Pros:

Clears skin (some pimples overnight), non-drying, moisturizing, fades scars

Cons:

NONE

I have had acne since high school and NOTHING worked. I've been on Accutane, creams, washes, pills, etc...Emu oil is AMAZING! Someone gave it to me for it's healing purposes and i havem in turn, given it to my sisters to use - they're clearing up too :) I don't care that it's oil, b/c it's not clogging like any other product and the fact that it comes from an animal doesn't bother me either. i'd do anything for clear skin! try it - you have nothing to lose! it's fabulous!

Pros:

reduces red scars left by acne at a noticeable rate
moisturizing
calming
does not clog pores/induce allergic reaction

Cons:

Greasy

I don't break out often but when i do it always leaves red scars that take about 1 year to go away. Of course in the meanwhile i get new pimples and so it is a never ending cycle. The thing that i have realized that really works for me is to use apple cider vinegar as a toner once a day, and to use emu oil (mixed with two drops of 28,000 IU of vitamin E) as a lotion, usually at night I wipe off the emu oil after 15 mins because its so greasy, but dont wash it off. I've noticed that in the morning my skin is glowing and the red scars look noticeably less red. My scars havent gone away yet but since emu oil actually helps to reduce breakouts, i hope to be scar free in the new year!

Pros:

Reduces Redness
Heals scars much quicker
Leaves my skin glowing, and smooth
Skin looks HEALTHY.
Fewer breakouts

Cons:

NONE.
maybe it's becuase I have dry skin,
but it doesn't leave it as oily and greesy as people say.

I've been dying for a good moisturizer that could clear my face up, and this is it. Do not be offended by the smell, or greesy feel because it's only going to be as bad of an experiance as you make it. I got used to putting on the oil quite quickly, after 3 days it didn't bother me at all and I left my house many times wearing only the oil and got many compliments how shiny and glowing my face was. I did get an intial break out at first, but like any antioxidant it's going to push out the toxins that were later going to form pimples anyway. The pimples I did get were very gentle, and healed quicker the more I used the product. Now it's only been a week of using just the oil and bp face wash, and I'm starting to throw out my fears of having constant acne and major scarring. I didnt pay anything for it becuase I found it at my grandmothers house.

Great moisturizer for dried out acne product skin
I haven't noticed any anti blemish activity with this, I didn't use it very long. I was using retinol which was disasterous for my skin, red, peely, flakey and extremely dry. This emu oil was the only reason I could use retinol. My acne got sooo bad. I'm fairly positive it was the retinol because it was happening before the use of emu oil. I've ditched the retinol forever. I'm using salicylic acid 30% peels. I keep it on my face for about and hour once a week, and apply my 10% glycolic acid lotion afterwords. In addition to that I use BP everyday. I've had to go to 5% because of the dryness of the acids. But my face is still dry!, I put half emu oil half green tea moisturizer iny hands and apply it to my face at night. It is SSOOO silky, and the tight stretched feeling going away ASAP. I wouldn't say it's greasy as much as I'd say it is an extraordinary moisturizer. If I were to use during the day under makeup I'd use only 2 or so drops. My skin feels like silk right now.... I love it!

Pros:

Doesn't clog pores, helps red marks heal and fade, moisturizes and softens skin, doesn't smell bad considering it's the fat from the back of an emu, inexpensive way to attack scarring

Cons:

looks oily on the skin (doesn't necessarily feel like there's a ton of oil on your face, though)

I've used this product for exactly one week. It's not a miracle cure/product, but I have noticed that my red marks are fading more quickly. I have not noticed it reducing inflammation in active acne, though. But also, it doesn't cause active acne, so it certainly won't hurt anything. I only apply it at night (due to the oiliness, I am not attempting to cover this stuff with make-up...would probably turn my brushes and make-up a gunky mess), and I just apply it to the areas that need to heal. Any red marks or possible scars get doused in this stuff each night before (usually try to let it absorb for close to half an hour if I can) I apply my topical retinoid and antibiotic. So basically, I use it in place of a moisturizer. I'm hoping that with continued use, I will achieve more dramatic results. The brand I use is Thunder Ridge Emu Products which I purchased from a local Vitamin World for $16. It is 100% Emu Oil, so it isn't smelly. Many benefits. Few cons. I'd try it if

Pros:

Emu oil is a proven anti-inflammatory, with effects comparable to that of ibuprofen; a bacteriostatic, meaning that it does not promote the growth of bacteria;a highly penetrating oil that absorbs without leaving a greasy feel; and a non-comedogenic.

Cons:

100% Emu Oil is very thick. Not all products are sourced from the actual animal. Is an animal bi-product.

Started getting pimples at age 10, got bad at age 12. Moderate acne consistently till 19 1/2. I'm 20. Don't have a pimple anymore Emu oil naturally contains Vitamin E, which is a major antioxidant and healing agent; Vitamin A, a known skin repairer and antioxidant; Linoleic acid, which helps to ease muscle aches and joint pain; Oleic acid, which is a proven skin cell regenerator and anti-wrinkle agent; Sapogens, proven skin softeners; and Terpines, known antiseptics You must get a product that is 100% emu oil. I add tea tree oil (however much you like) to thin the oil out. Tea tree oil application can be as beneficial as 5% Benzoyl Peroxide (just takes a little longer to see the effects) so this way its a treatment and a moisturiser. Tea Tree oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. But get the 100% tea tree oil from your Pharmacy not the mixed. (You can use it as a spot treatment undiluted but suggest for all over face, mix it with the emu oil or other car

Pros:

Leaves your skin soft
Absorbs quickly
Anti inflamatory
Multiple uses

Cons:

Can clog pores and smell depending on the brand/seller

I recently bought myself a 1 oz bottle of triple refined emu oil from a power seller off of Ebay after a few weeks of research. My acne has subsided quite a lot, with the occasional flare ups but I have a lot of scars left to heal as I have a bad tendency to pick at any imperfection. So far I'm impressed with how this product reduces the red marks left from acne and helps to heal my skin. I recently went back to using Retin A Micro which I had a hard time continuing previously due to all the irritation. Right now, I put the retin on my face, wait 20 mins then apply Emu Oil. It's really helped reduce the redness and flakeyness PLUS it helps bring the medication deeper into my skin. Very happy with the results so far, I think the combo has finally become a staple to my routine :) Be careful when you decide to purchase this stuff though. Buy through a reputable seller and you'll be happy.

Pros:

Softens skin, evens skin tone, diminishes scars, and shrinks pimples

Amazing. Anti-inflammatory properties shrink existing pimples while conditioning the skin resulting in decreased scarring. Bought mine on eBay (triple refined). Quality ranges so go big to make sure you get a good product.

Pros:

Soft skin
reduced redness
helps with scaring
reduced break outs
less of an urge to pic bc when I use it I dont have scabs on my acne that is healing

Cons:

None

I use this every other night and on the other nights I use my Retin-A. (I had severe cystic acne and now I have maybe one or two small pimples) My acne was caused due to having an Implanon which is a form of birth control so I know having that out alone has dramatically been the result of my body not producing anymore cysts or as much acne and I am also now on Yaz which I would say has helped as well. NOTE* Make sure the emu oil you buy is 100% emu oil When I use the emu oil I always wake up and can notice significant reduction in redness and there are never any scabs over the acne that is healing. It makes it easier to use makeup and it not look caked on or flaky because of the scabs. The Retin-A I use because my doctor prescribed it and I want to give it a chance for about another month to help in accelerating the healing process. I feel like the Retin-A takes away layers of the surface scaring since there is always a thin scab over it after using it and letting it do its magic, I don't like that because then I dont wan to wear makeup and it makes me want to pick at it. I like the Emu oil because I always notice my face just looks better and it as well helps in reducing breakouts too and the scaring! I know its a slow process but I know this is working!
