Pros:

- Removes dry skin flakes and whiteheads.
- Gentle on sensitive and inflammed skin.
- Feels very light on the skin and is very easily absorbed.
- Very little is required for each application.
- Other beneficial pure essential oils can be added safely to increase remedial effectiveness.

Cons:

- Can feel a little greasy if too much is applied.
- Expiry date should be observed carefully/oxidation will occur if exposed to light and heat.
- From where I come from, oil is not easily and readily available and can be pricey and difficult to purchase (subjected to stock availability)
- Can take a while before any noticeable effects (as with all organic oils). Patience is key.

I decided to try using jojoba oil after going through months of online research on organic topical remedies. I came across many articles supported by scientific studies that claim jojoba oil as being the natural oil that closely resembles our skin sebum. It is, therefore, highly recommended by many as the perfect and most safe product to use in any skincare regimen. I have oily and acne proned skin. I bought a bottle of cold-pressed jojoba oil from Jurlique. I applied a very thin layer of oil on my face and have noticed how light it feels on my skin. I have fair complexion and because of that, my skin can sometimes appear blotchy and blushed. The oil seem to calm the redness gradually over time and made my skin glow. My skin texture improved as well and felt softer and smoother over time. On some occasion, while applying the oil on my face in a circular motion, dry skin flakes and whiteheads have 'rolled out' painlessly. They just come right off on its own. I usually wipe them away with a cotton pad or clean tissue. I also added pure essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus and geranium to the jojoba oil not only for their scent, but also for their therapeutic properties. Keep in mind that when you do add EO, dilution should never be more than 2%. In my honest opinion, jojoba oil is a great oil to use as a moisturizer to maintain beautiful, healthy skin. I am now currently battling severe acne with antibiotics, a condition which wasn't worsened by my use of the jojoba oil, rather by my usual acne breakout cycle and food allergies, a combination of both, made worse by high levels of stress. I am currently using Shiseido's facial wash, moisturizer and blemish gel designed to be used on oily and acne proned skin to further aid in the recovery process. I'd definitely recommend jojoba oil to anyone who is looking for an organic alternative to harsh synthetic moisturizers, most of which contain harmful chemicals, some of which are known skin irri

Pros:

Removes flakes
Natural
Works for many people

Cons:

Broke me out in small red bumps all over my face within one week of use. I NEVER break out on my cheeks and rarely on my chin, but both of those areas plus the rest of my face is a mess. Luckily the acne is small, but there is lots of it... hoping it doesn't get worse. Discontinued use and back to my old regimen.

I can see that this works for many people, but it definitely is bad news for my skin. I highly doubt it was purging, because the skin on my cheeks has always been normal so I don't think there was gunk under the surface that needed to come out. I suggest trying this on a small area first for one week, because I have seen other reviewers with similar situations as mine. Envious of those who can get glowy, perfect skin from this!

Pros:

Moisturises beautifully, a bottle costs about £10 but lasts ages, the clear skin on my face looks amazing

Cons:

In my case, it hasn't cleared up my acne but has certainly helped the condition of my skin.

Firstly, if you try this all you need is a few drops for your whole face! I bought the Jojoba Oil from Holland and Barratts after reading the reviews on here. I must say I am impressed. After use my skin feels so soft, even the bits with acne! It penetrates quickly and improves the appearance of my whole face. The bits of my face that are clear are now CRYSTAL clear! My left cheek has no scars, no spots, no uneveness...now I just need my whole face to look like this! I recommend using the jojoba oil as a moisturiser after using a topical treatment for your acne. I use quinoderm, but figure out what works for you by trial and error :) Good luck my acne-fighting friends! :P

Pros:

makes hair and skin smooth, soft, and well moisturized...naturally!

Cons:

can be hard to find

My skin has become so dry due to Spironolactone; this oil works great for me when mixed with my regular moisturizer. My skin just swallows it up. A few drops is all it takes - otherwise you will be too greasy. I also apply roughly 6 or 7 drops to my damp hair after washing, then style as usual...looks like I spend hundreds on my hair! Love this stuff!

Pros:

Helps Clear Congested Areas
Great Moisturizer
Plumps fine lines
Normalizes oil production

Cons:

Too heavy for daytime use

I have been using jojoba oil for a few months and love it! It does cause your pores to purge so there is an increase in pimples at first but once that stops you are left with super soft, smooth skin. Something I did to help speed up the purging process was to mix jojoba oil with a 1/2 teaspoon or so of baking soda, which I used as a scrub every other day. The baking soda acts as a mild exfoliant and helps slough off the old skin and clear out the debris. My favorite benefit of jojoba oil is how much it has normalized the oil production in my face. I used to go through a pack of blotting papers a week and now I don't use any! No other moisturizer, matifying gel, etc. has ever worked this good.

How long did the initial purge last?

March 3, 2010

Pros:

Very moisturizing
Gets rid of flakiness associated with acne products!
Makes my skin look younger and so healthy!
Makes my hair look wonderful

Cons:

The bottle I have gets very messy and I tend to always get a few more drops than I want when I pour it out.
If you apply too much, you look really shiny

Takes a little bit of experimenting with to get just the right amount on your skin, but I tell you what, once you do, you will be so happy! I have always suffered with ALWAYS having 1-3 large zits on my face. Once one would go away, another one would appear elsewhere. When I would use acne treatments though, my skin would get unquenchably dry. No matter how intense a moisturizer I would apply, my skin would still end up looking flaky and terrible. :( Now that I have started using jojoba oil, that is all a thing of the past! It quenches my parched skin when I do use acne products, but I have found that I don't have to use them everyday as long as I apply this in the morning and at night. Occasionally I apply only jojoba oil to my face after I wash it before bed, and I wake up with beautiful, glowing skin. I'm so excited that I found this!

Pros:

makes me glow
clears up skin
cheaper than most acne products
lasts forever
also fantastic for long hair!

Cons:

haven't found any yet except maybe that it can be a little on the heavy side so I only use it at night and use the lighter grapeseed oil(also great for skin) in the morning before makeup

This is fantastic! I purchased mine at [link removed] ($11.90 for 16oz of golden jojoba oil) and also the grapeseed oil ($12.54 for a 1/2 gallon of grapeseed oil) because I found they had the best prices and good quality. I use jojoba oil at night with my normal face lotions. Realize that with some people it will cause purging the first couple mths. In other words since it unclogs pores it can make you seem to break out at first. This doesn't happen to everyone. But once the purging is over your skin will be clear and glowing. This is why some on here are complaining it makes them break out. If needed you can use a salysilic acid spot product for breakout areas before bed (like neutrogena's one which I like) to help with the purging breakouts the first few mths. Grapeseed oil is also a great item to use. It's lighters so better if using before makeup in the morning while joboba is heavier and I find better for night use. It is also FABULOUS for hair! Rub some in your palms (about a teaspoon or so) and rub all into hair staying away from the scalp. Mainly spread it through the length and ends. If you have layers dont forget those ends. Your hair will look all greasy but dont worry. Leave it in for about an hour then shampoo and condition as usual. After a couple days I couldn't believe how manageable soft and shiny my hair was. And I seemed to not have a split end to exist. Grapeseed and jojoba oil are two of the greatest products nature made for skin and hair. No wonder people have used them for centuries! I can't believe I wasted so much money on expensive skin and hair products before.

Pros:

Reduces acne
Reduces redness
Makes skin feel smooth

Cons:

Causes bumps on forhead
Not very absorptive

It made me feel very hopeful for several months, but it can only go so far, it seems. I suppose I shall have to try something else, perhaps with it.

Pros:

Made my skin GLOW like a goddess!!!!!!! Works on acne, makes skin smooth and supple!

Cons:

NONE!

WOW. I have tried everything for my acne: Proactiv, AcneFree, dozens of topical creams/gels from the dermitologist, prescriptions... etc., and NOTHING worked as well as jojoba oil. I first used it on my body after the shower, and I noticed that any acne on my back or chest would dissappear after using it. I read all of the great reviews on here and decided to use it on my face. It does take a little bit to work on acne, though. It's a slow process, but definetley worth it. I'm clearing up. ALSO, I put it on my face before bed and wake up looking like a goddess with the face as smooth and beautiful as you can imagine... not bad for someone who had skin just the opposite before using this miracle oil. TRY IT TRY IT TRY IT!!!!!!! You have to!

Pros:

skin is softer
clears acne
a lot of pros

Cons:

Doesn't absorb too quickly, so take caution if you use it right before going out

My skin works well with nature made products, and this is all natural. Like it says, your skin thinks of the jojoba oil as its own, so it works really well. I found this to work well on my face as well as the rest of my body (I have eczema). Just be careful and do not use it right before you have somewhere to be, because it may not absorb in time. Even if it doesn't work on your face, there are other uses, and it won't leave any marks or make your skin worse.
