Great Color Selection but makes me Breakout

Pros:

color selection
coverage

Cons:

breakouts
cakey

I really love the color options in this foundation. Finally something that has yellow and blue undertones, seems like every other foundation is way too pink or orange on my skin. The bummer is this foundation does make me breakout and I can feel the thickness on my skin. Ugh. Anyone know of a foundation with good color options and doesn't make your skin breakout?

Pros:

coverage
cost

Cons:

extreme breakouts
felt very heavy

I tried this foundation after reading countless reviews on how great the coverage. I will admit that the coverage was great for hiding acne. But this is not an every day foundation. This was extremely heavy and only something that I would've used for special occasions. Unfortunately my skin breakout with 10 new pimples overnight with this product. I wouldn't recommend this foundtion due to the fact that it took two weeks after using it to get my skin under control.

Pros:

* Medium to full coverage
* Affordable
* Available at many stores
* Matte finish
* Lasts all day

Cons:

* Breaks me out
* Dries very fast
* No color match for me
* No pump on container

This was my holy grail foundation until I realized that it was causing breakouts on my skin. I don't use foundation very often, but when I do, I wear this stuff and at the end of the day when I take off my makeup I always get one or two new blemishes. The acne.org regimen keeps me clear and I only break out when using this foundation. It took me two years to figure that out haha. I would always blame the new breakouts on something else, like food or stress. One of my friends also used this makeup and developed cystic acne and told me not to use this and see if my face clears up. I'm so glad I listened to her and took her advice! Even when I take this makeup off very well with jojoba oil and my Clarisonic brush, it still breaks me out. What a bummer, because this is a great long-lasting, full coverage foundation. I now use Almay TLC liquid foundation and guess what? No breakouts! The Almay TLC foundation is only medium coverage though, but I would rather settle on that than have acne. If Revlon Colorstay foundation breaks you out but you still want full coverage, the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo foundation gives even better coverage. That one broke me out too. If you are willing to go to medium coverage, the Almay TLC liquid foundation is worth trying. You can always use concealer and finishing powder to achieve more coverage.

Pros:

-Long lasting (24 hours)
-Does not clog skin
-If used right, it won't kit
-Amazing coverage
-Great for all skin shades

Cons:

- You need to take off with make up remover or a strong facial wash
-Must apply with a makeup brush for it to look best so don't use a sponge.

I am a Professional makeup artist for MAC. And I prefer this over Mac cosmetics any day. It is worth the 14 dollars. USE A MAKE UP BRUSH TO PUT IT ON! Do not use a sponge. Sponges soak up all of the liquid make up. I have dark skin and works amazing for me. It is one of my favorite foundations of all time. You will clog up from this make up if YOU GET THE COMBINATION/OILy bottle. Seriously try it. You wont be disappointed.

Pros:

good coverage
good price
long lasting

Cons:

bad smell
doesn't really control oil
trying to find right shade

I've tried many many foundations because I want to cover the acne and acne marks and I have to say this is the best one hands down (at least compared to the ones you find at the drugstore). It gives a medium coverage but is buildable, and ends up with a matte look (as if you put powder on top). Though i must say is hard to find a right shade because when you look at the bottle most of the colors are really similar. It doesn't wear off as easily but it doesn't control shine either (at least not for me) so blotting papers work good for this problem. This has never broke me out unlike maybelline but one important thing is that since this is a heavy makeup make sure you completely remove it, i usually wash with my cleanser and then i use a astrigent or toner to take it all off.

Made My Skin Breakout
I used this product for a few weeks to cover up sun spots and even out my skin tone, however, my skin started to break out more and more with time. Eventually I had three large patches of breakouts on my face, which was alarming as I usually only get one blemish here or there. I'm about a week into going makeup-free and my skin has been clearing up. Be careful if you use this stuff; it may work for some people, but it definitely did more harm than good to my skin.

worst mistake !!
i wish there was an option of giving "zero" stars. used this product just for 2 days on my acne prone skin and today is the third day. all the acne that i managed to clear down with my garnier product, just flared up now. hate this !!!! my face hurts. lesson learnt : always look into acne.org before buying new products esp for acne prone skin and never a blv utube makeup tutorial and their recommended products.

4 years later and I'm still struggling with acne and scarring because of this foundation.
I've only ever got an occasional pimple on my forehead but that was it. I used this foundation and continued to do so because I loved the coverage, the finish, etc. However I noticed I started to break out on my cheeks, my chin, etc. I've never broken out before, let alone have gotten a pimple anywhere else other than on my forehead. I take very good care of my skin; I always wash my face twice a day, exfoliate 4 times a week and use my clarisonic every night as well as tone and moisturize my face and neck. I was 16... I am now 20. I now have acne prone skin; and have tried everything from proactiv to clinique, all natural, acne.org, asian brands, etc. I now use a topical treatment from my dermatologist and though I don't necessarily break out like I used to, I still get quite a few pimples and am dealing with scarring from my break out at 16. Acne doesn't run in my family. No one else in my family or extended family has dealt with acne other than hormonal pimples. So I know that, biologically, nothing could have triggered this, it was simply the foundation. My recommendation is to really do your research. Also, foundation is something that you put directly on your face, consider spending the extra cash and purchasing a higher quality foundation. If you're on a budget, there are a bunch of really great foundations like loreal true match that won't break you out. Everyone is different and their skin reacts differently. This was my experience and it scarred me and changed me. I now have to put on makeup everyday to cover my imperfections, I'm insecure, and I have spent an unnecessary amount of money to try to get rid of my acne and my scars.
