Pros:

cheap, helps lighten hyperpigmentation scars slightly

Cons:

BREAK OUT! .. very drying/sticky

I used this for about a week, and broke out pretty bad which left scars for months! If you're going to use this, DONT use it everyday, and make sure you dilute it with water. Use with care and read your skins reaction.

Good for scars/scabs but not for your entire face
Unfortunately it broke me out pretty bad. Works good to heal popped/old pimples though.

Didint work so well for me!!
When i tried applying fresh lemon juice on my acne, i could feel a stinging feeling and it got better after a while. But the next day, the skin inflammation got worse and breakouts started to increase. It didnt work well on my skin, maybe i have a sensitive skin. I tried egg white and it works best for me!!

Pros:

The lemon definitely lightens discoloration.

Cons:

My entire face is irrated by lemon juice and it left me with major rash which I am still suffering from. It has been 5 days since I used the lemon and still reddish bumps all over my face and I didn't have pimples or rash to start from.

If you have sensitive skin like me, you shouldn't use it. It's not worth it. However it does even out tone. I don't think it was worth it for me. I am suffering with rash all over my face!

Help
So, here's my routine; In the morning I wash my face with a Cetaphil cleanser, then I use something that my dermatologist prescribed, forgot what it's called. It's a topical gel, though. Then I use the Cetaphil lotion. At night I use the same cleanser and lotion, instead of the topical gel, I use another thing my dermatologist prescribed, which aren't name brands or anything. Then I soak a paper towel in lemon juice, and leave it on my face for about 20 minutes. Next, I rinse off my face with cold water, then rub ice cubes on my face for 2-5 minutes and rinse off with cold water again and then use a towel to dab-dry my skin. I've been using lemon juice for a couple of days now and I honestly haven't noticed a difference, like everyone is saying. Part of my acne got a bit worse, but I think that had nothing to do with the juice or ice. Advice?

Pros:

MAYBE helps fade acne scars...

Cons:

None really...might irritate skin and further redness

Well I hate to be a downer, but I recently gave lemon juice a try after many things (BP, salicylic acid, clindamycin, etc), and I can't say it has worked all that great for me...ESPECIALLY as some have claimed for it being an "overnight" and "miracle" cure. The only thing that has ever worked in such a way was Accutane which I took in high school. I'm not saying lemon juice doesn't work, in fact I'm sure it probably does for a lot of people. But it certainly didn't make my pimples go away. The only thing it somewhat seemed to fade was older acne scars (which is actually pretty awesome). It didn't make things worse that I could really tell, so I say give it a try. Why not, really. I think the best thing for me at this point in my life is just drinking tons of water, not sweating, and destressing.

Broke me out pretty bad
I had some red spots on my face and chest from leftover acne that was healing and going away and I thought of using lemon juice to try to lighten them up a bit, which I guess it kinda did but then it's as if it brought all of my dead pimples back to life. I left it on during the night, then the next morning I had a bunch of new angry pimples that weren't there the night before and they were all swollen and filled with pus. I'd say this is probably nice if your acne has already completely healed and you're trying to get rid of the scarring/blemishes, but if you feel like things are just starting to fade and you don't want to mess it up then don't use this. Though it might be because I used it all over and didn't spot treat and left it on overnight, either way I won't risk it again I think.
