Pros:

brightens skin
makes you FEEL better
reduces reddness in pimples
reduces pimples
prevents pimples

Cons:

absolutely none

Lately I have been feeling that if nature gives you certain ailments (acne) nature can also provide you with a solution. Therefore instead of constantly bombarding my skin with synthetic crap, I would try a natural route. This is my regimen: in the moring i wake up and wash my face with a regular old cleanser, rinse with cold water, then take a cold green tea bag ( i keep them refrigerated after i steep them)and wipe it all over my face. Then I open the bag and use the leaves to gently exfoliate my skin, and leave it on for 30 mins. Then I rinse my face with cold water again, and apply another round of greentea swiping.followed by a gentle moisturizer at night I wash my face as usual but rinse with warm water, followed by swiping a WARM tea bag over my face and using a moisturizer. Throughout the day I also drink about 3-4 cups of green tea. due to PMS and stress I had 2 HUGE cystic pimples pop up on my cheek. Since using this regimen for 2 days they are almost completely flat and much less red and are no longer sore (they were originally so red and sore they were purple)

Pros:

cleared up acne, reduced inflamation & readness a A LOT fast, and made the brown spots I get after a pimple a lot smaller and lighter, lost 3 pounds this week.

Cons:

Will keep you up all night if you drink it before lying down.

This works great! I drink the tea instead of loading up on just water (which did nothing for my acne) I also bought some green tea pills which I break open mix with water and rub on my face (this is when I REALLY saw a reduction in redness and pimple lifespan) Be careful leavin this on b/c I think it stains my face yellow (not sure though since I am yellow (MAC NC40) it could be I forgot what my natural skintone looked like since I did a Glycolic Peel 30% on way too long and it left me beet red for 2 days. I have also been mixing tea tree oil with noxzema to kill the bacteria (some ppl are allergic to tea tree so be careful) Tea tree works so much better than 5% peroxide for me which made my brown spots darker Recap: Glycolic Peel - deep cleans, dissolves oil, prevents pores from cloggin Tea Tree - Kills bacteria with out killin skin (works great for dandruf 2 Green Tea - antioxident, reduces inflamation/redness, reduces spots after pimple, brightens skin ,

Pros:

Been drinking green tea and cut down on dairy and have seen a massive difference. Even during time of the month, I have only had small breakouts. I really recommend green tea, as it is the ONLY thing to have helped in all these years of trying stuff

Cons:

No cons. Aswell as skin benefits, there are benefits to general health too, such as protection against cancer, lower blood pressure, high levels of anti-oxidents. Brilliant, I love it.

If you have acne, DRINK GREEN TEA. I am currently drinking between 5-6 small cups a day and find that it has cleared my skin up a treat. I think this combined with cutting down on dairy products has been a miracle cure for me. Try it.

Pros:

reduces redness, softens skin, organic, AND TASTES GOOD.

Cons:

Makes you pee a lot, and since I also drink green tea at school, a lot of my teachers think I have some sort of bladder problem. :/

Love it. Natural way to clear skin. I've used SO many products and most of them seemed to make my skin worse. I drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day. Only one cup or none will be caffienated so I don't bounce of the walls :). I rub a bag damped with cold water in the morning and before I go to bed. I used to have an average amount of acne, but now I only get a pimple once and a while. With the help of green tea I get rid of those fast to! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.

Pros:

Putting it on my skin has helped where nothing else has. It is inexpensive compared to pricey department store products and prescriptions.

Cons:

NONE!

I am a 30 year old female, and I have been suffering from acne for a long time, since I was 24 or so. Recently got on Yaz BC and it seemed worse, though really it has been bad for long before that. One day I ran out of my expensive Clinique acne cleanser and picked up something I thought was similar at the drugstore. It was Neutragena Stress Relief Foam, and when I washed my face with it, I noticed immediately it was less red and much more smooth. I read the ingredients and realized it is the green tea in the cleanser. Since then I have gone out and bought tea bags and steep them and apply to my face. It really helps; I feel like I have hope now after nothing working for so long and feeling so so sad and worried about my face!! And something so simple too! Wow.

Pros:

you feel great! soft skin! helps with using the bathroom.

Cons:

lots of farts...

I've had acne problems for over 14 years. I did everything I could and spent so much money on products that worked only while I was on it. I even got on birth control but once you get off of it your acne comes back with a vengeance. I noticed that when I didn't drink sodas my face was fine but once i've had a can of coca cola i'd wake up with 2 new zits. I decided to cut off all fast food and sodas. I just started drinking green about 3 weeks ago. I have about 2 cups a day and drink about 6-8 cups of water. I try to stay stress free as well and not look at the mirror. I aslo noticed that the more I worried about my acne the wrose it got. exercise also helps I run for about 10 mins at least 3 times a week if I have time. The best way is to clean from within as well. I haven't gotten any zits for over a week!

Great for glowing skin and general body detox!
Hi everyone! Drinking green tea for me is an acquired taste. I personally dont like the bittersweet leafy green taste but I have to admit that it does give my face a natural bright glow; a glow similar to like a person would have after exercising. So despite the taste, I would still drink 2-3 teabags worth daily. I have adult acne meaning I only started to have horrible cystic hormonal acne, lots of whiteheads and noticeable blackheads, tiny bumps and a lot of redness around my T zone and cheeks area in my mid 30s. Prior to that, I had the normal occasional PMS acne from time to time. Otherwise, my skin was spotless, even toned and soft like a baby's bottom. Sun exposure without protection, high stress due to work and unhealthy lifestyle would be the main culprits. So since then I have been making a lot of changes to my skincare regime, doing my own online research and that's how I found this great community website acne.org. to be one of the most useful. Generally imho, the large chunk of acne cure works by fighting from inwards rather than outwards. So eating healthy food and drink is the way to go. Everybody knows drinking a lot of water and liquid is great for our general health. But I didn't know how serious it is until recently that dairy products is not one of them! I love drinking milk and milktea! Well now that I know, that explains a lot! Coming back to green tea. This is the part where I would like to write about caution. The type of green tea that I use and found to be consistently great for my skin is Japanese green tea of the sencha type. Not matcha. Sencha is robust and made of matured tea leaves, exposed to sun (vitamin D). It is also cheaper and affordable for daily consumption. Matcha on the other hand is more delicate and leafs are filtered from the sun to make it greener. While it presumably has more vitamins packed and higher anti oxidants, a quality matcha can cost 3-4 or more times more than sencha. It is pricey and if you can afford it, why not? From my personal experience, drinking matcha for a month did not help my acne. Infact, more huge cystic acne were formed and made it worse. It hurt so much that some it grew so big, it popped on its own, puss and blood were flowing down my cheeks without me realizing. I have never had cystic acne this horrible. Thankfully this happened at home, else it would have been so embarassing in public! Some people mentioned to me, that's the body detoxing and purging the toxins through the skin. I think whatever that was in matcha was too potent for me. Maybe for others it would not be a problem, so I'd say, drink it with caution. I have since stopped drinking matcha and came back to just drinking lots of plain water and lots of sencha. Never fails me in giving the healthy glow that I want. Drinking green tea helps in overall good skin appearance. Try it 2-3 cups, hot or cold, and plenty of water to flush out the toxins, drink daily for a week or so, results are noticeable.

Blemishes reduced to 60%
I have been suffering from chronic acne since the age of 12. I am 30 today. I have tried all possible products in the market , spent too much money but couldnt get the result green tea gave me. What eventually worked for me are these things: 1.egg white mask + lemon -> helps close pores and help with glowing skin 2.green tea-> helps reduce blemishes on both side of my cheeks. i saw the difference in 2 weeks. sipping 2 cups each day (i am fond of pure jasmine green tea) 3.on weekends i try to get little more than 8 hours of sleep (this closes my pores) 4. apply toothpaste on a pimple overnight (allows pimple to dry out) 5. use st ives apricot scrub (works best to scrub dead cells away and polish my skin) What I am still not able to resolve are: 1.i have a blackheads on my cheeks that is there for past couple of months and none of the things i have tried until now including baking soda have been able to wipe it out. Any suggestions here are welcome, please!!
