Pros:

It works quickly and effectively. I dabbed it on my pimples last night and when I woke up this morning I was stunned! I can't believe it works so well, but both the size and redness of my pimples were reduced with only one application.

Cons:

-I wish I knew about it sooner! So many facial disasters could have been avoided!
-My face was a little dry where I applied it, but not too bad.

I wasn't sure something so simple as calamine lotion could work, but so many people praised it on here that I decided to give it a whirl. And I'm really glad that it did. It's meant to bring out the oils from poison ivy, so it makes sense that it brings out the junk from pimples. Real calamine lotion also has zinc oxide in it, which is one of the main ingredients in ScarZone, so it may also help reduce scarring from pimples. I'm defintely going to keep using it.

Pros:

- prevents/treats existing zits
- oil production seemed to decrease
- fragrance-free, made my skin soft and left a milky after-glow

Cons:

- it's not clear, leaves a white residue
- a bit runny

I absolutely love this stuff! It's cheap and you can find it at just about any grocery store... I slather on some before I go to bed and in the morning my skin feels so soft and has a nice milky glow! I can't believe how well it works and how cheap it is. I'm never wasting my money on expensive skin products ever again. Calamine lotion is the best!

Pros:

cheap, fast, really effective

Cons:

can't wear it out of the house

So I don't have very bad acne, but every once and a while, without warning, I get these huge, painful, red cysts that literally take weeks to go away. And of COURSE one of them decided to pop up this weekend, just days away from my college graduation. Desperately seeking some kind of miracle, I started reading reviews on acne.org and somehow came across calamine lotion. I went out and bought it yesterday and wore it for a few hours before bed, then all night... This morning that huge cyst has almost completely gone down. The calamine has just totally dried it up. It's seriously amazing. It has left my skin pretty dry, but I would MUCH rather deal with having to moisturize the hell out of my skin for a few days than having all my graduation photos ruined by that massive cyst. This works WAY better than anything I've ever tried on a cyst (ice, heat, BP, SA...), and it's incredibly cheap.

Pros:

It appears to have shrunen my pimple, and the redness has definately gone down!

Cons:

At the moment I'm not sure if it will get rid of my pimple

So i have this huge pimple on my forehead. I put some of this on yesterday, and it appears to be working. It immediatly soothed my skin, and i'm pretty sure the size of my pimples going down. I'm not sure if it will completely eliminate my pimple, but it really does seem to be helping me. I'm going to continue use and see what happens.

Pros:

Extremely cheap and widely available; unbelievably non-reactive: anyone, no matter how sensitive their skin is, can use it; spreads very easily; excellent for reducing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation quickly

Cons:

not quite sure if it has actually reduced my acne itself

Love this stuff. I'm using the cheapo Walgreen's generic brand calamine lotion. I usually put it on my shoulders, face, neck, chest, and back at night and just wash it off in the morning (it comes off fine for me.) To emphasize how gentle this stuff is, you should know that I'm using Differin and Evoclin as well. I put the Differin on after washing my face with Burt's Bees Orange Cleanser, then put on Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, then put on the calamine. I was my body with Evoclin in the mornings. Calamine is a drying lotion, but even used with differin+evoclin, I haven't had any excessive drying (and I don't have very oily skin) I can't say that it's reducing my acne itself -- I think it may be speeding up the healing process -- but it DEFINITELY reduced post-blemish redness, even overnight. What I like the best is that I can use a really thin layer on my face and it dries almost to invisibility, and it works amazingly well to keep my face matte through the day, worn u

Pros:

-affordable than well known acne treatments and effective on all skin types
-drys skin but do not make it wrinkly or extra tight
- can be used for a wide variety of skin conditions for .e.g. chicken pox, eczema, skin allergy and the list goes

Cons:

-can make you eye swell it it gets in it.
-smell like jaze as well as carbonic soap
-takes a good while to wash off properly

i started using this product when my doctor gave me some medication that i was allergic to and i had a breakout of rashes and pimples on my face ears and neck.after using Calamine Lotion for the first day i noticed that it not only helped with the itching, but also sooth and dried up my irritation. Now its my second day and most of my pimples are gone, even though my skin is still a bit irritated.my acne had been reduce and i believe and that this may be due to the fact that Calamine Lotion is also a mild astrogen as well as antiseptic, wow!!! can you believe that.my skin is getting smoother and smoother.By using this products as well as taking some oral medication for acne which was prescribed by my doctor i believe that in the next three week my skin will look like i was twelve again, and in the next three months i will not have to wear make-up because i will not have to worry about hiding my acne scars.

calimine.. [how ever u spell it] is used to treat poison ivy- it dry's it out and reduces the redness, flattening the pore. so, obviously it works on your face. it's cheep, and easy to find at your local drug store.

Pros:

works very well, leaving skin pretty flawless

Cons:

only use at night as it might look a bit weird during the day

i have also read that milk of magnesia supposedly clears skin quickly, so i have ordered some online, just the plain version not any flavoured kind. i am sitting here with calamine lotion on my face right now, it is a miracle cure for spots. if u find it a bit runny, u can pour a bit out in a small container and let it sit for a few hours, it thickens into an ideal thick paste for easy application

Pros:

Really cheap, reduces redness and swelling quickly

Cons:

none

Dont exactly have acne, but i have the occasional breakout, definately reduces redness and swelling! Completely clears up small spots within a day, really good stuff! So cheap too. The zinc in it helps heal skin i think. To get best use out of it i sometimes use it during the day when im not going out, and use it at night. I find putting a thick layer on and keep re applying helps!
