Pros:

Works well, multi-purpose, relatively inexpensive and natural.

Cons:

none.

If you get coconut oil please get ORGANIC, VIRGIN COCONUT OIL. It is about $13.00 for a jar that will last you forever! That's well worth the price and the lower quality kind will clog your pores instead of helping. I don't use it as a face lotion though, what I do is put a dab on blemishes. It sounds weird but it dries them up and they heal faster. I also use it once a week kind of like OCM. I massage it onto a clean face for a few minutes then take it off with a hot washcloth. It loosens blackheads etc.. and I follow that with a clay mask. It works great! Coconut oil is also a great conditioning treatment for hair and a good body moisturizer. Can't go wrong.

Think For Yourself
Opinions are everywhere on the internet. All you can do is try to think for yourself and filter out ignorance. There is four awesome reasons backed by scientific research to use coconut oil for acne. There is only one shady reason not to. Four against one is decent odds. -It is 15x more antibacterial then benzoyl peroxide. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19387482 -Moisturizes better than dermatologist-favored treatments https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24320105 -Contains anti-inflammatory substances https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/3666817/ -Coconut oil works as a decent sunblock https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3140123/ -Coconut oil has a high comedogenic rating. 4v1... enough said

It is not that cut and dry. Just because it has shown to be better than BPO in one study doesn't mean that it's set in stone that it is better. The studies also only looked at lauric acid which is supposed to be what makes coconut oil so invaluable. The oil does not only come with this fatty acid.  That said, you are dismissing the oil as a whole based on the studies that looked at single ingredients in the oil that are beneficial. Also, not every batch of coconut oil comes with the same ratio of fatty acids. Some batches do not contain so much lauric acid.  One person here had normal skin and after a while of using coconut oil, they develop cystic acne which had to be treated with Accutane. Your comment is uninformed and you should delete it.

Amazing!
I used this product after some topical treatments had my skin raw and peeling. I was afraid it would cause more acne but I was desperate to soothe my skin. I have been using this nightly since and find my skin glowing and plump the next morning with my acne looking less inflamed.

Pros:

Moisturizing
Smells amazing
soothing
gets rid of redness from my rosacea/dermatitis
all natural

Cons:

Strong coconut smell. If you dont like the smell, either deal with it or dont use it. It is a great natural product and Ill use it forever to keep my skin under control.

I dont have acne. I have dermatitis and rosacea. ORGANIC EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL has completely changed my skin. It helps with redness and blotches I get from the rosacea/dermatitis. It is an anti fungal, anti inflammatory moisturizing oil. It is the only product I use on my skin. My skin was horrible. I was getting red marks (not pimples) from the rosacea at least 1-2 times a week. They were stubborn and always left a red mark for a while. Using Coconut oil every night was the best choice I made. I used Natures Way EFA gold.

Pros:

great mousturizer, helped bring acne to a head and seems to be helping prevent new blemishes

Cons:

somewhat greasy, have to wipe it off after awhile

Using this has made a difference. My face is not red and irritated looking anymore. When I do get pimples, they go away faster b/c the oil helps it come to a head. Coconut oil has antibacteiral properties, you do need to go the extra mile and purche the extra virgin organic kind.

Pros:

great moisturizer!

Cons:

greasy. may be hard to find in a store for some people. usually cheap.

i use this every night and after i take a shower. dont use it in the morning since it'll make your face look shiny. i always leave it on and nothing happened to me? other posters said it caused whiteheads but im fine... i got mine from an Indian store its nothing fancy or organic, but try it and see if it works for you. if you want to heal some serious dryness and redness i recommend it! works great elsewhere too. i have eczema and it helps a lot. $5 for 20 oz! dont worry if it looks solid in the bottle, once you put it on your skin it melts. kinda cool. hehe
