Pros:

Cheap, works well for decreasing oil production on the face (I have very oily skin), makes skin softer, no odors, quick to apply, less pimples, I put 2-3 drops on my fingers and rub it into dry, clean skin

Cons:

Original bottle that the Desert Essence Jojoba oil comes is terrible, leaky and not easy to control - must put it in another bottle if you want to use it regularly

I have always had very oily skin - esp on and around the nose and on the forehead. Over the years, I found that astringents/soaps cuts the oil temporarily but my skin seems to have this amazing ability to produce oil so that I'm shiny again in 10-15min (so frustrating!!!), there'd be so much oil that my glasses slide off my face. I also have some problematic acne on my chin and temples. I started using Jojoba oil consistently about 2 wks ago and the oil production has dropped greatly - it seems that the jojoba oil mimics sebum so that my face stops making so much of it. My skin hasn't been softer, smoother, less oily and pimplefree since about 5th grade. There are still days that I do get very oily when I've particularly stressed but on average, oil production is down 75% or so. I just started using it on my scalp too (added to conditioner) to see if this can help cut oil production on my scalp!

Pros:

Made my sking less oily where it was oily, made it softer in general and evened out my skin tone. Most of all, it cleared up my blackheads almost completely! Only cost $8.43 including shipping.

Cons:

None.

I am a cosmetology student right now, and during my class, I learned about something called Jojoba Oil. We only went over it briefly, so I decided to look it up myself. Because of all of the amazing reviews for it, I decided to give it a try and was greatly impressed! [link removed]>I have never really had a huge problem with acne, my problem has always been the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE black heads that I have always had. My skin looked terrible. Especially on my nose and cheeks. My pores were huge and there was so much stuff caked in them it was disgusting. Most of the acne that I did have was inflamed black heads or me picking. I didn't start taking care of my skin until about 10th grade, and even after I did, I didn't see much of an improvement at first. The one thing though that has really made the difference in my skin however is the jojoba oil. I bought pure, organic jojoba oil (4 oz for under $10 including shi

Pros:

Enjoyable to use, hasn't caused me to break out, multi-functional and I think it has improved my acne scarring.

Cons:

I havn't noticed that it makes my skin less greasy as other people have noted, but I buy shine control papers from Superdrug which takes care of my greasiness. I bought the oil from Holland & Barratt and it cost £10! Costly but it is a large bottle

A staple product for those afflicted by acne or other annoying skin conditions. I find mixing jojoba oil with my cetaphil moisturiser keeps my face flake free and soft all day. It has improved acne scarring, doesn't cause break outs and the large bottle (from Holland & Barratt) will last a long time. I have noticed that it has an odd smell to it though, its not unpleasent and is unnoticeable to others so it isn't something to worry about. I would reccommend those starting the Regiman should buy a bottle as it will help with the uncomfortable skin you will probably suffer at the start. I'm about 4 weeks in now and the Regimen is very good, do stick with it if you are just starting out! The dry, red, uncomfortable skin WILL pass after a few weeks! So don't fret and just carry on! My sister's boyfriend called me "tanny" and "red face" when I began but I just ignored him and I am so glad I persevered with the BP. But do get jojoba, it helps! Went off on a tangent there...!

Pros:

lighter than some oils/creams, organic / natural / vegan

Cons:

made me break out. Didn't seem to improve oiliness.

After persistently using this on my face 2-3 months, I had to admit it was breaking me out. No matter how little I used, even just a *drop* mixed with water, I'd get little new 'jojoba oil' zits all around my laugh lines--the oil must've settled there throughout the day, I guess. I usually don't get zits in that area. I'm still giving it a couple stars because it probably did improve my overall skin texture at least a tiny bit, and it's finr for (leg) shaving and for overall body moisturizer. but even in these capacities, organic EVOO and organic sunflower oil seem just as good if not better, so why splurge on the much more expensive jojoba oil? And for people who either have very mild acne or just acne scars (nothing active), this might be a nice light moisturizer. But for my very active red acne and my very, very easily-clogged skin....... just didn't work out. I've also tried raw shea butter and EVOO w/ no success. Oils aren't for me, maybe.

Pros:

Feels good...fun to use! :)

Cons:

WORST BREAKOUT OF MY LIFE.

I am literally stunned that nobody else seems to have this issue--I broke out soooo badly. I think it sounds like a great plan...and I'm really happy that it works for so many people. I used this nightly for a couple weeks and began getting MASSIVE red, painful, UGLY pimples all over my face. I figured this was the "purging" process, and I'd stick it out. Huge mistake. It took me months and months and months for my skin to clear up again after I stopped using it. However, I made my boyfriend use it (at the beginning, when I was gung-ho), and he experienced no ill-effects...and I think it did help a bit with blackheads. So maybe it's just me! But I would NEVER do this again...worst skin mistake I've ever made!

Pros:

Perfect for oily skin. It moisturizes very well and balances oil production. It unclogs pores and is a great makeup remover. It makes your skin less oily and not shiny.

Cons:

None!

I have only recently started using this but I was kind of feeling sorry for myself that I did not try this sooner. It is a miracle for people with acne because it gets rid of oily skin and unclogs your pores. Clogged pores are where the acne bacteria form in the first place, so unclogging your pores greatly reduces acne breakouts. It keeps your skin moisturized especially if you are using acne medications that dry out your skin. I use it in my spf day lotion and at night and my skin has never looked so good. I also use it to remove makeup instead of over-washing. It is not shiny at all. It completely absorbs into your skin moisturizing it and giving you a gorgeous glow. When you first start using it all the crap clogged in your pores will literally start falling out and your pores will shrink. TRY IT.
