It's definitely worth sticking it out!
I began having bad ance break outs on my forehead and chin about a year ago, after about 6 months I'd had enough and headed to the doctors, that's when he prescribed me with isotrexin gel. For the first 4-5 weeks my ance got a lot worse! I was having a lot more break outs and my skin was left very sore and dry. After reading lots of reviews I decided to stick it out. I've now been using it for several months and my skin is perfect!! I never have break outs and my scars are fading! I was using it everyday to begin with but I've not cut down to every other day and that works perfect for me. I would really recommend isotrexin! It gets worse before it gets better but it's definitely worth sticking it out!!

Hi, I am 21 male. My doctor prescribed me Isotrexin. I have been using it for two months now. Can you tell me how long does it take before the medication actually starts working? Furthermore, how good is this medicine when it comes to dealing with scars. Thank you.

Pros:

clears up most of the acne .. reduces the red iritation.

Cons:

needs abt 4 weeks to show results, u have to keep on using it every night .. gives the effect of pealing

overall its a great and affordable medication,... for better results dont forget to wash ur face well with soap.. and dry ur face well before using it. dont apply alot in one spot (read the paper in the box) .. they say that the amount that fits from the top of ur finger to the first top joint of ur finger is enough to cover ur whole face .. so distribute fairly. wash ur face well in the morning bc ur skin needs to breath ..

Pros:

Great for stopping acne cysts from growing under the skin. This product really works, the only topical treatment that ever has for me.

Cons:

Expensive to apply over large areas all the time.

This product needs to be applied sparingly a little goes a long way. Too much and it forms a skin and makes your own skin peel. Spread it quickly out of the tube before it evaporates. It should sink into the skin almost immediately, if it doesn't you have applied it too thickly. Try once a day if skin gets too dry.

Solution for me
Suffered from moderate acne since teens. Various contraceptive pills, topical treatments (Duac, Differin), and one course of antibiotics only partially helped. Following a recent breakout I decided to tackle it from all angles, and I think Isotrexin was the key. Also went back on a combined oral contraceptive and took 5-month course of oxytetracycline. Skin cleared up after around 2 months. Having finished the course of oral antibiotics 2 moths ago, skin is still basically spot-free, better than it ever has been. Initially drying but quickly skin gets used to it. I only apply a very thin layer, once daily, at night.

Pros:

Lower the oil production in a significant amount
Clears acne and prevents

Cons:

More sun protection needed than Adapalene user

I started using adapalene 0.1.It cleared my skin but my oil production was the same.So I tried Differin 0.3 also but oil production was the same. But it cleared my skin. So I gave a try for ISOTREX then.Woww....... My skin became normal from a oil slick. Thanks Stirfel

Pros:

Smooth skin, blackheads dissapear and you actually notice an improvement aftert a couple of weeks. Product actually works and helps unclog skincells.

Cons:

slight stinging for the first couple of uses. has a peeling effect if you use to much so would onlt reccomend to use at night.

the first time i used this product i thought there could be no chance it would work because i literally tried everything on the market to no avail. GP reccomended this and it has been a lifesaver as after a couple of weeks people noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin. would reccomend it to everyone. AT LEAST GIVE IT A TRY... lol If your 18 or under in full time education you can get it free on the NHS ( UK only i think) otherwise it will cost £7 for a prescription item which is still considerably cheaper than some products out ther.

Pros:

Smooth skin, less black heads and spots, clears up most of the acne.

Cons:

irritating, makes skin much dry after applying

It seemed to work straight away (well within a week) with the skin appearing clearer and as other say more 'radiant'. It does however have its downsides, most significantly for me is the way it seems to dry the skin, causing unsightly flakiness if i don't apply sufficient quantities of moisturizer. but over all its better than hundreds.
