Pros:

I think there are a lot of long term benefits and it seemed that the fish oil helped with mood.

Cons:

Every time I go through a fish oil phase, I seem to get blind pimples. My skin is usually prone to small hormonal flare ups, but these are bad. Maybe I take too much - around 6 per day to help with depression - but then I stop and my skin clears.

I think fish oil is great if you don't have this problem, I noticed someone else said the same thing (anonymous in australia mentioned deep cystic acne which is the same i think)- it would be great to hear if anyone else has had similar experience, as my naturapath fried says it is not possible for fish oil to cause acne, so I keep trying. I think it is the fish oil though.

Pros:

made hair shine
actually curbed my eating
helped with loosing weight

Cons:

ACNE, ACNE, ACNE
and gave a rash effect on arm had to use vitamin e to get rid of it.

Because of the bad acne after 28 days of use as of today march 17,2011 i am deciding to stop today. If you have dry skin and acid don't bother you than this will be great for you .but if you have oily skin and acid affects you for example, soda or orange juice. Than this is not for u!

Pros:

its made my skin glow a bit, although to be honest im usin bp and its just made my skin kinda half dry half oily, definatly makes your skin more oily which for me just isnt good.

Cons:

oily skin, doesnt actively get rid of spots (no evidence anywhere to suggest it does either, trust me iv researched)

you can buy it if your confident enough that your skin will be ok with a bit of oil on there, as it gives your skin a glow and a healthyish complexion, however personally, i just feel comfortable knowing theres no acne on there while using bp, so i may stop takin these and stick with a 1 a day vitamin D/multi supplement. oh yeah and iv been taking 6 grams of fish oil per day.

Pros:

Helps with inflammation and redness

Cons:

Fish burps, pills are very large and sometimes hard to swallow

I have taken fish oil for like 3 years - when my acne was more light / moderate, I felt this helped. However, I've developed more severe nodular acne and stopped taking fish oil as I need stronger meds. Bottom line: This will probably help your light acne and is worth trying, I don't think it's worth trying for Stage 3-4 acne.

Pros:

Easy to take

Cons:

Not particularly cheap in convenient capsule form. Fishy burps sometimes!

Having taken this for 6 weeks now, with a GLA Ultra (Borage Oil) capsule alongside, I can safely say that my complexion is glowing, less pasty and more golden! It's taking some time for my mild acne spots to subside, but I haven't had new breakouts; the spots I'm experiencing were already developing on my skin anyway. I have found that taking the recommended 2 a day of both capsules gave me bad wind (omega) and a horrid metallic taste i my mouth (GLA), but 1 a day seems fine. There are many other benefits to taking Omega 3 oils so I can whole-heartedly recommend you do.

Great for health.. but never found it to have an effect on my acne.

Pros:

Wonderful for health

Cons:

Expensive
Doesn't taste great

Very high in Vitamin A and Omega-3 chain fatty acids... which means it's wonderful for your health in moderation.. but I never found it to benefit breakouts.

Pros:

Good for you

Cons:

None

It didn't do anything for my acne. It didn't help with oily skin either. I took two capsules daily for 2 months without any noticeable difference. Fairly harmless to try though so give it a shot.
