Acne.org : Moisturizer with Licochalcone (OLD)

i apply a minimal amount of moisturiser, the baaaare minimum, wait for it to absorb, apply my make up, looks great then WHAM, within a couple hours my face is the shiny show. honestly? i hate it ¬ ¬ this is definitely recommended to those with dry skin, but for us with oily skin, it's literally frying pan to fire.

I loved the old formulation of the moisturizer, but absolutely cannot use this one. I seem to have developed a sensitivity to the licorice root, as I can't use the AHA now, either. I know a lot of people love this stuff, but it sounds like there are a number of us who can't use it. Please, please, please give us the option of purchasing the old moisturizer, too! There is just nothing else on the market that is so gentle and moisturizing.

New formula causes an allergic reaction (for me at least) please bring back the old formula.

this goes on silky smooth and leaves my skin feeling great without the greasy feeling and without drying up as the day goes on. i love it

Horrible, does not hydrate. DAN MAKE A WATER BASED SERUM LIKE TEXTURE please.. the rest of the products are amazing though.

Honestly, I don’t understand why they changed the formula of this. I’ve stopped using it for a year now as it aggravated my acne even more.

I am almost 33 and have been on the regimen since high school. I finally stopped wearing makeup on my face during COVID for good and was completely clear most of the time, finally, for what seemed to be the long haul. Then, I noticed the moisturizer became paler and paler each time I bought a new bottle, and thicker and thicker. I used to add drops of jojoba oil for extra moisturizing, and noticed the oil wouldn't mix in well. I absolutely hate the new formula and because of this I decided to go cold turkey in March and see if my skin could balance itself out since it had been doing so well since COVID. Almost 6 months in and my skin is broken out so bad, but I'm trying to push past it. If it doesn't get better on its own by the end of the year I am going to try a new routine, but it won't be from acne.org unless the old formula comes back. The old moisturizer formula was the holy grail of moisturizers. My skin looked so dewy and healthy. The new formula is so thick and doesn't absorb in, it just sits on top like a goopy paste and you can see white globs sitting on top of your skin from where it doesn't absorb in all the way. I. Hate. It. I used Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer for a little bit last fall, but didn't like it as much as the old formula so I switched back to the new formula hoping I could get used to it, but I just couldn't. It's terrible. Please change back to the old formula and I will buy your products again.

I have used it for years but the new white formula smell is old musty fragrance and not pleasing.

Like everyone else is saying, the new formula of the moisture is horrible. It burns my skin when I put it on after the treatment is fully dry. It does not keep my skin hydrated. I really miss the old moisturizer because it was the perfect combination and I wish the company would go back to it. I’ve been a customer for years and it saddens me that I now have to go back on the search for something that with help my acne and skin.

Absolutely loved the yellow moisturizer - used it loyally for 7-8 years. Ordered 2 more bottles recently, unaware of the formula change. When I got it, there was a slip in the box saying you removed whatever made it yellow due to complaints - well here’s to me complaining, that this new stuff is not at all the same. The yellow stuff was perfect - light, very moisturizing but not thick, could barely feel it on my skin after it absorbed, which was quickly. Gave my skin a nice constant glow, etc. This new formula is much thicker, feels like it’s constantly clogging my pores, my skin doesn’t look the same after it’s applied compared to applying the yellow moisturizer, I’ve broken out for the first time in ages since starting to use it - there has been no other changes to my routine. I don’t know why it was changed, apparently because there were complaints of the yellow color? Well I’d expect for you to get x20 the amount of complaints about this product being much different and an overall bad product and absolutely incomparable to the old formula. And great for you guys because I just purchased 2 of the largest bottles of it with no way to return it. I’ve no other immediate option to turn to for my skin, as this regime is all I’ve known for a long long time. Very disappointing, honestly feels like I’d been let down in the biggest way by a close friend. Not even a heads up before spending hundreds of dollars on this “new formula”. I could’ve just went to the drugstore and bought ceraVe if I wanted a thick white moisturizer instead of spending hundreds on this without even knowing it was changed, for the worst. Speaking of spending I’ve literally spend thousands of dollars with you over these years, and feel as though you should know I, among I would assume many others, have just been set back to day one because of this shit. Thanks!!!!! Unbelievable. I would be giving a zero or negative star review if you allowed that to be on your website… Dan as someone who said they developed this regimen because you had acne and no where else to turn, you should know how this would feel….. horrendous.
