Hmm.
No. I have applied highly active (30+) Manuka to my face before... It was a nice facemask and I felt like it may have smoothed the skin a little... but does it help with acne? No.

BEWARE
Honey is incredibly comedogenic (makes you break out to high heaven). Years ago I thought I had found the holy grail.. but I cannot express enough how bad this clogs your pores. I have had many estheticians, naturopath doctors, and chiropractors tell me the same (to my dismay at the time). Please don't stick this stuff on your skin. :C

Pros:

Smelled lovely.

Cons:

Made my entire face tight and red, very red.
Very messy.

I made a mask from honey and 2 mashed up aspirin tabs. I left it on for about fifteen then washed it off with warm water. Once I dried my face on a towel and looked in the mirror I saw that my entire face was bright red. After a minute or two it felt like my face was being stretched tightly. I don't know if the problem was in the honey or the aspirin but this was not successful at all!

It made my acne worse unfortunately, despite all of the positive stories

I had such good hopes with honey. I read a lot of positive reviews, so I started using it, every night for some weeks. I would sleep with the honey on my face. I used organic honey. It didn't clear up my acne unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. It didn't make pimples go away faster and didn't reduce redness. It even made my acne worse, I got a lot of small, red and pus-filled pimples on my chin and upper lip. Also I'd still get big painful under the skin bumps (which would become visible in 2 days and would take some days to go away). Here's a picture of when I still used honey on my face (you can see the honey), but it doesn't show it that well, it looked worse in the mirror: [link edited out] removed] decided to stop using honey. I then also cut out all dairy from my diet (I read dairy can worsen or even cause acne) and reduced my suger intake dramatically (so no more Coke etc.), because I read suger also has a negative effect on acne. I also started desinfecting my skin with rubbing alcohol after I popped a pimple so I would prevent bacteria from spreading. I do use mineral foundation powder as make-up, cause I still have some tiny marks left. It's special mineral powder that claims to reduce acne. It doesn't clog pores (so it says and I believe it really doesn't, because even though I use the powder on my face everyday, I get very few new pimples now) My skin now looks like this (without make-up), it's almost completely clear, especially my chin, but my upper lip has also improved a lot (just one or two pimples when I took the pic): [link edited out] removed]

Pros:

-Tasted good
-Smelled sweet

Cons:

-Left skin even redder
-Did nothing for my scars or active breakouts

I did only use an at-home honey mask one time, so I may not be the best person to discuss it. However, the reason I used it only once was because my skin was left even redder than it already is from my acne scars. I do, though, have very sensitive skin, so that could be a contributing factor as to why it left my skin irritated. I have heard that it truly does work for many people, but it did not at all have the affect I was hoping for on me. If you have sensitive skin, I would not recommend this.

Pros:

easy to find
easy to apply

Cons:

made my skin blotchy and red with in five min!
i took it off as soon as i noticed
it did no permanent damage, but if you are going to try this for the first time check the mirror to make sure this isnt happening to you!

May not work for everyone, so dont be so carefree!
