Cons:

ok, a little better than over the counter skin care

Pros:

skin was very clear for a while, inexpensive w/insurance, easy application, won't stain clothing

Cons:

took 3-4 months to work fully, stopped working after a while, when I quit using it acne came back X10, face looked orangish toward the end, doesn't peel the skin so it just builds up in a thick layer, easy to get sunburnt too

I am really scared to use this medication again. At the best point of the treatment- which took a few months to get to- I was completely clear in the lower face/hormonal region. When I look at pictures of myself when I was using it I am impressed, but toward the end I started to break out again- which frustrated me and I quit using it because of the other side-effects (bad-textured skin, irritation after sun-exposure, etc.). After I quit using it my acne came back worse than I had ever had it in my life! I'm thinking some kind of resistance developed while I was using it and then they (the bacteria) just went wild after I quit using it completely. I have read that if you use benzoyl peroxide at the same time it will prevent resistance, so if I were to use it again I would do the ziana at night and benzoyl peroxide in the morning- the benz perox would also help with the peeling. It's worth giving it a try overall- it does work well on hormonal acne.

Pros:

Been using it for a month, skin is totally clear!

Cons:

Makes face a little oily, also seems to enlarge pores

This is kind of expensive, but works. I had been getting huge cysts around my period plus the occasional breakout. My skin is clear now but it seems to enlarge my pores.

Pros:

Cleared my old acne fast. Not much redness.

Cons:

Very sticky. Makes my skin kinda flaky and dry. And takes 2 weeks to start working.

IT TAKES 4 EVER to work if your acne is bad

Pros:

None

Cons:

My face developed patches of alligator-like skin. I broke out with red deep pimples all over my cheeks that I had not had prior. Did not get rid of any previous acne. My face became more oily and shiny.

This product didnt work for me. I used it for two months and two weeks. Returned to my dermatologist and even he could see it was the wrong choice. It may work for some...not for me. Biggest waste of time. My rebate card covered the full price- so at least it wasnt a waste of money too

Pros:

It works!!

Cons:

Takes very long to see results and skin even gets worse before it gets better. Can be expensive and makes skin basically peel off in the begining

I started using this about 8 weeks ago. I have read a ton of reviews and they all say to be patient and it can take up to 12 weeks to work. My skin got much much worse the first month and 1/2. I wanted to get off it but decided I would give it the 12 weeks. My skin basically peeled off in layers and I got huge pimples in the begining. It was about week 6 where I started to see a HUGE improvement in my skin. I also started using an alpha hydroxy acid mosterizer and that seemed to help with the dryiness and peeling. Be patient with ziana gel and give it the 12 weeks before you make a decision to get off it.

Pros:

Very little side effects and little odor

Cons:

Expensive even with insurance.

Do not expect to see anything in the short term. I have been using it for two weeks combined with morning klaron gel and minocycline and the situation has gotten MUCH worse. Does anyone have any idea how long it should take to see results?

Pros:

Cleared me up pretty good for while.

Cons:

After about 3 mths my face starting breaking out again didnt seem to work anymore like my skin developed a resistance to it.

Works okay at first may cause redness feels like you have sinus problems right after you put it on.After a while skin can develop a resistance to the medicine and you may start to break out again.
