Pros:

I've used 100% bottled lemon juice on my face as a toner/astringent. This products works wonders for acne prone skin. The oilness decreased, and my acne scars have faded. I use the product am/pm for abouta 3 mos.

Cons:

Dilute ripe lemons with water; or use bottled concentrated lemon juice

Rave review for lemons/limes. These fruits have lighten my acne scars!!!

Pros:

Reduces redmarks, natural, cheap, smells better than vinigar, makes your skin really soft!

Cons:

can be a little drying and you may need to dilute it if you find it too harsh

*Everyone should know about this!* I applied a mix of lemon juice and egg white (not as harsh as just lemon) to my face last night. When I woke up this morning my mum even noticed the difference. After one application the spots have got smaller and the red marks faded by a thrid. I read somewhere that you can make a mask of egg white, lemon juice and powdered milk- but haven't tried it yet. I think lemon juice and applecider vinigar are interchangeable (though ACV is a little harsher).

Pros:

Affordable, reduces swelling in a very short period of time, area affected is instanty calmed, prevents breakouts, natural solution.

Cons:

tingles a bit when you apply it

Easiest, most effective solution i have tried nad would recommend it to everyone with all skin types. Moisturising is essential - using lemon jucie does have a drying effect

Pros:

It works fine.. i havent really used it long enough to get results yet but i have noticed that my face isnt as oily!

Cons:

none yet. it doesnt really even sting for me!

well ive been using GARLIC for my acne. it works wonders! but it DOES dry out the face alot.. and i go through like a whole thing of garlic in ONE WEEK. too much! plus the smell.. ew! but hey it DID work so some of you should try it! i heard about the lemon thing a couple weeks ago i was REALLLLLY hesitant to try it. i mean its basically acid.. wont that hurt your face? i tried it 2 days ago and the next morning after i used it, my face felt refreshed and the smaller pimples were barely even there! the bigger ones reduced in swelling.. but no miracle or anyhting just yet i am going to continue using it and i am gunna start drinking lemon juice as well ill keep you posted on how it works! wish me luck!

Pros:

It really works! It clears up acne, prevents future breakouts and improves your overall complexion.

Cons:

It stings a little when you put it on, but you get used to it.

I apply the lemon juice from a fresh lemon after every time I wash my face. I wear it all day, and apply my make-up on top of it. I apply lemon juice again at night and wear it overnight. It has greatly improved my skin! I used to have bad cystic acne. Before the lemon, I was on all kinds of antibotics for a year and was using Retin-A for two years. They would work for a couple of months and then my body would become immune to it. I was about to get on Accutane but I was sick of taking pills. My mother suggested I try using a lemon. And I love it! It is all I use now!

Pros:

Very cheap, natural, no side effects that I've noticed yet, really seems to have made a difference in my skin.

Cons:

Slow at fading red spots

I've never actually had acne except for some mild flare-ups during stressful times, but for some reason, I have had a two month major break-out that has been hitting me in waves. It seems to finally be in control and I think that lemom juice applied topically sped up the end of the process dramatically. If only I knew about it two months ago.. I've been using it for about two weeks today and my skin just has about three healing, faded pimples and nothing else! I wear it overnight. I had a particularly large pustule and lemon juice is what finally shrank it down. I'm not sure it would work for everyone but this is the clearest skin I've had in months and everyone has noticed. I'm finally getting my face back. This isn't the only thing I've been doing, though. The same time I started applying lemon juice, I also stared drinking water with a wedge of lemon squeezed in and I bought a Burdock root/Red Root compound at my local health store. Burdock is amazing for acne - look it up!

Pros:

Seems to eat away at existing acne, clenses pores and fights surface skin oil - the best thing its cheap and natural!!!

Cons:

Has to be natural fresh lemons and organic seems to work better

Trust me, Ive had a rollercoaster ride with my acne - gone through tonnes of emotions some great like when my doctor discovered erthromycin and it worked so we'll I foolishly thought I would never have to worry bout acne again...life was easy back then, but then six months later I was in for a rude wake up call. My acne returned with a vengence and I mean it took over my face drained the colour from my skin and ruined my life. That was back in november and since then I've been on tetralycin which did little but make my skin look awful, benzoil peroxide which works for two weeks then ance returns as cystic as if life isnt harsh enough. On differin right now seems to be working slowely and im not knocking it but after discovering lemon juice the healing process seems to of been boosted. The colours back the skin is perfecting and mayb (FINGERS SO BLOODY WELL CROSSED) I might of gotten acne in my grasp. Whatever happens I will not stop UNTIL I SEE ACNE VULGARIS DIE!!! Good luck Amigos!

FEW DAYS, BIG IMPROVEMENT!
Omg! SO for the past 3 days I have been putting lemon juice(not pure lemon but thr lemon juice in a little lemon bottle from the store) and I've seen MAJOR improvement in this little bit of time. Honestly, when I first started I thought it wouldn't work as I've tried many things- aloe vera, medicine, prescription, certain face washes and creams, etc.- but it does indeed work. Now, I actually feel better about my skin and hoping it will work more without irritating my skin, although it does dry it. I've been applying this lemon juice with a CLEAN flat typical foundation brush (like a bigger paint brush) and leaving it on my face for 1 hour ish, sometimes longer, and washing it off in the shower. THEN in the shower I use a homemade face scrub- baking soda and water with a little bit of lemon! I use this like every other day because it may be a little Harsh. It exfoliates my skin at the same time and assists with lightening my scars. I'm excited for school this upcoming year because I know my skin will be better.
