Tough and strong
I have been using Duac for years. Using only pin drop amounts on the pore head of each pimple. Time consuming for sure but at least I don't burn my face to pieces the way I did when I didn't know any better and first started using it. Also, even though I have a brand new prescription I keep an expired tube when I need to use on a larger area so it's not as strong. But what I believe really helps - for all the users who have the red marks after - ask for a prescription of Tazorac. I use the strongest formula .01% - it's like using RetinA but it also conditions the skin at the same time. And when I use it consistently I can actually peel fine layers off. I hope this helps someone else. And for the person who left a note about not using makeup . . . when I lived in NYC my dermatologist insisted I use foundation to keep the dirt out of my pores. And it worked!!! He was a dermatologist for the top models in NY and he saved my skin. Good luck to everyone! Happy skin!

Pros:

Well i have had severe acne since i was 11, not just your odd pimple. I got to the stage where i didn't even notice a new spot, the new one's just replaced the old ones. I got this, It didn't work at first, on it 6 months now & 70% of my acne has gone, should be a couple more months but after having it a constant 5 years, i couldn't be more happy! GET IT.

Cons:

It dried my skin out like mad! It was flaking to really bad & did make it red for say what, a week if that, you will have to put up with the mild burning, so i suggest getting a fan & or something cold and putting on your face after applying your cream if it starts to burn, after a week you no longer feel it.

I think this is an amazing product and has actually gave me alot of confidence! I honestly never thought i would see what i looked like without spots, couple more weeks or months maybe and i will be able to say 'My skin is perfect!' Wow, that will be a day. Also, have salt water baths every day, i don't know if it just works while on this, but i have tried it a week and all red nes has gone from my face so im going to stick with it! It's free in the UK to if your under 16 or 18. MAKE SURE YOU USE IT EVERYNIGHT OR IT WILL NOT WORK! I would of loved for it to work over night, but it's nearly gone now & i couldn't be more happier.

Pros:

Works very well on mild-moderate acne.

Cons:

Can be drying. Purchase a good moisturizer!

I was prescribed this medication for my hormonal breakouts. I generally would get anywhere from 3-8 pimples right before my period. I started using this and after about 3 weeks I noticed a HUGE difference. Now, I usually only get one pimple a month, sometimes none at all! The only downside to using this is that it is drying, so I put it on at night, and use a good moisturizer every morning to help with the dryness. It's also worth getting a good exfoliator to use twice weekly to help get rid of any dead skin.

Pros:

Reduced mild/moderate breakout
Prevents new breakouts
Helps existing acne somewhat
Dries clear
Easy to apply makeup over
Feels lightweight
Lasts longer than label claims
Definitely worth it

Cons:

Drying
Doesn't work super fast on existing acne, though it helps
Takes a few weeks to kick in to begin with
Can be expensive if you don't have insurance Have to go through doctor

My pediatrician gave me a few little sample tubs to try for free over a month and a half ago. I wasn't noticing a difference. I was being super careful to use it on only each individual spot and applied it twice a day like she instructed. I finally got super frustrated and decided I might as well just use it up, and that's when it started working. It has steadily cleared up my breakout and it still working. I just finished the sample and am going to get a prescription, because it was totally worth it, even if it is a little pricey. The bottles look big though, and with insurance I think i'll actually spend less money than I was on useless over-the-counter stuff. All in all, it's worth a try, it seems to work for most people and you have nothing to lose. It really works for me, I love it so far!

Pros:

Left My skin feeling smooth, tightens skin, gets rid of small breakouts.

Cons:

Didn't completely clear my acne.

I will continue to use it even if it wasn't perfect, just for the fact that it made my skin very soft.

Pros:

--Will clear, or at least minimize, acne
--Works quickly (results visible within first days of use)

Cons:

--Dries skin, causing it to burn, itch or just feel uncomfortable
--Bleaches clothing
--Requires you to be consistent with use

After 6 weeks of taking minicycline without seeing any improvement of my acne, I saw my doctor feeling dejected. As a 15-yr-old, I've never had many problems with acne in the past, and although I don't suffer from cysts, my acne was definitely beginning to affect me negatively - particularily my confidence. All I can say now is that I'm relieved I decided to give this cream a try. I've used it for about a week and while I wouldn't call my improvement in that time drastic, the fact that I've been able to see a small improvement every day has been a huge relief and highly encouraging. Over the past few weeks, I've had very small pimples spreading almost rash-like over my cheeks, chin, and forehead. Just to be able to see some clear patches appear and the redness go down has almost returned me to feeling like my normal self. My only complaint is the affect of this treatment on my sensitive skin. After use, it makes the skin feel very tight - you can't really move your face, at all - but this isn't a huge problem for me because I use it before bed. And although it burns a little bit, especially with the first few uses, this doesn't really bother me because it feels like a very small sacrifice I have to make for clearer skin! Even if you don't have high hopes, I would really recommend giving this product a try. In just a week, it has given me most of my life back.

This product is amazing at first. i used it for a month and it cleared all my acne along with the scars to 90%. i was taking doxycycline 100mg alongwith Duac. just give it a try if you love your skin. i have recomended it to a lot of my friends suffering from acne since years at my university and they love me for this. it has completely cleared their faces. it only depends how your skin responds to it. but eventually it is my last resort and i love this product.

Pros:

Works well

It totally helped me. I originally had light acne, where I'd get about 5-10 random pimples on my face, but I just dealt with it. Then I moved to NYC and I worked and went to school and got super stressed out and my face broke out, like terribly! My face was covered when that had never happened before. So I tried proactiv, murad, some natural stuff, and other random products, but nothing worked. So finally I went to a dermatologist and they put me on Duac, Adoxa and Differen (just once a week). And for the first month I thought it wasn't working, but they told me to just hold out. So I did, and I also switched to mineral makeup n had this skin lady (she worked at the dermatologist, but had a side job at the hair salon specifically helping acne sufferers, but did other skin care things as well) basically pop all my zits ( it kinda hurt, n it made them worse for a week, but after that it only improved). And finally after that it got better. Slowly my face cleared up. And now it's been 6 months and I have practically perfect skin (minus a zit by my lips but that's from my chapstick lol, and some light red scars that only I see, because when I tell ppl they say Im crazy haha) And my skin is even better than ever!

Pros:

odorless, smoothed out my skin, easy to use, fast-acting,

Cons:

kind of pricey, can stain fabrics,

This is the best thing I have ever used for my face. With insurance, it still cost me $50 for the small tub of it but I am so glad I got it. I have had stubborn acne on my forehead and chin that have bothered me for years, after countless OTC products and even some other Rx treatments from the dermatologist, I found something that works. It cleared up everything and left me with the smooth, radiant complexion that I was convinced I'd never be able to get.

Pros:

I used it for only 2 days and its already cleared up about 65% of my acne its amazing! If you want to get rid of your acne, then i suggest you try this! It seemed to get rid of some scars and reduce redness which is weird...

Cons:

-the dryness like everyone else, but nothing a little lotion can't handle
-price if you DONT have insurance ($115)

It really clears up your skin quickly. One of the side effects was redness, though I felt that it cleared the redness on my forehead and cheeks a lot so that was a plus for me. Even my grandmother, who doesn't have the best eyesight... noticed a difference! Some are irritated by the dry skin effect, but thats the method of the Benzaclin. Benzaclin works by drying and peeling the skin of the pimples, but my skin didn't dry out that bad at all. I think that if you have really oily skin (like me) then it won't dry as bad. Just use an oil-free moisturizer!
