Pros:

amazing moisturizer
help hyperpigmentation
internal and external use
quickly heals old breakouts
natural
smells good

Cons:

use delicately
can run expensive (not as expensive as facial products though)
people's skin reacts differently to it

Make sure to use extra virgin coconut oil because it is less likely to cloge pores. I had a massive breakout when I moved from a hot climate to a cold climate and I was under a lot of stress beccause of school. I literally tried everything and nothing seemed to make my skin better. I read a review on coconut oil and decided to give it a try. I dissolve coconut oil in warm water and soaked it in a cotton ball to dilute it a bit. Then I lightly dab it over my face after I wash with Cetaphil and tone with apple cider vinager. Once it soaks in your skin the magic will start to happen. i suggest trying it out on your neck or other sensitive area to see if you break out there afterward. If not then give it a go.

Pros:

Use as an all over body lotion after a shower...................keeps skin nice and soft and helps prevent pimples and wrinkles. Face may look shiny at first, but by morning, it looks refreshed and soft .

Cons:

none

I have been using coconut oil for years and it works great..............better than proactive and alot cheaper too. Paid about 8 dollars for the organic kind would highly recommend it. A jar lasts for a long time.

Moisturizing and Soothing
Coconut oil is amazing and has so many benefits for the skin. However, I do think it is best used in moderation for most people, especially if you are trying it for the first time. I think some of the people who have negative experiences with it tend to over-do it. I use it to cleanse my skin 1-2 times a week in the shower using the oil-cleansing method. I really like it because it gently takes off all my make-up & my skin is left feeling super fresh and soft. I have sensitive, normal/dry skin with old acne scars. I also love that it's natural and super simple - just one ingredient. My only complaint?? Having to move it back and forth from the bathroom and the kitchen all the time! Haha :)

its good
I lightly apply a layer of it to my face and body immediately after the shower and sometimes at night before I go to sleep. My skin has never been softer and I don't break out at all. I have tried the oil pulling, teeth whitener thing and it worked as well.

coconut oil is an elixir for the seborrheic dermatitis
Where to start.. when i found out about coconut oil I had no clue of its purpose except that it came from coconuts. Yeah those hard round things that grow way up on tropical trees. I read good things about how it was a great cooking oil and it one of my go to oils whenever I'm cooking. The great thing about this oil is that you can use it on your skin to moisturize the skin. It has antifungal properties which improves sebderm. You only need to use a very small amount and it smells good. Because it's natural you can use it indefinitely and not have to worry about the potential harmful ingredients compared to hydrocortisone creams. Coconut oil has been one of the best purchases I've made for helping improve my skin!!

Pros:

Versatile product that can be used internally and externally meaning more bang for your buck; wonderful moisturizer that makes you smell delicious; makes hair and skin glow!

Cons:

None!!!!

This is a must have for every kitchen and medicine cabinet! Acne was never the problem for me; it was the scars it left behind on my face and my confidence. I have tried many products but none have delivered results as quickly and substantially as unrefined, extra virgin olive oil. I am happily saying goodbye to my scars, dry skin, and dull skintone and saying hello to bright, dewy, glowing skin.

Pros:

Very soothing, helps moisturize, skin looks and feels smooth. Actually smells nice too.

Cons:

A bit greasy when it's applied.

I use the Spectrum brand organic unrefined coconut oil. About $10 for a huge jar that will probably last for months. Unrefined seems to be the key, so avoid the refined stuff. According to the label, it suggests rinsing it off an hour later, which is probably a good idea. Doesn't seem to cause breakouts if you rinse it off. I wouldn't say it seems to have a tremendous effect on treating existing bumps, it seems to be better for moisturizing, cleansing, and preventing new bumps. Although it's waxy in the jar, it melts on your skin. I just apply it after washing with water, find something to do for a while that doesn't involve putting my face on something, and rinse with warm water after an hour or so.

love coconut
I love coconut oil too. I got a giant tub and It has done wonders for DS's excezma prone skin. Very moisturizig without any chemicals to irritate skin. It's great head to toe. The only drawback, I wouldn't recemend using it during the day. It does take some time to absorb, and can stain clothes. But it's great at night.

Pros:

it clears acne, leaves skin soft, helps eczema improve ALOT

Cons:

leaves a slight residue

I have been suffering from acne and eczema for about 25 years now and I have tried a lot of OTC medications but all of them either made my eczema worse or my acne worse so I decided to give coconut oil a try afer hearing about it from a friend. It leaves my skin smooth for the whole day and my acne is gone, spare the occasional small whitehead. It is GREAT!!!
