provided everything as advertised in the first few weeks. However, every day after that I felt no relief at all and eventually stopped using it entirely. For those on the Regimen, it's best to use this until you are almost perfectly clear and then switch to a different moisturizer. I would recommend using Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream as it synergizes well with the Regimen and is priced in the same range as this one. The common complaint of "shininess" and "yellow coloring" can be argued for but are easily dealt with using a thin paper towel. Other than these two issues, I didn't feel any other side effects. To sum things up, if you have struggled with dry skin in the past, pass this up. For those whose skin is oily, I cannot speak on your behalf and wouldn't know the results for your skin type. For those who never have to worry about dryness, this product will probably work more favorably for you.

Turned my face orange

Pros:

Soothing
Moisturizing

Cons:

The yellow color

I loved everything about this moisturizer - it was cooling and calming on my skin on top of the BP, wasn't too greasy, easy to spread, and kept my skin moisturized - HOWEVER, the big downfall is the yellow coloring which turned my face orange. It wasn't even a tan look, I looked ORANGE. I'm quite fair (lighter than a MAC NC15 for reference) so having the look of an orange face against a very pale chest... that's not cute.
