Pros:

-makes skin feel soft and smooth
-non comedogenic
-extremely gentle

Cons:

none

This is the best product that i have ever used for my skin. I suffered from moderately severe acne, and tried almost every OTC product and facewashes to clear up my skin.Nothing helped. In fact, some of the cleansers irritated my skin and completely dried out my face.. I gave Cetaphil a try, and fell in love with it. Cetaphil salvaged my skin, and does not aggravate/ irritate my acne. I use it twice everyday, along with other dermatologist-prescribed topical drugs and my condition has greatly improved. Thanks to Cetaphil!! I would recommend this product to anybody who has sensitive/dry skin and suffers from acne.

Pros:

-gentle
-nonirritating
-hydrating
-smoothing
-doesn't cause breakouts
-easy to rinse
-bottle is huge
-works very well with my regimen

Cons:

-contains SLS and parabens (doesn't really matter, though, because it's only on the skin for 10 seconds)

I LOVE CETAPHIL. It's the only thing I put on my skin! I use 4 Cetaphil products at the moment--this, the moisturizing cream as a moisturizer, and the Restoraderm body wash and body moisturizer for my dry skin on my body. I remember 3 years ago when my mother gave me some of this and told me to start washing my face. This is when I didn't have any acne, but my skin was getting oilier. I was using this for years and barely ever got a zit, but then I went on a three week trip and forgot to bring it. They didn't have any at the store where we were, so I got Clean and Clear and St. Ives. HUGE mistake. This is when I started breaking out, about a year and a half ago. Since then, I was switching products all the time and using tons of spot treatments and different regimens that would end up damaging my skin. I even tried making my own cleanser, haha. I FINALLY came to my senses and went back to Cetaphil. I got on 0.025% Retin-A and use this and the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream and my skin is clear again! *A lot of people expect this cleanser to clear up their acne completely, but it probably won't. Sometimes, this works wonders for people, but don't use this alone and just expect your blemishes to start vanishing. This stuff works to clean your skin, not necessarily prevent breakouts. It might if you have very light acne, but if you have light-moderate-severe, you should use this with a medication.*

Pros:

Smells good.
Non-irritating

Cons:

I haven't really found any yet.

I have been usuing this product for about a week now and I like it. It has sort of helped reduce the redness of my acne but it has not really got rid of many pimples/ whiteheads yet...only a few. Another good thing it leaves my skin feeling clean.

Pros:

So gentle and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Cons:

None

I have been using this cleanser and the mosturizer for bout 2wks and so far I love it. The mosturizer looks like its greasy but its not and it really has helped with my super dry skin that was flaking. I love how gentle it is and thats the very reason I bought it. I used proactive for only 2 days and I suffered. It burned my skin where it would hurt to touch it and made my acne worse. My skin was so sensitive to the touch but cetaphill didn't hurt it and helped it feel better after 2days.

So gentle for acneic skin
I find this a lovely cleanser for my face. It doesn't dry out my skin like so many face washes do and it even leaves my skin feeling a bit moisturized while using certain drying acne treatments. Inexpensive, easy to find, and effective.

Broke me out very slowly
I absolutely love the Cetaphil moisturizer, it works well with my very sensitive skin that is coping with a still unknown allergy or ailment as I used Elidel topical before a next derm visit. So, I would naturally try to switch to this cleanser as well thinking it would benefit me in the long run. Nope. In the beginning, I liked the scent as it smelled like potent hard candy. It really was gentle on my skin--non foaming and it glided smoothly as I washed. I didn't feel a lot of oils strip away so I was happy about that. I felt moisturized. All was good until more weeks passed by. I thought it was just my hormones acting up, but I noticed I slowly had more and more clogged pores. Whiteheads, some blackheads, and lots of new large pimples began to surface! My face also felt like sand paper and was more bumpy than usual I was afraid to look in the mirror with the sun hitting my face. I just prevailed though and used an oil cleanser as well to exfoliate, but that didn't help. I then realized it was this cleanser, I felt so bad because it was putting back any progress I was trying to make! I stopped using this right away, and only washed with warm water for a couple of days and then re-introduced the Cetaphil moisturizer. What a difference. It's been almost a week and 60% of the sandpaper texture on my face is gone. I also no longer have huge breakouts. What a shame. Edit: I'm giving this another chance just to finish the bottle since I've been using Avar LS now which is amazing, and I'm not getting any of the above effects anymore. I just wouldn't use Cetaphil cleanser alone.
