Pros:

fresh feeling
better skin

Cons:

didnt change my acne

it may help to add a glow to the skin but it doesnt change acne. I found no effect on my acne. I'm going to try sea salt because I had to get some for my new ear piercing (it is awesome). When I went to the beach in I Florida i noticed my skin cleared so i hope this helps; acne can sure be a bother to your life! Oh well we must all live on. Try lemon juice for a bit to see what happens; its not like it can really hurt your skin, and its fairly cheap to get.

Pros:

-Cheap
-Good for people who don't have sensitive skin

Cons:

-Even when diluted it still stings!

I have VERY sensitive normal/oily skin.I tried this as a toner every night before bed for two weeks even when I diluted the lemon 70% water/ 30% lemon,it still stong!.It does work for acne scaring however since I have such sensitive skin I can't deal with the stinging!,my face turns BEAT red when I use this. Also it donsn't help active pimples. If you have strong (NOT sensitive) skin then this might work for scaring. p.s if you do use this get the pure 100% organic lemon juice,I do notice a difference when I use regular lemon and organic lemon.

Pros:

Very inexpensive.

Smells good and leaves my skin feeling very soft.

Cons:

Stings a little bit, but not very much.

Didnt quite have the effect on me that alot of people on here said it had on them. I am also on minocyclin acne pills and an acne gel and I was using the lemon when i washed my face but I didnt see a change.

I tried this for about three weeks and saw no change in my skin so I quit. Although it was a bit softer I didnt feel that it cleared up my acne like I was hoping. Maybe I will try it again in the future for a longer period of time and see if that helps.

I would not recommend this
So after desperately searching for natural products which would take away the dark spots on my face that appear after a pimple goes away I was recommended that I use lemon juice. I have light-ish brown skin (I'm Indian) so I unfortunately get spots after a pimple goes away. I heard that if you have dark skin you should not use lemon juice because it can cause spots to appear on your face but I still applied it on my face and I did not like it. My face was red and stung very badly. I had to stay away from the sunlight because if you go out in the sun with lemon juice it can burn your skin. Don't use this if you have sensitive skin like me. Personally, I just use honey and I think it works a lot better and doesn't hurt.

I'm a light skinned Indian as well, and your description of your skin sounds almost exactly like mine. I had the same problem as you in the beginning, but then I diluted the lemon in juice and kept it on for 10 minutes the first day and then washed it off. I kept on continuing until I would put it on straight from a lemon and leave it on overnight. Then, I would wash it off and put on sunscreen. It worked like a charm! Then my acne came back because I stopped doing that and started eating a ton of junk food. But I'm doing it again and I'm seeing results! I use honey and lemon to exfoliate my skin in the morning and it works pretty well!

It's because it's getting rid of bacteria that causes acne

Pros:

Cheap
Easy to get hold of
Smells lovely
Natural
Didn't make my acne worse

Cons:

Made my face itchy
Burn abit
Didn't see any changes to acne or scars
Very drying

I would recommend this because the fact that its natural and cheap and very easy to get hold of and its worth a try if your desparate (like me). My own experience with it wasn't so good but just because of my own experience doesn't mean on others it won't work. My skin is sensitive and I guess the lemon acid my face can't handle. It stings and burns alot for me and my face goes red so definately a irratation on my skin. I used it once- twice a week for a month just to see if it would help even though it stung my face. Nothing happened so it wasn't really that great, good thing was that it didnt make my acne worse.

Does not work externally
I am suffering from acne since long time. I have acne on both sides (right and left) upper cheeks. My face skin is very oily. I have tried applying lemon juice on my acne i dilute it in water because applying lemon juice direct on skin can be strong! Whenever i apply it my skin irritates and it itches alot, and my skin literally become RED !! I also applied the lemon juice directly without diluting it in water but it is very very irritating and i have to wash it off immediately. I have also tried applying lemon by mixing it with another things like, honey, tomato, fuller's earth, gram flour etc but never saw any good results. Lemon does not work on my skin at all i've tried it couple of times. But yes for internal use its best! i drink lemon water and lemon with green tea daily and it is good ! :) I would also like to say that if it does not works for me it is not necessary that it will also not work for ur skin too. Everyone has different skin. There are so many people who give positive feedback about applying lemon on their skin and it works for them. So it depends on ur skin. Try it if u see any betterment then it means it works for ur skin and if not, and ur skin irritates means it does not works for u. Best of luck everyone :)
