Pros:

Its a good cleanser if you have extremely sensitive skin. Affordable and easily available in all stores.

Cons:

If you have oily/combination skin it doesn't take off the oil much. After 4 or 5 hours my face is dull and t-zone is oily.

Its a good cleanser if you have dry sensitive skin. But if yoy have oily skin/combination skin it this is not the best product as it does not remove all the oil ....I learnt that there is another cetaphil for oily/combination skin but I never see it in the shelves in stores...

Pros:

Works very well for acne. Not to drying. Almost flawless...but...

Cons:

...I get a nasty skin rash after drinking alcohol and in cold weather.

-Ive used cetaphil for about a year now- on and off - mainly due to the fact its so damn good for acne. But about 3 months ago i started getting a severe rash on my face after drinking alcohol and if the weather got a bit chilly. Thinking it was something else (allergies, food, even drinking tea) i underwent trials to find out what it was, with no success. In a last ditch effort, i switched facewash- to clearasil would you believe + the effects went away. No kidding. I was fine. Ive tried cetaphil recently to see if it was a 'one off', but in two days and after one beer, there it was, again. Ive chased it up-cetaphil has a chemical called 'sodium lauryl sulphate' thats a well known abrasive-even strong clearasil products use the milder version 'sodium laurETH sulphate'. Im gutted to have to stop to using it+if ur ok, then dont let this put you off! But i thought it best to throw it out there in case anyone is experiencing the same thing!

Pros:

Smoothign on skin, not harsh at all!
Plus, its economically affordable :)

Cons:

I guess its more of an acne-preventive solution than the much hoped-for of an acne-curing cleanser ...

Gotta give it a try! I was suscribing to a local dermatologist's independant medications and started switching on the day i left for thailand on a holiday. This cleanser managed to kept me acne-free even though i was expecting some to sprout out due to the sudden change in cleanser and coupled with the humid weather in thailand. So far so good, hasnt given me any problems excepts for a few pastules (< 3) Give it a try at least and you should see quite satisfactory results pretty soon!

Good Gentle Cleanser
The product outcome reiterates the title. '¢Gentle cleanser; recommended for sensitive or dry skin types. '¢Do not really recommend if you are looking for this cleanser to clear your skin of acne. '¢Will not cause redness due to irritation. '¢Does not strip the skin. '¢No fragrance. '¢ Quite inexpensive, starting at around $14.99 (Disclaimer: I believe you should alternate between this cleanser and another Cetaphil cleanser [Oily-Skin cleanser] so the skin does not form any resistance to the product.)

Good Product
I used to use this product everyday for a year as my morning and night facial cleanser... it didn't dry out my skin and got rid of any excess oils. I didn't really find that helped me (personally) to keep acne away; it simply kept what I had from getting worse. If you want to get rid of acne, I suggest using something else. However, as a daily wash to get rid of oil build up, this is a great product!

from moderate acne to light

Pros:

no fragrance
gentle on my skin
helped my acne

been using this product for two weeks. Its very gentle on my skin and I think my skin looks healthy now. It made my skin oily however it's tolerable. After washing my face using this product, i wait for about 30-45 min to apply a sulfur cream, because i have read on some blog that if your skin is still damp when your apply something, it will be irritated, when it's irritated, more acne will form.

Pros:

Smooths Skin Amazingly!
Helps With Redness.
Doesn't Dry Out Skin.
Very Inexpensive For The Amount That You Get.

Cons:

Doesn't Remove Makeup Very Well.

I had read a lot of reviews on this cleanser, but had never actually gotten round to buying it, as I figured it would do the same as every other cleanser. I had been using Nutrogena Acne Stress Control, for about 6 months, and had no problem with it, except that it made my skin quite red. Anyway I ran out of that a few weeks ago, and saw Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser at the supermarket, so I figured I'd give it a go. My acne is moderate, I get breakouts on my chin, and a few on my cheeks, and a lot of redness on my forehead. After just a few days of using this, I noticed a huge improvement in my skin, not so much with the acne, but with the redness! I thought my acne was quite bad, until I saw my face without redness and realised it wasn't as bad as I thought. My skin feels so much smoother, and 90% of the redness has completely gone! The first couple of days, I did notice it was giving me a few more pimples on my chin, but I have heard from a lot of people that it will get worse before it gets better, as it pulls up all the bacteria out of your skin. I stopped using it for a few days, and tried a Nivea Cleanser, as I was worried about those new pimples, but then my skin just got red and irritated, so I went back to the Cetaphil and I love it! My acne is slowly clearing up, and it is amazing how smooth my skin feels! Bottom line is, I love this cleanser. I will update again after I have been using it for a month or two, but so far I really like it. I do recommend!
