Pros:

-very effective
-starts working almost instantly
-not as drying as other products if applied as instructed

Cons:

-builds bacterial resistence, it becomes less effective after about 4 weeks
-leaves skin very sun-sensitive

It's something one should use to initially get rid of their acne, and then maintain their acne free face with a different product, or if you are looking for a quick fix just before a special event. A small jar (1 oz) costs about $120, but some insurance plans have a low co-pay. I had to pay $30.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Severe allergic reaction. After 3 applications according to the directions, my skin was:
- bright red, as though I had been badly sunburned - even make up wouldn't hide it
- tight, as though I had a face mask on
- covered in small bumps
- swollen
- extremely itchy - I felt as though I wanted to scratch my face off
- very flaky a few days after that.
These side effects occurred in the area where I applied the gel (chin and under nose), as well as surrounding areas (cheeks

Avoid this product like the plague, particularly if you have sensitive skin. I have never had this kind of reaction to any product I have used before, and I have tried lots of them. I had to go to my doctor who recommended a cortisone cream to settle my face down. I also contacted the company to let them know and ask about a refund, but they refused to take any responsibility, as they said any medication can have side effects. I called the Department of Fair Trading who basically said that I was wasting my time in trying to recover my money. If this was a cosmetic and this reaction occurred, money wold be refunded immediately. Think long and hard before using this. I would have liked to give zero stars it was that bad, but had to give one.

Pros:

Worked quickly, I could tell that it was working right away. My skin became much clearer after a couple of weeks.

Cons:

The worst part about using this was that it dried out my skin. It also made my skin red when I first applied it, though the redness went away after about 30 minutes. Pricey. Also, it stopped working! That's the worst part.

I would recommend this product; it worked very well for me. Unfortunately, my skin eventually became immune to its effects and now I have to find something else to use. It was expensive, too, because my insurance didn't cover brand-name prescriptions. It works, it just didn't for forever for me.

Pros:

Gets rid of acne fast. Give it two days, and the pimple clears out!

Cons:

It's pretty expensive here in the Philippines. 800 Pesos for 10 grams. THat's like around 16 dollars. But this tube lasts for two months. It dries up fast too, so make sure you cap it tightly.

It's very much effective. I use it in the morning. I'm a college student so I have classes in the morning. So I apply it during long breaks or in the afternoon when i no longer have classes. It is most effective when paired up with Differin or Benzac. But using water based benzac gave me better results. i've been using this combination prescribed by my dermatologist for over a month, and my skin has never been better. i have a bit of scars left, but they're slowly lighting up. :) Duac and Benzac are better than ProActiv. I swear!

Pros:

Benzaclin worked very quickly at clearing up my acne. I have only used it for a week and I am noticing a huge change. It also seems to prevent breakouts too.

Cons:

Benzaclin is drying out my face A LOT. even with the use of a very good moisturizer (Purpose)my face is still dry and flaky. It also burned the first few times I applied it.

Benzaclin worked very quickly for me, but that doesn't mean that it will for everyone. My dermo told me to be patient as it can take up to a month to work. So if you are using it and it isn't working dont give up hope. Also be prepared for driness! I love this product and would recommend it.

LIFE CHANGER
Okay so I literally never leave reviews for anything but this duac gel has seriously changed my life. In 2014 I moved cities and this caused me emotional stress to which my face completly broke out and for two years never managed to recover. I would use products such as bio oil for scarring and sucocrem to heal the after math of squeezing a spot. These worked at healing the face after a break out but did absolutley nothing to prevent further breakouts. My diet has been the same for as long as I can remember even before I had perfectly clear skin. About two months ago I had a big emotional break down as my skin was so so bad that I literally couldnt remember the last time I went make up free. The spots I used to get were under the skin ones on my chin, around my mouth and on my forehead. I eventually booked a doctors appointment and got diagnosed with mild acne to which I was then prescribed duac gel, I have used this now for around two months and my skin is almost completely clear, all thats left to tackle is the scarring. The side effects are very minimal such as flaking of the skin but exfoliating and using a good moisturiser helps with this. I also feel the need to mention how amazing the OLAY 7 in one moistureiser is in closing your pores so tackle oily skin. All in all I am over the moon with the product and will be back to the doctors soon to get some more. Also im in Scotland, UK so am lucky enough to get this free on the NHS. Sorry I dont know where to buy this gel elsewhere. Good luck guys :)

Pros:

Works very quickly
Is the most effective treatment I've tried
The tube runs out relatively quickly.

Cons:

Dries skin
Can cause excessive burning when used in conjunction with foundation/moisturiser.

Two days after I began using Duac, I noticed a big difference. I wasn't getting any new spots, and the ones I had were slowly starting to fade away, leaving my skin smoother than it had been in months! On the third day, I started using it during the day and applying moisturiser before and sometimes after I put it on. This significantly increased the burning sensation and got so bad, it caused burns across my face! It wasn't until I went back over my routine that I realised it was combining badly with whatever was in the moisturiser (i used three different ones -- all stung!). Same thing happened with my foundation. I noticed that other people were reporting excessive burning and had to stop using it. I decided to stop moisturising during the night and only during the day when I had washed the duac off, and my skin took to the duac fine again - and cleared up within two weeks! I would advise people to be cautious about whatever products they combine with duac -- because this accelerates the burning and makes it seem unbearable. They stop using it because they think it's too sore, but I do think it's down to the makeup/creams you use mores than the product, which only mildly tingles. At least that was the case for me!

Pros:

it works really fast and gets rid of pimples, small bumps and redness

Cons:

really drys out skin

The first time i used Duac i was using Clearasil Ultra 100% face wash, and after 5 days my face started to peel. So i stopped using it. I recently realized that using Duac with 2% Salicylic Acid really irritates your skin. I started using Duac again about a week ago but this time with Cetephil gentle skin cleanser and Duac still dried my skin, but not as bad. Every morning and night i scrub my face with Clinique dramatically different moisturizer AND MY ACNE IS BASICALLY GONE. use this product.
