I really wanted this to work
I really wanted this to work for me, but using it after a week i got hives and itchiness. I realized that when i use this alone on my face i get a reaction, hence i now use it in small portions as part of my oatmeal scrub. PLEASE patch test for a week. Not even one day, but a WEEK. it took me a week to get hives and find out i had a reaction. I beg you guys to do a patch test, and keep doing a patch test for a while.

Do you think you might be allergic to Honey?
December 3, 2015
@Samuraitiger No, i am not allergic to honey. It just didnt work well for my skin.

You must have used the wrong type of honey. If you are allergic, most likely the honey you used is cheap quality. Anything less then 7 bucks is not legit raw honey, nor is anything with the grade A label on it. Try Really Raw Honey dude, I used to get redness from honey from Trader Joe's and other brands, but this RRH does not make my face red at all.

Pros:

Clears Face
Makes Face so smooth
inhibits acne growth

Cons:

drips
sticky

THIS IS AMAZINGG! I've only used this product for one day and the results are immediate! I'm 18 now, and I had clear skin for all my life. I randomly broke out 3 months ago, and I had these horrible dark marks on my face from the aftermath of acne. I would keep getting random pimples on my lower cheek, and chin. It was horrible. Yesterday I was looking through this site and saw how honey is very good to prevent acne and clear up scars. What I did was take 2 tablespoons of clover honey and mixed it with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon . I applied it to my whole face 2 hours before I was going to sleep, and washed it off with luke warm water. Then before going to sleep, I did a spot treatment and applied it to my acne scars and my 2 acne pimples for the whole night. I woke up the next day to find that one of my pimples poped while being immersed in the honey mixture, and the acne itself disappeared! IT WAS AWESOME. so happy! my scars are already fading, and i woke up with such a clear and soft complexion. I didn't even wear makeup today cause, I felt like my skin looked good. Also because I didn't want to ruin my skin by applying makeup to clog my pores! I am definitely going to try this every night now! I will keep everyone posted on the quality of my skin with this treatment! THANK GOD FOR HONEY!

Pros:

Leaves skin moisturised
Very gentle for dry skin
Natural, no toxic chemicals
Brightens skin
Fades hyperpigmentation
Reduces papules
Brings active spots to a head quickly
Incredibly effective at making popped spots and scabs heal fast
Completely prevents newly popped spots scabbing over

Cons:

Very sticky and messy

I have a hard time finding acne treatments because I have very dry skin, and all the chemical treatments I tried (including Clean&Clear and metronidazole) just dried it out further and made my skin horribly flaky and dull. Because of this I switched to a 100% natural skincare regime using raw honey every day as a mask for an hour or two in the evenings, and my skin has improved /so/ much. The honey has completely cleared up the patches of flaky skin and leaves it soft and glowing, which is the main benefit I've found. As far as the acne goes, it works, but not spectacularly. It isn't a miracle treatment and it won't make spots vanish before your eyes, but it will help bring down those tiny little acne bumps and bring any deeper spots you have to the surface. What really surprises me is that it seems to be an amazing healer! On occasions when I've been stupid and tried to pop spots that don't want to come out, creating abrasions that would normally leave a big scab on my face for a week or so... putting honey on it immediately makes it heal up literally overnight. It nearly always prevents scabbing altogether, just leaving a clean pink mark that's easy to hide with a dab of concealer. And it will hugely speed up the healing process for ones that have already scabbed over, too.

Pros:

easy to access, very affordable, actually works!

Cons:

runny, sticky, a bit annoying to have on.

Having mild acne and moderate scarring throughout my late teens and early twenties (I am now 21) you could imagine that I have tried every single product on the market (and no, this is NOT an exaggeration!), spent thousands of dollars and none of them seemed to do anything but make my skin red and create more pimples than I had in the first place and the scar creams seemed to not make a difference at all! I am very pleased to say that this really and truely works! I have only been using it for two days and the result after just the first day has just astounded me! It's a miracle! so now I thoroughly wash my face with a milk cleanser to get rid of the make up, put on my honey mask and leave it on for as long as I can, whenever I can! I do not tone and moisturise after because I feel that my skin is already at the correct PH level and is softer than ever before! So I've stopped buying those other expensive products too! What a lifesaver! I have no pimples at all on my face and the scars

Simply Wonderful
I have a bumpy complection (I highly suspect it's closed comedones but I haven't been to a doctor about it) for quite a while, and it's incredibly frustrating because nothing ever seems to help. Awhile ago I started to regulate my regimen better (wash face in the morning and at night with mild soap, exfoliate every 3 days) and it did help a little, but I would be nowhere near where I am today if I hadn't started to put honey on my face. I get the best results if I leave it on overnight, (you need to cover your face with something if you do this or the honey will just smear off and get everywhere. I haven't figured out the best way to do this yet, but cutting gauze or kleenex and taping it where I put the honey works well enough for me.) and wash it off in the morning, rather than only leaving it on for 20 minutes during the day. I recommend 3 nights a week, or as long as you can when you're awake (an hour is good) if your skin is red, it works wonders for redness (perhaps because honey antibacterial and anti-inflammatory). For me it takes a while to clear my skin up if it's already bumpy, it works best if your pimples/bumps/what-have-you are still small. I will admit its not a perfect 'cure' (it obviously won't clear your skin up overnight), but if you stick to it (pun intended) you might just be amazed.

Pros:

Fades red marks
Heals popped pimples really quickly
Makes your skin really soft
Honey does not expire

Cons:

Makes a terrible mess on bed sheets and clothes
Has to be left on for a while

Honey works great to lighten up acne scars on your face. It definately wont fade them completely but it will make them very unnoticeable. Use the honey mask as much as you can, it really does nothing but good for your face. I dont think it does anything for active pimples but it definately keeps any new pimples from forming. If you ever pop a pimple, definately apply honey to it right away and you will find it heals so much quicker (sometimes within a day) The problem is that the honey has to be left on for a very long time to be truly effective. While you sleep is perfect expect that it will definately leave a mess. One time, I used the honey mask for an entire weeked excpet for about 4 hours and by monday my skin was almost completely clear.

Pros:

Made my big pimples smaller.
Made skin softer.
Non irritating.
Smells good and taste good.

Cons:

Can be a bit sticky and messy. (Buts that's a small price to pay for clearer skin)

Well everyone says you have to use raw honey for this and you do/should since it will have all its healing properties. Honey worked pretty well for me. There are so many ways you can use honey to help clear your skin, but I just put it on my big pimples and watch them get smaller.

Pros:

- makes your skin feel very soft
- moisturizes your skin
- helps to reduce redness
- when used with yogurt made skin look much less irritated and more refreshed

Cons:

- sticky and at bit messy
- didnt clear pimples (not sure if it was suppose to)
- can't really sleep with overnight, but good for before you shower or go to bed

I saw reviews for this and decided to try it. The first time I just put it on my chin area and put it on by itself and it did help reduce redness and moisturized but was very sticky and felt kinda gross. So I decided to mix it with plain yogurt and it felt much nicer and I decided to put it on my WHOLE face. Wow after my skin looked so fresh and redness was reduced alot! Basically use yogurt with it, it works better and feels nicer :)

Pros:

Helps bring down cystic acne and leaves skin baby soft!

Cons:

None really. For me, I usually just use it as a cleanser mixed with fine sea salt, acv, warm water, lemon juice, and aloe vera. I leave it on as a mask if I have time.

If you don't like the stickiness then mix it with a bit of warm water or something and it significantly helps. The pros outweigh the cons for me so I'm going to continue with my regimen.
