Yes for scars!
I suffer from cystic acne and white head acne and yes now and again I am a guilty squeeze popper.
Thus leaving big fat brown/red marks.
My skin seems more sensitive internally than externally so I do not dilute the lemon juice anymore, but for anyone with externally sensitive skin the ratio should be 1:1 to water or I've seen some others using honey or w/e.
Anyway I usually dab the depressed area with a cotton bud of the lemon juice when I come home from class and leave it on until evening wash (at night I use Hiruscar which I also find effective)
Anyway I must say, with just a few days of using this treatment my scars are NOTICEABLY better than would have been without using it in the same amount of time.
I really recommend!!

good for red marks, but BE CAREFUL
Cons:
Can damage skin if not careful
Can't go anywhere near eyes
Drying
This is the best method to fade red marks, but be careful or you could possibly make acne worse! Make sure you don't have ANY open wounds, scabs, or dry patches. Only use it if the lesion has healed and there is no residual pain. Don't leave it on for more than a few hours at a time, and don't use it every day. If it starts to sting TOO much, take it off and try again another day. If you're careful, this can really help with red marks. I've left it on for 2-3 hours, 4x/week, and saw results in 2 weeks.

Helps with Scars
Pros:
Cheap
Natural Cure
Smells great
Cons:
Takes a long time for results
I use fresh lemon only on my scars, no where else. I rub it in with a cotton pad and leave on for about 15 minutes tops. It has taken me a few weeks to see improvements, but it does help and is cheap. This like every other treatment needs to be used diligently. That means every day!

Pros:
Helped reduce acne scars
Cleared up pimples
Tightens pores
Cons:
Stings
It's obviously been said a lot on here, but this worked pretty well for me. I had never heard of this, and it is such a simple and easy solution. I apply fresh lemon juice to my face using a cotton ball and leave it on for 10-20 minutes before washing it off and moisturizing. My skin looks way better, and I'm so glad I looked on here before buying an expensive treatment. I haven't noticed it lightening my skin tone, but I'm already pale, so I can't go that much lighter. Give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose!

Pros:
Helps to reduce acne. Helps to lighten scars.
Cons:
Needs to be left on for at least 2 hours to be effective. Dries out skin. Turns skin red after prolonged use.
After trying out many products and several ways of applying lemon juice, I finally found a technique that works. The best way is to take a lemon and cut it into quarters. Take one piece and gently rub it all over your face, squeezing the juice out with your fingers as you go. Avoid applying on lips as it can sting and cause chapping. Apply enough juice that it starts to drip. Wait 2 to 2.5 hours (I find that less than 2 hours doesn't effectively lighten scars and more than 2.5 hours turns my face red). Rinse with water. Since lemon juice is drying to the skin, I recommend using facial cleanser only once a day (I like using Clean & Clean Deep Pore Cleanser). I noticed that when I first started using lemon juice a couple of weeks ago I was also using a facial cleanser with benzoyl peroxide. During that time, my face stung severely for 10-15 minutes after applying the juice. I stopped using lemons for a couple of weeks, and when I restarted again I also changed facial cleanser. This time

Pros:
- Brightens complexion
Cons:
- Stings!
I tried this for my acne but it didn't seem to work very much; it left my skin with a yellow-ish hue even after I washed it off (and I'm Asian). It stung even though I diluted it and it made my face kinda red when I left it on. I wouldn't recommend leaving this on your face for longer than 15 minutes, especially if your skin is dry/sensitive. Lemon Juice is however great for lightening hair. Just squeeze lemon juice onto a plate/cup, dilute a little bit, and pour onto your hair. If your hair is very moisturized and hasn't ever been color-treated/excessively heat treated, I think it's safe to squeeze the lemon straight onto your hair. Leave it on until it fully dries or for a couple hours and wash out. Not recommended if you have dry hair, but if your hair is moisturized it should be fine. Leaves your hair with a lovely sun-kissed look :)
