I've had acne since... freshman year of high school.... now I am 22. I have comedonal acne (chin, forehead) with the occasional pimples on my cheeks. I squeeze haIf a lemon in a cup of warm water and it has worked wonders!! my cheeks are completely clear and has been for 3 weeks which has never happened before and the bumps on my forehead and chin have gone down significantly. But what did the trick was the acne.org regimen and it is amazing!!! BUT it makes my skin extremely dry and a little red. the Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment is what really flattened my comedonal acne. but I've used the regimen before and never with results like this I am 100% sure that it was because of the lemon. I feel so happy and energized in the morning after drinking it and am so happy that I am using natural products for my body. This website talks more about the benefits of lemon water: [link removed] control (but made me nauseous & when you get off you break out again plus it's bad for your body in general) -lemon applied to face 2x a week -complex 15 cream -honey mask good luck everyone!!!!! Pros:

Clears skin
Prevents breakouts
Natural
Has other health benefits

Cons:

Bitter
Continuous drinking can cause acid erosion on teeth, destroys enamel so drink through a straw, rinse mouth with water and wait at least 30 minutes before brushing your teeth.

I would definitely recommend drinking lemon juice, it is a a major contributor to clearing my skin and keeping my skin clear. I also feel like it helps to prevent future breaks outs. In addition I apply it topically and leave it on my face for a few hours, but be careful when applying to your face as it may sting and irritate your skin so I think drinking it is safer for those with sensitive skin or who are worried about applying it directly to their skin. Because I think it's a hassle to squeeze fresh lemons, I use 100% concentrate Lemon Juice and mix it with warm water because I think it's easier to drink when it's warm while I also drink through a straw to protect my enamel from eroding. I drink this twice a day. Definitely check it out and even if it doesn't work for you there are still many health benefits and it feels very cleansing to the body.

Pros:

Clears up acne, reduces redness, put me in a better mood, more energy. Overall it just makes you feel great!

Cons:

Bad for teeth. It made my stomach upset, but that's probably because I drank too much of it.

It definitely works. If it doesn't work for your acne, I would recommend drinking it for the various other health benefits that lemon juice has. I know a lot of people are concerned about how this affects their teeth. If you're not doing it for flavor, I would suggest squirting the juice straight down your throat (if you have the bottled lemon juice), and washing it down with water straight afterward. I don't know if this would have the same effect as drinking the lemon juice with water or something, but I don't see why it wouldn't. At the very least it wouldn't hurt your teeth!

Pros:

very cheap, effective, cleanse the kidney which therefore stops acne

Cons:

can be sour and bad for your teeth (unless you drink it through a straw)

i was really skeptical about this curing acne. i had acne real bad, i broke out and ended up going to the doctor for medicne. i was in hurry to get rid of my acne before band camp stopped which was next week. found this recipe online and decided to give it a try. After a few days, i honestly didn't believe it'd work but 2 days before band camp. my skins was actually pimple free. i was amazed and decided to stop drinking it. within a couple weeks my acne came back so i knew that this drink had an affect on my acne.

Pros:

This is an incredible nautral way to help your skin and your whole body in general. I have been drinking lemon water for a little over a month now, and the benefits are astounding.

Cons:

None!!! (Except I've heard of tooth enamel decay but never expierenced this myself)

This is a great way to cleanse the body and clear the skin. In addition to clear skin I have noticed my metabolism speedinh up, more regular bowel movements, and an increase in overall wellness. Plus, it's cheap and makes plain water taste great!!

Pros:

Works wonders

Cons:

Nothing so far

I have been on it for a couple days and i can see the difference. I did not break out at all today and i feel it is def due to lemon juice. My acne size has reduced. I will wait longer to see the promising results and review again. But I just want other people to know that it is worth a try. I drink 3 teaspoon in a shot glass with straw in the morning and at night. Good luck guys, hope it works for you.

Pros:

Healthier Alternative to Antibiotics and Harsh Chemicals

Cons:

I keep running out of lemons, I use 2 per day!

This must be helping me too but I also went with a extremely low fat diet, Simply if I load up on raw fruits and veggies, eat only poultry or fish, a high fiber cereal or plain vanilla yogurt for a snack I will not have one new outbreak. I have extremly terrible and sensitve "female" hormonal acne from imbalanced estrogen/pregesterone/testosterone. Not one over the counter drug or antibiotic or cream improves it at all. In additon to making good diet choices I supplement with chasteberry (vitex)to regulate female hormones as well., Flaxseed oil capsules and a real whole food multivitamin plus a hair, skin nails vitamin too. I do a full lemon topped w/ 16oz water before bfast and another one every night before bed too. Plus at least 2 Cups of green tea and detox tea each per day. I have done it for months, if I go back to my old habits It will take a week but I go back to huge cysts - big as eraser diameter and dozens of comedones.

Although I began this regimen with water, I've since decided to place the lemon into apple juice instead. The lemony taste is somewhat muted and it has quite a lovely flavor..while also providing all of the necessary benefits! The apple juice (or any other 100% fruit juice) provides an added component in the detoxification process. My skin is glowing with healthiness.

Doterra Lemon Oil!
So about a week ago I decided to try lemon water in order to stop my acne. I actually came across this site and decided to try it after reading reviews. My mother is a big Doterra fanatic so there was a 15ml lemon oil bottle lying around that I started to add into my water everyday. It's highly concentrated so I put in a drop or two and I can't even explain the difference in my skin. My acne has been horrible for YEARS. It was all over my cheeks, jaw and chin. It was always hormonal related and especially linked to my diet which I still struggle to keep clean. I've tried everything and this has been my saviour. My acne has cleared dramatically! I haven't had a breakout since I've been drinking this. My skin has cleared up, and I'm praying that it continues to do so. Right now my focus is on clearing my acne scarring. I really recommend giving this a go or even trying lemon water in itself. I've tried everything from oral medication, tropical remedies, acne products, diets and chemical peels. This has worked for me! I really hope that this works for other people too, it's just really a confidence booster after so many years of battling acne. I will also post a review in a months time if this continues to work for me. Good Luck!
