I so wanted to love it.....

Pros:

Reduced some wrinkles in my non acne areas

Cons:

Made more of a hassle than a cure

My acne had "calmed down" for about 10 months, so I felt it was time to work on my scars. I have seen BEAUTIFUL results in other older women from microdermabrasion so I was convinced this would be my miracle. Unfortunately, after only one treatment (I was scheduled for 3) my face broke out in HUGE cystic acne. It is true that micro digs up all the old bacteria and "purges" your face. But it made new, huge, deep scars- completely doing the opposite of what I wanted. I was too scared to try it again, so I did chemical peels instead. Those help, but still not my miracle. In all, I would never so micro ever again.

try BHA, I purchase it from Paula's choice, it works for acne wonderfully, it gets into the dermis to exfoliate the pores, this will help control some acne

I went due to recent hormonal breakouts. I hope they advised you to avoid make up, lotions for 24 hrs and to tone your skin. Not doing this can cause problems. I hoe u find one thing that helps xxx

seeing & feeling results!

Pros:

Smooth skin
Results
Gentle treatment, not sore at all

Cons:

Abit pricey
Have to wait atleast 2 weeks inbetween sessions
You dont get results as quickly as you like (time consuming)

I am 21, I have small breakouts once in awhile, but I also have old acne scars & redness so even though my breakouts are small it looks like I have more pimples than I actually do! Ive had 2 treatment sessions of Diamond Microdermabrasion. I have not seen any significant results BUT I have notice my face is not so red, my skin feels smooth and very clean! And my acne scars are fading lightly more and more after each session! I cant wait for my 3rd session! I will continue until im satisfied, ill make sure to write another review :)

Pros:

pain free
cost effective
smooth skin

Cons:

multiple treatments

Well it would be nice to go in for 20 min and walk out with absolutely no acne scars but until someone invents a miracle machine i'll be settling for microderm. I've done 2 treatments so far. I do not see a huge improvement on my scars but before i started treatments i would always have 2-3 active pimples on my face. I'm noticing for at least 2 weeks after treatment i don't get any breakouts. Maybe one but over the course of 2 weeks that's not bad! My skin is smooth, it just feels clean. I go to a cosmetic center, they use a diamond tipped wand and apply lotion afterwards to calm down the skin. I have no pain when she's working on my face. I wouldn't recommend for someone with widespread active acne. If you have one or two at the time, it's not bad. But i noticed the one time i had an active pimple the wand and pressure she applied made it like pop under the skin, so there was just a dried-blood color spot there for a few days!

Pros:

Little downtime, not too pricey compared to other treatments, not painful

Cons:

Can get pricey if you continue treatments, may cause new acne pits to appear if you currently have pits that aren't too noticeable, dry skin for 2-3 days

I sometimes get cystic acne on my cheeks. I had a few depressed acne pits & some indents that weren't too noticeable. I decided to go to a beauty clinic that charged $50.00 per microdermabrasion treatment that includes a facial. My skin felt so smooth after. But after a few treatments, I noticed new acne pits that weren't noticeable before and now they appeared to look even deeper. I sugges microdermabrasion probably works for those with clear skin or minor red acne scars. But I feel that this is not a good treatment for those that have cystic acne w/ current acne pit scarring. I tried Juvederm yesterday and so far the results are great. Contact me if you want before & after pictures.

Pros:

Works lesser acne and scars.

Cons:

Does not work for heavy scars and kind of expensive.

First time I paid 150.00$ and had less extreme acne, so it worked pretty well on the scars. Now my acne has gotten more severe and it no longer works like it use to, so I suggest only using it if your acne is light to mild moderate.

Pros:

smooth skin, cleared some blackheads, made my complexion look better, still waiting to see what else.

Cons:

Two days later I had to stay home from school for one day because my skin was so flaky.

I got my first microderm on wednesday. It inflamed my face at first, but it was faded by the next morning. It really helped because I had so much dead skin and my pores were really clogged. I am hoping that with the more treatments I get, the more it will fade my red marks=D

Pros:

Helping to reduce current acne, past scares and redness are practically gone. The skin around my acne is the best it has ever been.

Cons:

Discomfort, and peeling for the week or so afterwards.

I am doing this to treat my current acne and past scars. So far it has been very successful in treating my past scars. I have not had a problem and would highly recommend this. For those who have had problems are you going to a licensed and trained enestician who has the proper medical training? If so I can't see why there are so many problems. The only huge downside is the cost. I have a package of 6 treatments for now. Maybe more in the future? My treatment is also followed by a peel.

Pros:

Bright Skin , Smooth Complexion, Smaller Pores

Cons:

Stinging for a few hours, Redness

Worth it - can def see the difference and feel more confident. I am 35 yrs old - have no acne whatsoever but did have in my teens, I picked my spots despite being told not to and got left with deep scars and marks. i have a pretty face and would feel so much more confident without this on my face. Have been having microdermabrasion facials for a few years now - def makes skin look much better and makeup goes on more easily. Recently I changed my salon and starting going to a different lady, she uses a differnet machine and was a bit stronger pressure of crystals - wow - I can already see more difference in one session than I have seen in last few years - def worth it. 5 days on I can still feel a slight stinging - but thats good as it tells me something is working! I'm gonna take six sessions in a row and see if it makes my skin better. I already feel better , I wore my hair up today!

Pros:

I have adult acne of every category(i.e. whiteheads, blackhead, papules)However, the first session I saw no improvement, but in the second session I saw massive improvement, BUT the clear skin only lasted for a two weeks.

Cons:

The skin becomes dependent on microdermabrasion, therefore, consistent treatment is required to see positive results.

Not worth the hype. There are various kinds of microdermabrasion. research before you head to the nearest salon and dermatologist. Remember: they are business men and women therefore they will give proper medical information, with results may vary per person.

Disappointing
By my rough estimation, I've likely had about 6 microdermabrasion treatments over the past two years so this provided me with more than enough time to formulate an accurate opinion. My skin is fairly clear, but I have gone to eliminate very faint red spots on my upper cheeks. I have seen slight improvements, but it has ultimately caused me to break out more often with zits that now left marks behind. I have found that these treatments are far too evasive and do more harm than good. Let's look at my pros and cons below. Pros: Smooths out your skin and gives you a very temporary glow. Tackles acne that was inevitably going to surface. Slight improvements with multiple visits, but they must be at least a month apart. Cons: The downtime can last anywhere from 3-7 days. If they manage to dig out a lot or even attempt to correct scars, it will certainly take a good chunk of time to scab and then fully heel. Cost is a big factor as these treatments are not inexpensive and you will need at least 3 visits to see any improvements whatsoever. Your face feels open to dirt and germs that could lead to clogged pores. Expect further breakouts as they are essentially bringing all of those zits skin deep to the service I have a high pain tolerance, but many tend to complain about the discomfort they experience with this treatment. If you are thinking about this treatment to help counteract scars, marks or even active acne, I would highly recommend going with a laser alternative. Less down time and a lot less evasive.
