Allergic to jojobaoil
I tried the acne.org moisturizer in the very beginning and my skin got red, itchy, swollen and burnt as hell! So I stopped and had tried the jojobaoil and exactly the same happened. So I did a little recherche and find out that a lot of people are allegic to jojobaoil. So I think it is not only the Butylene Glycol which makes problems to some peoples`skin, but also the jojobaoil. And there`s a lot of it in the moisturizer.

Not Great
I'm glad I got the travel size of this to start out with, as this moisturizer left me with horrible alligator skin and a terrible burning sensation when applied after the BP. (To put this in perspective, not even the AHA burns my skin when it's applied after the BP.) It never seemed to fully absorb and instead seemed to sit on top of my skin, leaving a somewhat greasy feeling yet not combating the flakiness, and adding a couple drops of jojoba oil to it only left me greasier. I did not have issues with it turning my skin yellow as other people have talked about, but I didn't use it that long due to the other side effects. Honestly, this stuff left me wanting to rip the skin off and it seemed to cause more acne for me... Neither this nor the jojoba oil will go anywhere near my face again.

Doesn't Hydrate
I used this everyday and it worked fine until a few weeks ago. My skin still looks flaky and crusty everywhere even near my eyes and its mortifying. The dryness doesn't seem to go away. Its pretty disgusting. Love the other products but definitely done with this one.

There are better altenatives
There are better moisturizers than this for the regime out there. This kept my skin moisturize for maybe an hour at most.

Pros:

Unscented.
Very gentle, suitable for sensitive skin.
Less chemicals than many other brands of moisturizers.
No parabens.

Cons:

TRIETHANOLAMINE

The moisturizer lives up to its purpose as a calming lotion. It is very very gentle. It feels nice to put on and a good base if you want to add more oils to it. However, it contains TRIETHANOLAMINE! It is also called TEA. It is an ingredient in many drugstore and chemical-laden products. Please read up on TEA. I have doubts about using it two pumpfuls every time. Skin does absorb substances into our body. This lotion is a 'continuous use' application as opposed to 'rinse off'. A better substitute to triethanolamine would be good.

Pros:

Doesn't break out my skin

Cons:

Yellow color is too noticeable
Takes a long time to dry
Difficult to wear under makeup

I was excited that Dan was putting out a new formula but I've tried this for three months and I've found that I can only use it at night. It is too greasy for day time use and the yellow color is noticeable when I use a lot of it. I've used acne.org moisturizer since 2008 and now I'm having to change :(

Why did the formula change?

Similar to many other reviews here, I have been an avid Acne.Org regimen user for the better part of a decade. It is the ONLY cleanser, moisturizer, and treatment I have used since 2014, and that is not an exaggeration (I briefly tried a Cetafil cleanser to save money for about a month and my acne came back so I returned to the regimen and never looked back). After seeing everyone else's reviews here, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is having issues with the new moisturizer's formulation. I just opened a new bottle of the moisturizer after finishing a bottle with the old (yellow) formula. I initially thought I got sent a mislabeled bottle of the Benzoyl Peroxide because that was the look and consistency of the new moisturizer. I put it on and it was sticky, so strongly scented, and burned. And not like sometimes my skin burns because I put my treatment on too quickly after showering, like felt like a chemical peel BURNED for hours. My skin burned and felt so tight and dry that I was convinced I applied a heaping amount of Benzoyl Peroxide and not moisturizer. I don't know what happened or why the formula was changed but it is so so so incredibly disappointing after having felt like I found the holy grail in the old yellow formula. If the creators are reading the reviews (and I would hope they are) PLEASE consider offering the old formulation as an option to your loyal customers. I have such incredibly sensitive, acne-prone skin that the slightest change in my skincare routine will send my skin into a downward spiral which is why I can assure you, not a THING in my routine has changed within the past 2 years or so (had to add in some anti-wrinkle serums, hi thirties!) to make this moisturizer behave the way it did on my skin, unless something drastic happened within the formulation. Please creators, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring the old version back as an option. I'm quite literally BEGGING.

(I'm also editing to add in that when I started using these products in 2014, I read on this website that the yellow color was because of the licorice root being used in these products and to beware of moisturizers that are white in color because it means the moisturizer has been unnecessarily altered to have a whiter color. Seems odd that now the moisturizer is white...?)
