Pros:

the best, period.

Cons:

have to use a lot

a doctor told me to use cetaphil because it doesn't help acne, but it doesn't hurt it. it simply cleanses your skin and leaves it as normal as possible. using bp and sacylic acid really made my skin worse and i believe it was due to all the chemical imbalances. i have tried everything: dan's regimen, proactiv, prescribed topicals, almost every OTC cleanser, toner, and lotion, etc.. and the only thing that works is doxycycline (a prescribed pill that i take once daily) and cetaphil gentle in the morning and at night, a third time if you workout or sweat at work. i have rather oily skin and tried the normal to oily cetaphil, but go with the gentle it works the best. wet face, gently massage every pore, and a few splashes. don't worry about having to rinse it all off, it's also made to be used without water. use sunscreen spf 15+ if you know you're going to be in the sun. don't worry about toners, and lotion. i haven't had a breakout since, withering wrinkles, and soft skin. seriously, do less, use less, get better results. go to your doctor, ask for doxycycline, and buy cetaphil gentle.

Pros:

Extremely gentle, soothes and softens skin, calms redness, non-drying, inexpensive.

Cons:

Consistency.

Here's the deal (and it's been said on here many times) - the consistency is awful. It's like watery goo or clear lotion. Your skin will not feel "fresh and clean" or stripped. However, with that said, it's still one of the best face washes out there. It never dries out my skin, even in the winter, and I have pretty dry skin. It soothes and calms redness, and it leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized. If you can get over the no foaming or lathering, it's amazing.

dried out skin and created a rash
used this before I started getting acne. TOTALLY dried out the skin AND gave me a horrible and irritating rash that was very inflammed. it did cleanse m face well before the rash and drying came, but it was probably one of the products that caused acne for me :(

Are you talking about the daily cleanser by Cetaphil?
January 8, 2012

Pros:

* makes your skin feel soft
* cleared about 50% of my acne over night
* gives you confidence! :p

Cons:

* no lather
* your skin feels a little clean but not as clean as if you used a bar of soap
* may cause dryness

it's a really good product and i would recommend it to anyone! i use it when i wake up and whenever i take a shower at night. i usually use biore moisture lotion with 15spf afterwards because the cetaphil may dry out your skin. it cleared up my acne within a week!

Pros:

1.Skin is soft after one use
2.Skin feels clean after use.
3. Acne seams to be clearing up a little
4. Doesn't dry out skin
5. Does not smell bad
6. Inexpensive
7. Can easily find it in stores

Cons:

1. To soon to tell.

I have only used it for 3 days now, and while that seams as though it is to soon to tell, I immediately could feel improvement in my skin. It is more soft than it has ever been before and my tone has gone from blotchy to even. I have used it seams like hundreds of skin products to try and help and this seams to finally be the one. As for ACNE: I have mild acne and have had it for years now, my acne is not completely gone, but it looks the best it has in a very long time, and like I said 3 days is to soon to tell. I would buy this product regardless though because my skin feels AMAZING.

Loving it!
Let me start off by saying that I was blessed with flawless skin until about age 20. I am now 22 and recently stopped taking BC because I was having bad side effects, and since then i've been experiencing a lot more break outs. Last week, however, was the worst break out of my life. I used one of those eyebrow razors to take off some peach fuzz on my face and had a horrible reaction the following few days. My entire jaw, chin, sides of my mouth, and upper neck broke out with red, painful pimples. I woke up to two or three new blemishes every day last week. I panicked, and ran to the drug store and bought a few clean & clear face washes/scrubs, which I must have over done because it only made the problem worse. Then I took to the internet and started reading about how Cetaphil had been used as a gentle cleanser and might help. I immediately ran out and bought two things- Garnier Micellar Water to take off my makeup (I had usually used wipes but I thought this might be better) and a huge bottle of Cetaphil gentle cleanser. I have been using the two products every day (with the occasional spot treatment) for about 5 days now and my acne has completely cleared up. I am so pleased with this product and love how it feels. Sometimes I wash it off, sometimes I pat it gently and leave a thin film on my face like the bottle advises. It has helped with the drying that the clean & clear scrub did to my face, cleans, and generally just feels good on the skin. Normally I do not like products that don't lather, but this one is a game changer for me.

dry out!
I decided to buy this cleanser because of the hype surrounding it claiming it's really gentle and great for sensitive skin. However, this cleanser dried out my face like crazy! It also led to me getting clogged pores due to my dry surface skin. Probably due to the sls that they use in it.

it takes two or three...to tango!
i usually had clear skin, even skin toned in my teenage years, mild breakouts to describe. Ive got moderate acne in college, moderate for me because of blackheads, whiteheads and pustules, minimal occurence of cystic forms. Ive done treatment with both oral and topical antibiotics, AHA, BHA, Retinoic, Salicylic acid, not all at the same time and same form, but in many different situation in two or more combination of either in cream or solution forms. treatment works, CLEAR skin, but in the long run, it DRIES my skin only to found out red, flat, shiny, painful and itchy patches on the skin, that is getting more oily and acne prone. that is when i used cetaphil as my gentle cleanser. my dermatologist, used to prescribe me together with the topical medication, a very gentle cleanser from her line of acne treatment products. verdict: Cetaphil is a very good gentle cleanser for dry skin caused by any disease or medication. As it subsided the redness, and itchiness after washing, no flakiness, or tightning effect, maybe my incorporation of Calamine lotion (1:4calamine, 3:4 cetaphil), makes it more potent to soothe my dry,flaky skin. its safe to follow, that its good also to oily skin because on the first place you should treat the condition with such drying formulations,making the skin prone to drying:) P.S. treating acne requires no ultimate product! its actually a combination of products that prohibits rather than inhibits one another. just like, correlating your external condition internally:)

Worst thing ever
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is the worst thing thats EVER happened to my skin. My skin started acting up during December 2014, nothing major, but it was getting worse. I decided to purchase this oh so lovely product in hopes that it would clear my skin up a bit. Hands down worst decision i EVER made. It broke me out sooooo bad. I had faith in this product as so many youtube videos were made about how incredible it was, and how gentle it was. I needed a gentle cleanser because i read that you should be as gentle as possible with your skin, so i thought this must work since it says GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER. But after it broke me out i read articles saying how it was the devil and that the ingredients are sooo harsh on your skin. I CANNOT believe i didnt google the ingredients before trying it. Its full of sh*t !!! In summary, cetaphil is no good and is filled with harsh ingredients that broke me out, i still have acne to this day thanks to cetaphil, please dont put this rubbish on your skin and go for all natural products! articles: [link removed] and [link removed]

LOVE
I love love love Cetaphil products! It has helped clear up my skin, and keep it that way. If you haven't been using it long, your skin might go through a bit of a "detox" time where it looks like it is causing more breakouts. You just have to give it time and let it work its magic!
