Pros:

keeps acne under control, overall healthy for body

Cons:

green tea still contains caffeine, "grassy" taste of some green teas

I've been drinking a variety of green and white teas for years. It's part of my daily routine now, to drink 2-3 10oz glasses a day. I remember when I first started, after about a month or so, the effects were dramatic - green tea seemed to purify my skin and it really showed. Now, I get the occasional pimple, but I know my acne would be a LOT worse if I didn't drink green day everyday. Plus there are many clinical studies out there that claim green tea is good for your overall health, so why not try it?

Pros:

Tastes good!
Might be healthful.

Cons:

Hope that none.

I have just started drinking green tea. My skin broke up a week ago, and I am looking for ways to clear it. I will update in a week if it works.

Pros:

I've had moderate acne, with painful cysts. The red marks were the worst. I live a healthy lifestyle, eat a healthy diet, exercise, etc. I tried everything from proactive, diet changes, using ocean water, oxy bars, and so on. Nothing worked, and any medications like bp and s. acid just irritated my face and made the red marks worse. I have been drinking green tea (roughly 4 cups a day) for about 2-3 weeks and using it as a topical treatment. Im now 70% clear and only get small pimples.

Cons:

none

USE IT! nothing else worked for me. I tried everything. Im getting clearer everyday, and my scars are slowly disappearing. TRY IT OUT!

Pros:

Cheap, convenient, I think it tastes good. Does its job.

Cons:

If I drink it on an empty stomach I get super nauseous.

I had acne in high school but not in college. I graduated college two and a half years ago and my acne has been worse than ever. I started thinking, what was different in college? I was more stressed, more tired, and ate crummier foods, so why did my skin look pretty good most of the time? I realized that in college I drank about five cups of green tea a day. I wonder why I stopped. For a few days I've been drinking it like crazy and my skin is already starting to clear up even though I have pms (a time when nothing works). Drink it! It's so good for you.

Pros:

Reduces inflammation, redness and duration of acne.

Cons:

Must drink about 3 10oz cups a day for it to work.

I've been drinking green tea now for about a month. 3/10oz cups of unsweetened warm Japanese green tea. Saw reduction of pimples and redness in about 10 days. Noticed a drastic reduction in redness at about a month.Cyst acne doesn't get quite as inflamed.(Do not pick at it!) Worth a try, I'd say my acne reduced by about 30% overall and redness reduced by about 50%. I'd strongly suggest using the tea in combo with a gentle cleanser (basis bar..etc), slightly warm water and no topical toners with alcohol. My acne and the associated overall redness improved when I stopped using so many chemicals and was gentle with my skin. You'll probably have similar results.

Pros:

- Exfoliating
- Soothing
- Natural
- Dries up Pimples, not entire face
- Smells great!

Cons:

- a little messy (but who cares!)

After a couple weeks of drinking 3-4 cups a day of green tea, I've started using it as a topical treatment. After drinking my tea (with a bit of honey) I mix the leaves in with my benzol peroxide cleanser, it's soothing, exfoliating and drys up pimples... it's incredible!!!

Pros:

it really does help get rid of acne from the inside out. it also works ok topically, like rubbing the tea bag on your face. doing that dried out my face a little bit though

Cons:

taste nasty!!!!! the taste makes me want to puke! but adding lemon juice or honey helps it not taste so bad. and you have to drink like 4 or 5 cups a day for it to work so you people who are drinking like one cup a week shouldnt even be writing reviews cause your making green tea look like it doesnt work just cause your using it wrong!

its not a cure unless you have mind acne but drinking 4 for 5 cups a day along with a topical regimine will probably help clear you up. but the reason i stoped drinking it is cause it just taste so nasty to me and it started staining my teeth

*For some people, the taste

I have been drinking green tea for about a month, and have seen great results... I drink this 2-5 times each day (I don't mind the taste at all) and It not only makes my skin clear and soft, but it keeps me calm and relaxed... perfect to drink right before going to bed.
