Pros:

helps with inflammation

Cons:

very oily

I don't recommend using this alone. I mix it up with aloe mostly aloe. Whip it up until it turns into a white lotiony substance, and use this as a moisturizer. This helps a lot sometimes I mix a few drops of tea tree oil as well but i dont do this regularly, about once a week. Aloe alone is too drying and jojoba alone is too oily for me but together they are both awesome.

Pros:

great for use on hair and body

Cons:

clogged my pores resulting in blackheads

I had such high hopes for this one. After the third day I could feel little bumps but I figured I'd persist and give it time. Jojoba oil never broke me out, however it did clog my pores and caused many tiny blackheads to develop. It could be due to the fact that I have HUGE pores and oily skin. Maybe it seeped into my big pores and hardened up? Overall though it seems like it would be a good fit for others. Most oils and creams I put on my face (sunscreens included) break me out. The jojoba oil didn't have that effect and I think that says alot about it. I gave it three stars because it's been working well for me as a beard conditioner and body moisturizer. I've also made some scented body oils by adding patchouli and lavender to small bottles of jojoba. Great gift idea.

Pros:

Very moisturizing
Doesn't clog pores
Multi-use (lip balm)
Works well in conjunction w/ moisturizer

Cons:

Doesn't absorb well
Expensive

I enjoy this product. I use it everyday and it helps control flakiness. It is a great addition to my Cetaphil moisturizer. I would recommend this product, but not as an exfoliator because of the unnecessary iritaa

Pros:

Cheap, works well for decreasing oil production on the face (I have very oily skin), makes skin softer, no odors, quick to apply, less pimples, I put 2-3 drops on my fingers and rub it into dry, clean skin

Cons:

Original bottle that the Desert Essence Jojoba oil comes is terrible, leaky and not easy to control - must put it in another bottle if you want to use it regularly

I have always had very oily skin - esp on and around the nose and on the forehead. Over the years, I found that astringents/soaps cuts the oil temporarily but my skin seems to have this amazing ability to produce oil so that I'm shiny again in 10-15min (so frustrating!!!), there'd be so much oil that my glasses slide off my face. I also have some problematic acne on my chin and temples. I started using Jojoba oil consistently about 2 wks ago and the oil production has dropped greatly - it seems that the jojoba oil mimics sebum so that my face stops making so much of it. My skin hasn't been softer, smoother, less oily and pimplefree since about 5th grade. There are still days that I do get very oily when I've particularly stressed but on average, oil production is down 75% or so. I just started using it on my scalp too (added to conditioner) to see if this can help cut oil production on my scalp!

Pros:

Very pleasant feel on the skin. Helped cure a bout of dermatitis brought on by mineral oil cleanser. Great for cleaning face and taking off make up as well as for facial massages. Makes skin radiant and soft.

Cons:

It isn't a panacea. (duh!)

Has improved overall condition. Skin looks much better, and the zits I've developed since starting this regime (jojoba as cleanser, not as an alternative moisturizer), stayed small (instead of getting the usual cysts) and most often just cleared away without inflammation.

Pros:

All natural moisturizer that helps control natural oil production and in turn helps with acne. It's really affordable since you only need a few drop of oil a day. This oil has many other uses for the body also and makes skin feel very soft.

Cons:

I experienced an initial breakout when I first started. Not the nasty red sensative pimples that I usually get but tiny white bumps that cleared up right after the break out. Can make your skin look greasy until the oil is absorbed.

This oil (it's actually a wax ester) really smoothed out my skin and actually made my skin less oily (ironic huh?). Jojoba is almost like sebum so when you continuously put it on your skin, it decreases your natural oil production. Drying out your skin with face washes and all that other stuff just made my skin oily. This is all I use on my skin now and it has really helped my acne. At night before bed and after showers, I get a cotton round and place 4 to 8 drops. I then rub it on my face. I had perfect skin this summer but when school started I started getting a few pimples because I haven't been getting enough sleep. Nothing nearly as bad as before. Jojoba oil works even better when tea tree oil is mixed in. It's been about 6 monthes and I still have my first small bottle.

For men i recomend to use it before shave, massage your beard with the jojoba oil and then apply your shave cream it leaves your face smooth and beautiful after the shave! Plus add it in your daily moisturizer cream for a better hidratation
