Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Made skin very very oily, red, sticky, and break out terribly. Very expensive. My doctor gave me a free trial coupon, but even after insurance my cost would have been 155.24 if not for the coupon.

This is the worst product I have ever used. Even my dermatologist switched me immediately on my one month evaluation.

Pros:

Reasonable price with insurance and discount card
One tube lasts for a VERY long time
No fragrance
Not extremely drying with the right moisturizer

Cons:

Purging
Makes skin oily
Does not clear acne

I was prescribed Ziana gel after going in to a dermatologist last June. I have used the Ziana gel every single night since then, and will be going in to a new dermatologist next month for a different product. The Ziana gel has simply NOT WORKED AT ALL. I had a lot of initial purging, found my very oily skin seemed oilyer, and worst of all, I consistently broke out. This past week I've had a very bad cystic outbreak, so I have finally given up on this gel. What I found interesting is that ever since going on the Ziana, my acne seems to linger even longer - I thought the Ziana would not only help prevent acne, but also would clear up acne faster, but that wasn't the case for me. It takes ages for certain pimples to go away even when using the Ziana, and the pimples certainly aren't being prevented. I'm extremely disappointed in this product. I had hoped very much that by this time, I would have clear skin. Instead I've got large, painful acne and a TON of hyperpigmentation marks. I hate looking at my face in the mirror. I feel like a freak. So it's goodbye Ziana.

Pros:

Simple application
Cheap

Cons:

Irritating
Drying/scaling
Extream purging
Not effective

I had used this because my previous prescriptions weren't working as well as normal, so I visted my derm and she recommended I try Ziana. The resultes were devestating, I went in for very, very mild acne, and traded it for a case moderate acne covering my entire face. It was not only frustrating, but both physically and emotionaly painful. I couldn't sleep on my side, smile, eat, talk, sneeze or even laugh without being reminded of my acne, the constant trobbing even disrupted my sleep. Finally I did find something that worked, a combonation of Tazorac gel and Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, my face has much improved, and I will never take my skin for granted again.

Pros:

- May work for people with dry skin.

Cons:

- Caused extremely oily skin.
- Did not diminish acne.

I used Ziana for a month. I remember at one point touching my face and being completely shocked by the amount of oil that appeared on my fingers. My skin has always been a bit dry, but this cream made my face practically ooze oil. Worse yet, my acne did not decrease (or increase). I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with oily skin or severe acne. I can't remember if it purged my skin, but my dermatologist warned me that it would.

Pros:

samples were free

Cons:

i never looked worse in my life

I went to the dermatologist for a spot on my face that he says is pre cancerous. so they used liquid nitrogen to freeze it. then i had two other blocked up pours that had to be basically seared with a hot poker. ok no problem. i was given two samples of Ziana to use as well. i dont have acne but i do get zits from time to time and i have large pores on my nose and above my cheeks an on my chin. the dr said that zina would help with the pores and i thought he said it would help to expose any other pre cancerous spots. so i began using the samples as directed. within 3 days i looked like a burn victim! a cyst formed on one side, huge red peeling spots around my mouth and the whole right side of my face peeled like a snake. it burned , part of it cracked and bled whenever i would eat. and i got huge swollen zits breaking out. i was so embarassed i didnt want to go to work. so i stopped Ziana and started using Polysporin to try and heal my face and nose, oh yea break outs on my nose too. It looks so bad that someone accused me of using Meth!! said my face is rotting off! The pharmacy called to see if i was going to pick up the script that was called in $472! i was given a discount card and its only going cost me $25 but i wouldnt want it for free. so 4 days of polysporin and cetaphyl and it almost back to normal but wow. definately not for me.

Pros:

Not very expensive

Cons:

My acne is worse.

I have used Ziana for 3 months. I have been patient as I knew my acne would get worse before it got better. However, 3 months later, my skin has shown NO improvement. My self esteem is so low. This stuff is terrible.

Pros:

I can't think of one...

Cons:

did not help acne.

this product was a little expensive and did not clear acne at all. I think my dermatologist told me to use this as a spot treatment and it did not actually do anything.
