I'm so glad that i used this instead of the "burning face mask". i found that almost impossible to make and it didn't even burn! i had taken a paper towel and ripped it to fit the curves of my face, then i poured lemon juice into a container and soaked my paper towels in the lemon juice. after, i drained the extra juice out of my paper towels by lightly squeezing them, and then placing them on my face. i keep them on my voce for about half an hour (or however long i feel like keeping them there). i can feel the places where i have scars and acne slightly burning! i then rinse off my face and rub ice cubes on for about 3-5 minutes. then i rinse my face with cool water and dab-dry. feels amazing and works great!

Pros:

Great Scent
Inexpensive
Readily Available
Tasty! Mmm...

Cons:

Stings
Beware the pulp!

I don't recommend leaving the pulp on your face. Strain it out before you apply. I think it clogged my pores and I ended up with little bumps all over my face! It stopped about three days after I quit using lemon. But heck yes it is effective against acne. Now I drink it instead and my skin is almost clear.

Pros:

Clears both acne and blackheads
Smells good
Shrinks pores
Leaves skin soft
cheap
quick

Cons:

itches like mad the first time you put it on
skin is a bit more sensitive to sunlight

Since I was eleven I have had acne. Moderate acne that wouldn't go away no matter what products I used (most actually irritated it more) or the products would work for a mere few months. For the last few years I have worked at a fast food restaurant which is murder on the skin. A few months back, my skin began to break out worse than ever before. So in desperation I searched through the internet for a home remedy as a last resort. Really, it should have been my first resort. My face which was red in many places from acne scars is its proper colouration again and glowing. There are no more large boils under my skin. My blackheads have not improved that much, but I attribute that to my workplace. (I took a week off to study and all of a sudden they were almost completely gone. Came back when I went back to work) It works very well when you use hot soapy water on your face beforehand. Just a warning though. Don't put just straight lemon juice on your face. It is not good for it. You have to remember that this is also a very strong acid. It must be diluted with water first before you put it on your face. The way that I did it was just to soak a cotton ball with water first before I put a few drops of lemon juice on it You will start to see improvement with in about two to three days. This university student is happy for the cheapness as well compared to the old acne products she used to buy!

Pros:

Super cheap
Natural (always a plus)
Great smell

Cons:

Stings a bit, but its not terrible.

I've just started this treatment yesterday amd I already love it. My skin type is combination and its the worst to try and find something that works. I've been using the egg white facial mask once a month for a few months now and its greatbut I found it makes my skin too dry, even with moisturizers. My skin is naturally tan, and pimples arent too alarming to me. The dreaded scars I get after are what kills me. I've tried just about everything to fade them but they barely work. I've read all of y'alls reviews and decided this might work. After the first time I used it, I could already see a difference. I was so excited, like you couldnt believe. My scars are mainly around my jaw line and chin. I took some natural lemon juice and put it on a cotton pad. It stung, but only for a few seconds (I guess I have a high tolerance of pain) and I left it on for 10 minutes. When I rinsed it off, I could see that my skin was exceptionally brighter. Even my sister noticed. I cannot wait til it works even more. I'll be patient. Bottom line, USE IT. The stinging may vary for different people, but I promise Its nothin to cry over.

Pros:

IT WORKS. Lightens skin. Clears acne (slowly but surely). Fades some acne marks (some stayed but less noticeable now). Verfy convenient. Just be patient. In a month or two it WILL WORK!

Cons:

Stings a little. Besides that no other Cons.

I have been keeping up with these reviews on lemon (specifically these reviews here on acne.org for a few months now). I was using Murad a couple of months ago and saw these great reviews and decided to give lemon a try. It was hard to decide because i don't like change and Murad was slowly starting to work. I tried the lemon. It takes a loooooooong time for lemon to work. For me it did. I've been using lemon for about two and half months now and my skin is finally clear. it takes about a month to two months for it to start working. I still have my last Murad shipment unopened. I don't need it. I started using Limes over lemon now. Limes work better.

Pros:

Smother the skin, lightning skin color, removes acne.

Cons:

it required consistency and patient to get best result as this is natural treatment and most people want it instantly.

I use mixture of Lemon Juice to remove the acne and Honey to avoid sting and 'too acid' from Lemon. Honey also works as natural antibacterial. it help you to kill bacterial which caused acne.

Pros:

Clears redness
Drys up acne making less noticeable
Tightens skin

Cons:

Stings

I have been using it for 3-4 days now twice a day and after the first day I was already seeing results. I use it in the morning and at night. I not only use lemons but before o use the lemon juice I gently wash my face with st Ives apricot scrub this helps so much I find if you wear makeup alot as to which I do it helps to get down deep under your pores and bring it up allowing it all to be clears from your skin and the lemon juice helps to close you pores making sure nothing gets in ..I highly recommend both :)

Pros:

-brightens complexion
-clears acne
-smooths skin

Cons:

-works slowly
-messy, stings

Yes, I would totally recommend this. In 7th grade, I had the worst acne, and in desperation (and having nothing else left to try), I applied lemon juice to my face everyday for a month. After that month my skin was completely clear and GLOWING. It was absolutely ridiculous and I thought I was dreaming! I eventually stopped despite these results because it was messy and tiring the way i applied it. However, I'm going to start again, a few years later, because these days, I'm breaking out like crazy. If you do this, don't expect an overnight miracle. There are none. It works slowly, but it LASTS, which is wonderful. Be patient, and hang in there! Picking and panicking over your acne will not clear it up!
