Pros:

Got rid of my Acne FAST
Reduces Redness

Cons:

Extremely irritating the first few days.
Will bleach clothes
Drying (Moisturizer takes care of that though)
A little scared. Being an antibiotic, i'm really hoping it does not stop working.

I've been on the acne.org regimen for 3 years now. It worked very well and cleared my severe acne. However, the regimen did not clear my acne 100%. I still had several pimples on my jaw line and still broke out with cyst around twice a month. I finally went to the dermatologist We decided to give Banzaclin a try. After two weeks, my face was CLEAR. ZERO pimples. I started getting compliments too =D I did not have little pimples, I had pretty bad acne, cyst and everything. ALL GONE =) its been 7 weeks now, still clear. I do get one or two small pimples every now and then, but benzaclin takes care of that and disappear in 2 days. Im hoping for the best =D

Pros:

Cleared the spots and small bumps i had on my back

Cons:

Bleaches fabrics
Too strong for my face- terrible flaking, redness and burning.

This really helped the spots i started to get on my back after starting Yasmin. I also had skin like sandpaper which improved massively with Duac. I did find it way too harsh though on my face, which seems to be more sensitive. My skin became so flaky, red and sore and i had to stop after about 4 weeks as it looked so bad

Pros:

- Non drying (within reason.) I found that using a moisturizer about a half hour after application for the first week or so helped my skin get used to Duac, and now I don't have to.
- Slowed rapidly re-appearing acne.
- Free, but so is everything because England is a don country.

Cons:

- Didn't do much...

Sorry to do this guys! No one likes a bad review. I do think this product has a bit going for it, it's fairly gentle and I'm sure for anyone with light acne it would work, but for me Duac really doesn't fit the bill. I hope this isn't premature, as I'm at about the 3 1/2 week stage, but I mean results are seriously lacking. I'll happily re-review if Duac is planning a sneaky clear skin surprise within the next few days, but honestly I think I'm going to have to swap product. I'm using this along side tetrcycline, but it's far to soon to see results from that. My skin is exactly the same as it was when I started use, with the exception that I have far fewer white heads but equally as many blemishes in general. In a nut shell, I have a lodda spots. My advice to anyone who was reading this, if they've just started using, or are intending to use duac wouldn't be to be put off. If your acne's light, give it a go because the fact that it's gentle means its going to do less long term damage to your skin... (No scientific knowledge behind that so I could be wrong, it just felt a logical assumption?) But if your acne is moderate or worse, try something else. To be totally honest, I'd probably not recommended it. But that's only because It's not worked for me. Good luck anyway :) x

Pros:

Helped keep my acne under control
Works for many people
Contains benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics
Doesn't work out to expensive for UK users on the NHS
No side effects

Cons:

Didn't keep me totally clear

Before starting on the regimen, I was prescribed Duac by my GP for a year or two. It worked to keep the acne under control, but it never got rid of it fully. I also broke out quite regularly - I since realised that when I got to the end of the tube I would use less of the cream so I could put off going to the pharmacy. That inevitably broke me out a few weeks later! If you have mild/moderate acne, Duac might be worth a go. However, I would recommend going on the regimen, its kept me loads clearer than Duac. However I guess since Duac is basically Benzoyl Peroxide, you can incorporate it in to the regimen.

Pros:

-cleared up my skin; visible improvement within a week
-still clear a year and a half later - now I only use tiny dabs on spots (at first I would use the product all over my face) when I feel a pimple coming, which is usually extremely effective

Cons:

-occasional dryness and flakiness, some irritation
-pretty high cost; for me, it's a $50 copay for a 3 month supply

One of the first prescription products that I tried that, in just a short time, truly cleared up my skin. I can overlook the occasional dryness because of the very positive results. I take hormonal birth control in addition to the Benzaclin, but doubt that they're helping each other out as I had been consistently taking the same kind of birth control for about two years prior to starting the Benzaclin, during which I had cycles of moderate acne. Highly recommended.

Pros:

Worked well for a time, better than any other product. Free on the NHS. Simple and easy to apply

Cons:

Took 8 weeks to begin working, eventually stopped working, made face red.

After trying countless Oral antibiotics and Zineryt with no success, my doctor put me on Duac Cream. When I first used it it burnt my face (stinging, bright red), but after that first time never again. After 8 weeks (and almost giving up) it started working. It really cleared up my acne better than anything I had ever used before After around 2 years though, it has just stopped working for some reason, which is upsetting. The only other downfall is that it did make my face go very red and sensitive to washing/sunlight.

Pros:

this cleared up my skin within three months, just in time for spring and summer. people have come up to me and told me my skin looks amazing

Cons:

the first month was hell. my entire face was "snowing," as my doctor described. I could rub my face and a shower of dry skin would slough off my face. it was embarassing and makeup made me look even flakier

even though the first month will be filled with horrible dry skin and no sign of improvement, your skin eventually adjusts and start clearing completely. I dont remember a specific day it stopped, but the change was clear and my skin was finally beautiful. completely worth that one rough month.

Pros:

works extremely well on active acne very quickly, fades redness from acne scars quite well, not too expensive with insurance

Cons:

face gets extremely dry, had some experience with swelling last time I used it

This is by far the best acne medication I have ever used. I broke out really badly last year to the point where my skin didn't even feel real anymore. I searched on the internet and tried all sorts of different products and methods of clearing up my acne but nothing worked like Benzaclin. When I first started using it, my face swelled up quite a bit. After about a week, I noticed a significant improvement in acne, although it was still really bad. I used it consistently for a few months and my acne COMPLETELY cleared up. The only thing left was red marks which cleared up after another month or two with continued use of Benzaclin. My face was completely clear for months. I broke out again recently (might be from too much sun exposure during summer with little/no protection) and for some reason I decided to try random treatments that ended up not working. Again I got Benzaclin from my doctor and it's been a week now and it's almost completely cleared up. Red marks are also fading very quickly. BENZACLIN IS MY SAVIOR!!

Pros:

Works pretty fast about 2 weeks and stops you getting big painfull spots!

Cons:

Dries out skin in patches which shows up when you apply foundation or bronzer. Need to use a good oil free moisturizer! Also i do still get a few tiny spots.

I would 100% say give it a go for about 6 weeks and see if it works for you. Im so happy I tried it! I hope it keeps working and the acne doesn't come back!
