Pros:

cheap
tastes great
healthy

Cons:

none!

I drink 4 cups of decaf. green tea from various brands such as Yogi and Lipton and it has done wonders to my skin!!! First off i think it tastes great and i prefer decaf because i can enjoy it just before bed time. It also has amazing health benefits and flushes out your whole system. If you haven't yet, pick up a box of green tea at your local store. You'll be surprised at how fast the results are.

Pros:

- Softens skin
- Significantly reduces redness & inflammation
- Evens skin tone, seems to reduce dark circles under eyes

Cons:

- Can be itchy and drying when applied topically

Don't bother with brand-name bagged teas (Lipton, Tetley etc.). Instead, buy loose leaf teas and bag your own if you like to use it topically. I drink over a litre of green tea per day; I brew it in the morning, take a shower, then wipe the tea bag all over my face before moisturizing. It does seem to dry my skin out a little. However, after only a minute or so, any redness is noticeably reduced and it makes skin feel really soft. While I haven't noticed any big differences in acne, my skin just looks a healthier, happier and less irritated. It might be a bit of a placebo effect, but I think it also reduces dark circles under my eyes. Just a side note - polyphenols and antioxidants are great for you, but in very large amounts they are harmful to your liver and kidneys. This is rarely an issue when drinking it, but if you're taking green tea extract supplements (usually pills), you may want to do some research on this.

Pros:

I've had moderate acne, with painful cysts. The red marks were the worst. I live a healthy lifestyle, eat a healthy diet, exercise, etc. I tried everything from proactive, diet changes, using ocean water, oxy bars, and so on. Nothing worked, and any medications like bp and s. acid just irritated my face and made the red marks worse. I have been drinking green tea (roughly 4 cups a day) for about 2-3 weeks and using it as a topical treatment. Im now 70% clear and only get small pimples.

Cons:

none

USE IT! nothing else worked for me. I tried everything. Im getting clearer everyday, and my scars are slowly disappearing. TRY IT OUT!

Pros:

soothes skin, provides a healthy glow, makes my blackheads surface

Cons:

I don't really like the taste of green tea; for me it is more of an acquired taste.

I really like what green tea is doing for my skin. I usually drink 4 cups of green tea in every evening. I also apply the tea (at room temperature) to my face with a flat cotton pad. Drinking it and applying it directly has helped me so much with my acne prone skin. I notice less acne, inflammation, and redness. After I rub the green tea with a flat cotton pad on my face my skin gets a nice healthy glow; it really soothes my skin. I like the effects of green tea on my skin so far and I hope it can continue to help me with this acne battle and help me restore my skin.

Pros:

Acne gone...Face is smooth and glowing.

Cons:

None at all

I started rubbing tea bags on my face when I heard it works as a self tanner because I am really pale. I repeated this three times before I went to bed and my face and my face ad the most amazing glow ever!! (Tea actually stains your skin!!) I used it with a lotion to let it go deep into my skin. The next morning my skin was incredibly soft and my acne had cleared away! I couldnt believe my eyes!! I am in love!!! I am going to start drinking it for further benefits!

Pros:

-Really stopped my skin from getting too oilly.

-Made my skin feel smoother after about a week.

Cons:

You have to drink about 3 cups a day for about 1-3 weeks to see any effect.

The taste isn't enjoyable.

My Suggestions: A lot of the time I'd either be rushing and not have time for a cup, or else just forget. I really recommend giving yourself a certain time for each cup. (I take mine a few minutes after breakfast, lunch and dinner). Bottom line, it reduces redness on your face and stops skin from getting very oilly.

Pros:

Works great as a topical treatment. Easy to make and can be very cheap. Healthy to drink too. Doesn't dry out your skin like Benzoyl Peroxide.

Cons:

Be aware that drinking too much caffeine can increase oil production in the skin. A few cups a day shouldn't have any effect though. Green tea has around 1/3rd the amount of caffeine that coffee does.

Use it. The pros obviously out-weigh the cons.

Pros:

Works Amazingly!

Cons:

NONE!

I had SEVERE acne. When I say severe..I MEAN SEVERE. In one day, the redness, bumpiness of my acne was completely gone. This is what I did. First, I drank 3 cups of unsweetened and uncaffeinated green tea throughout the day. At night time, I made a small paste using turmeric powder, skim milk, and the main ingredient was green tea. What I did was rip open the last teabag I used for the day and I poured half of it into the paste and mixed it. Then I applied the paste and let it dry for 30 mins. I washed it off and I saw the results immediately. I hope this is a long-term remedy because I am doing this EVERY night! No new breakouts for the past 2 weeks and my skin looks better than ever.

not every green tea have the same effect
search for the 'gun powder' Chinese tea, it's the most effective one. 2 cups a day worked for me.

Drink 2X a Day!
I have incorporated drinking green tea two times a day in addition to distilled water and my morning starbucks coffee. For the past YEAR or so, I have been suffering with hormonal acne. I noticed that I break out more during the winter because in the summer I tan regularly and my skin clears. Because of the embarrassing outbreaks which have made me extremely self conscious, I decided to take drastic measures without going to the dermatologist. I googled and googled holistic acne remedies and I have used a combination of things to bring my inflammation down. My skin is not perfect and not where I want it to be but it has only been two weeks and it is looking WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than it did last month. I will admit I was eating bad, and had a semi crisis within my family which caused HIGH level of stress and made my inflammation WORSE. Green Tea is not the ALL END to acne, IT IS ONE STEP. Green Tea is an overall HEALTH benefit, but definitely helps with skin. This is what I drink: -1 Grande REGULAR COFFEE w/soy milk From Starbucks. (NO SUGAR, NO NOTHING) Occasionally I add cinnamon. Coffee helps you poop. Do not add sugar. I sometimes brew my own ORGANIC COFFEE. -Juice either beets or spinach- Mix with green apple. -1 to 2 cups of ORGANIC GREEN TEA W/HONEY -Drink DISTILLED WATER through the DAY -TAKE WHOLEFOOD MULTI-VITAMIN, 1 ZINC, 1VITAMIND, 1 VITAMIN A with a meal -Drink 1-2 Cups of DECAF Green Tea at night. I do not take the vitamin A everyday. (codliver oil) I alter with flax seed oil at night sometimes. All my vitamins come from Whole Foods and are "food based". When I am not being lazy, I will juice celery and mix it with orange juice. I try to eat an avocado a day. I also mix a avocado /banana and make mask and let it sit on my face . As you can see, I use a wide range of methods. The key is to be consistent. Within the last two weeks, my acne has cleared up and confident it will be completely clear by the end of this month. The key are the vitamins and organic FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES. The bottom line is, YES GREEN TEA WORKS. Incorporate this INEXPENSIVE herb into your diet NOW! One more thing, My was regime--I wash my face with olive oil and/or coconut oil at night. Sleep with coconut oil and/add retina A and your skin will love you!
