zero stars!
I was really looking forward to using this foundation given the great reviews on coverage and how affordable it is being a drugstore makeup. I gave this foundation a couple of chances. Each time I wore it, my acne got even worse. It felt like my acne was getting worse during the day and my acne felt itchy. Once I stopped using it my skin got better. Needless to say, it didn't work for me and my skin made that clear the moment I put it on.

Pros:

*great coverage
*buildable
*covered ALL of my red spots
*even made pitted scars less noticeable

Cons:

*made me breakout
*needed to blot every now and then
*gave my blackheads

this product is 50-50. if you have very light acne or you're just healing from an intense breakout and you're looking for something to hide those annoying red marks, then this could be the foundation for you BUT if you're still breaking out on a daily basis, don't touch the stuff!

Pros:

-looks great when first applied

Cons:

-broke me out
-VERY hard to remove
-not long lasting and wears off weirdly
-doesn't cover well enough

I don't understand which this is such a highly rated foundation. It wore off really quickly and looked splotchy by the end of the day, yet it was very difficult to remove. It also broke me out pretty badly.

Horribly breaking out
This foundation is probably the worst I've ever tried. I bought the soft beige color with sph 15 for combination/oily skin and I've only been using for a few days. It's made me break out so much it's not even funny. I have never broken out this badly and it all started since using this foundation. I do not recommend this to anyone!

Pros:

Covered blemishes

Cons:

Broke me out
Really Heavy
Feels oily after a couple of hours

Colorstay did not agree with my skin, as it clogged my pores big time. I had a ton of under the skin nodules, that weren't pretty, particularly in the sun. It felt really heavy and cakey, I couldn't imagine wearing this in the summer. Overall, it gave my that feeling of yuckiness all day, as though my face was heavy and my pores were clogging every minute I had it on.

Absolutely devastated - do not use if you have had acne before!
Since the age of 14 I have suffered with acne. After trying several different products (that of course didn't work), I was prescribed a contraceptive pill that cleared my skin wonderfully! For years I used Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and watched a number of YouTube videos explain that the Revlon Colorstay was a dupe for this product at a fraction of the price so I gave it a go. After a week or so of using this my acne come back with revenge! I wish to god I could turn the clocks back and never buy this foundation. I'm 24 and this has really affected my confidence. If you have had acne if the past, even if your skin is now clear, please do not use this product!! The only reasons I've given two stars is that the coverage is just as good as the Estee Lauder one, but is it really worth ruining your skin? NO :(

Perfect if you want that jigsaw puzzle look
Ugh.. Ill keep this review short and simple. Being the idiot that I am, I stupidly decided I wanted to change my amazing foundation routine I had been using for the past three years and try this stuff. The lightest shade didn't match my skin but I bought it anyway along with a darker shade to mix it because I'm sallow skinned. I have applied this in numerous ways to ensure that I could give the fairest review ; (stippling, sponge and the dreaded use of fingers-eww). Basically it goes on nice and smooth and along with a concealer and mattifying powder, you will look flawless.. for about 2 HOURS! It then turns a nice shade of orange and starts to oxidize. If you have dry skin it makes you peel like paint. Oily skinned people will look like a greasy, patchy, orange mess. No amount of touch ups will correct this disaster! Believe me I had to leave college one afternoon and try to run home like a complete idiot to remove this it looked that bad. The next week my whole forehead (that rarely breaks out mind you) was covered in whiteheads and I am ocd when it comes to makeup removal...le sigh STAY away from this chemical scented crap (sorry for swearing mam)

Pros:

-medium to full coverage
-looks natural
-pretty cheap compared to high end brands and it measures up

Cons:

funky smell
no pump
hard to take off

This was one of those foundations that really gives you coverage! People who want coverage NEED to remember that it will be harder to take off. I use some jojoba oil first, and then tea trea oil. Works wonderfully! If you don't remove all of it, it can cause breakouts. In the end, its all about trial and error.

NOOO
I have oily skin and it is matte and controls oil but I didn't keep it on very long. This product is horrible for ppl who have pitted scarring or large pores. it sinks in to them and makes scars and pores look worse

Don't be fooled, it might be for oily skin but definitely not for acne-prone skin
I bought this as I had heard great reviews about this foundation for oily skin. I have acne-prone skin but after in recent years the acne had stopped and I had mostly scars and blemishes. I still used to get occasional pimple here and there though. I only used liquid foundation while I was going out, never to work or uni. Since I was not applying to this foundation that often, I thought the pimples appearing were due to the nature of my skin. Then I went on vacation for 6 weeks. And I think I used this foundation almost everyday. My skin broke out like crazy, huge cystic acne that hurt like hell. I blamed my makeup remover wipes, I blamed my moisturiser, I even blamed rosehip oil which I was using but I didn't realize what the cause was until after the vacation. I returned and would still use this foundation sometimes but then I started thinking what were the products that I was constantly using while my skin was breaking out. I realized it was colorstay foundation, it is a great foundation but just not for me. My skin would sting a bit while applying this foundation but I thought that was due to the primer. I am using Australis Stayput foundation now and it does not sting or break me out at all. I still get breakouts sometimes and there are lots of scars but I am happy I stopped using the culprit. I am using Lush Fresh Farmacy and Grease Lightning and Sukin Rosehip oil. I do not have cystic acne anymore and normal breakouts during that time of the month. So for me, colorstay damaged my skin. And, guess what, I had one new bottle bought as backup on sale. Guess what's going in the bin?
