Pros:

-Rids your face of absolutely ALL makeup and oil.
-Nice and gentle on all skin types.
-Soap free, so using it 2-3 times per day won't over dry or strip your face too much of natural oils, which in turn would make it more oily.

Cons:

-The pump leaks, so if you ever take this bottle with you on vacation or anywhere in a travel bag...make sure to put it in a plastic baggy or something.

This is THE best cleanser I have ever tried for removing oil, and most importantly for me, makeup. It is a good quality cleanser for $6. Just make sure that you use some other form of acne fighting serum or lotion afterward because this cleanser doesn't have any acne fighting ingredients in it.

Pros:

Gentle

Cons:

Dries skin, seems to leave residue

I got this a few years ago and it seemed like a wonder-treatment, but lately it seems to have lost its effectiveness. I think it leaves residue on my skin, because when I use other cleansers, my skin looks brighter. I still use it, and I like how gentle it is. It doesn't seem to provoke breakouts, although it doesn't prevent them either. This is a great cleanser to combine with other treatments, as it is a simple, gentle formula.

Pros:

Very gentle, wonderful clean scent, inexpensive, light texture, washes off completely, and takes off make up easily.

Cons:

None!!

I've never found a better facial cleanser--and I've tried just about everything from really expensive department store brands to cheap drugstore washes. This is one of those...but the results are worth a million! The lightness and fragrance remind me of having my face cleansed at high-end spas. This wash is GENTLE! I've been using it for a month or so and my skin hasn't looked this great since I was in my 20s (I'm 50 now). My skin tone is almost perfect now--all I wear most of the time is sunscreen and I'm good to go.

Pros:

Leaves skin feeling soft and clean with no residue
Doesn't dry out my skin
Deep cleans.. my blackheads are almost non existent
Hasn't aggravated my sensitive skin like other cleansers
Very cheap
Lovely scent
Amazing!!!!

Cons:

Caused my skin to break out for the first few days.

I'm in my 30's and I've suffered from blackheads, oily/combination skin, and frequent breaks out since I hit puberty. I've tried every cleanser, toner and moisturizer from the most expensive to the cheapest and nothing has ever worked at thoroughly clearing up my skin. I bought Purpose Cleanser on a whim after reading some reviews that it's recommended by Dermatologists. I've heard that statement before many times, but as it was cheap I thought I've nothing to lose. Well, this stuff is absolutely FABULOUS. I've never used a cleanser that has cleaned my skin so deeply and made it feel so soft before. It has cleared nearly all my blackheads (I'm only using the cleanser about two weeks) and I hope it will get rid of them all completely. I suffer from spots and frequent break outs on my chin, nose area and forehead and this has gotten rid of 95% of them. I've had persistent lumps under my skin (chin area) for years and within two weeks or so of using Purpose Cleanser they are almost completely gone. It did cause my skin to break out for the first week and I was tempted to stop using it, but I stuck with it and am so glad I did. I think it was drawing all the impurities to the surface, which in turn got rid of my blackheads and those underlying spots that caused uneven skin tone. My skin always dries out when I use cleansers for spot/acne prone skin but Purpose is for sensitive skin and hasn't done that. I have very sensitive skin and cannot use most acne/spot treatments on the market. Usually for me, because a cleanser has dried out areas of my skin, then my skin in turn over-produces oil which makes it 100 times worse. Purpose Cleanser, cleanses, softens and leaves my skin feeling NORMAL for the first time in my life. I'm actually happy with the way my skin looks. My makeup goes on so much better and lasts for most of the day now, whereas before it would melt off after two or three hours. I'm using Purpose Moisturizer SPF15 too during the

Pros:

-lathers well
-leaves face clean
-doesn't dry out skin
-less oil

Cons:

-none for me

I got this product because, I just needed something simple to use for my oily t-zone and redness from picking at pimples. This really smoothed out the skin, and it works really well if you have a brush for your skin. It smells really good and it kept my oil at bay, so I recommended this product to anyone. This product doesn't say that it heals acne, but I think if you have light acne you can let your face heal with this.

Pros:

*Non irritating
*does not cause breakouts
*leaves skin feeling clean and fresh
*The best cleanser to use before putting your topicals on

Cons:

It annoyed me that they put fragrance in it at first. But when I saw that it was extremely non irritating and did not cause my skin to break out, I didn't mind at all

This product is an excellent wash if you are using other topicals on the side. I wash my face twice a day with this, and use a prescription topical after. This soap is not clearing up my acne, it is not meant to. However, it is enabling the topicals to do their work without over drying, irritating, or clogging my pores. Why should i care if it is very similar to baby wash? It works, so who cares?? I recommend this wayyyy more then cetaphil...because they use pore clogging ingredients!

Cons:

Dried out my skin

When I first started using this product I noticed the fragrance was very familiar. I realized it was baby wash! I have two kids so I know what baby wash smells like. I immediately grabbed a bottle we had on hand and compared the ingredients from both cleansers and sure enough, they both have the same ingredients. I'm sure the "facial cleanser" is gentle for most but this just totally dried out my skin. Needless to say, I returned this expensive baby wash to Duane Reade. Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash (made by Johnson & Johnson) ingredients: Water , PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Cocamidopropyl Betaine , PEG-150 Distearate , Sodium Lauroampho PG-Acetate Phosphate , Fragrance , Quaternium-15 , Tetrasodium EDTA Johnson & Johnson No More Tears Baby Wash ingredients: Water, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Glycerin, Lauroamphoglycinate, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Laureth-13 Carboxylate, Fragrance, Polyquaternium-10, Tetrasodium EDTA, Quaternium-15, Citric Acid, D&C Yellow #10, D&C Orange #4.

Pros:

I love this cleanser. I think if I didn't wear makeup I would like cetaphil better, but it doesn't make me feel as clean as Purpose (because it foams). I actually prefer the CVS version of this cleanser. You get a lot more for the money (I think it was $2 cheaper) and to me it works and smells better even though it should have the same ingredients.

Cons:

Can be drying. More expensive than some other cleansers. But I haven't found anything better

Great everyday gentle cleanser, that actually cleans! I've tried a lot that I can use for a little while, but this is the only one I can use over and over and my skin seems to like it.
