Pros:

I was hesitent with some reviews i read on here at first such as drying up your skin. never happend to me. It actually cleared up my skin within 3 months as stated by my pharmacist. you have to be patient people. it's been nearly 2 months since my skin cleared up, and i've only got 2 minor pimples! definately recommend!

Cons:

nothing that i found?
i found when i first began using it and was reading the reviews, alot of people stated that they received dry skin?i didn't experience this maybe becasue of the moisturiser i used (cetaphil). the only form of skin drying i could think of is at the very neginning of using this product, the skin on top of my pimple peeled off. but that was part of the renewing process, so no need to be alarmed

BTW,i use the facewash¬ the cream. my pharmacist stated it was better because it was for the whole face.As it sort of had a bleaching agent,it would have lighten the whole face and not only where the pimple is.I started using this product on Oct 31 2009. in the first 4 weeks, i was breaking out&i was worrying that it wasn't working but making it worst!however, that is the process of benzac, your skin breaks out as it is in the process of renewing the skin.it quickens the development of the pimple.By the end of Jan, my skin was clear! i had a few scars but most scaring had cleared up compared to the biginning.Since then,i've only got 2 pimples.Very small in comparison to when i had acne. However,i wouldn't say that benzac was the reason why my skin is so clear now. Before using it,i used Cetaphil as a cleanser&during Dec, i incorpporated WitchHazel&the aspirin mask. This is what my routine is: WHEN I HAVE NO MAKEUP(morning & night): -cleanse with Benzac face wash(it states on the bottle to leave on for 30 secs but i leave it on for atleast 2 mins as i find it makes the renewing process faster.i also thought that since you could leave it on for a while with the cream, why not the facewash?) -tone with witchhazel(priceline should stock it) -moisturise with cetaphil. MAKEUP(when i use makeup during the day, this is what i do at night-time): -cleanse twice with cetaphil to remove makeup -cleanse with benzac(leave on face for atleast 2 mins) -tone with witchhazel -moisturise with cetaphil in addition to these, i would do an aspirin mask(some peole do it every 2-3 days, i'm too busy so i try to get it done atleast once a week).i buy a cheap brand of aspirin(hombrand/coles).you place 3 tablets into a small bowl, add 2 drops of water, crush them, add honey&spread onto face. i leave it on my face for 25mins and then i would wask&exfoliate at the same time.aspin=salicylic acid which prevents pimples. I know this is long, but i hope it

Works like an acne bomb!

Pros:

Acne cleared up within days!
I could see results after using it only once.
I feel extremely confident!

Cons:

NONE!

I was using a product for my acne. It wasn't very bad on my face but it was insane on my back and under my neck. I could hide it with some clothes, but I was running out of them, and of course as it was summer so my friends and I wanted to swim, but I was too ashamed to wear a bikini. I used a product recommended by loads of people for about two months but it just got worse! Everything looked red and bumpy. I bought benzac, and I've only used it for a week, I can barely see any marks or pimples on my skin! I feel so much more confident. I'd defenitely recommend it to any teenager! I'm fifteen , so anyone near my age is welcome to try it.

Give it time for complete (or almost complete) clearing
Well, I started using the 2.5% version while doing the regimen and it did work a bit. One thing you should know is that no matter how much moisturizer you put on your skin you will always be irritated, and finding a non-comedogenic moisturizer is really hard (needless to say impossible). A few months ago I went to my grandmas house for the summer where I couldn't find the 2.5% version so I decided to buy the 5% version. At that time my face was almost clear, I did get the ocassional pimple, but it was nothing compared to before and they did not hurt like before either. At that time I'd been using the product for about 6 months and I was really pleased. By then I noticed the moisturizer was breaking me out, and also that I did not need to use the bp twice a day (It was quite harsh). One thing you should know about bp is that in the beginning you are going to peel down a lot , but nowdays (almost a year later) I use it almost once a day (sometimes I skip a day by accident) and I don't get even near to peeling and I get about one little pimple every 2 weeks or so (before I use to get one angry pimple per day). My advice is to give it a try, but wait till your skin gets used to it, and also try to use a gentle cleanser that doesn't have sls.

works for me
I love My Benzac gel!! It's so amazing I have mild acne along my t-zone. If I put it on any spots overnight they are almost gone by the morning! and i use an oil free moisturiser after so have no problems with peeling/dryness.

Best choice!
I suffered from acne for almost 13 years now and I have tried everything you could possibly think off. I finished 2 course of accutane that lasted almost a year before my acne start coming back again. I was going to start my 3rd course but I read about benzac here on acne.org and I thought of trying it why not? Let me tell you that i give benzac a 5 star. It really helped a lot with my acne after one week. All my acne are almost completely gone. Your fave will get red and itchy in the begining but trust me it will all go away and use it only as a spot treatment. My daily morning routine before heading to work is washing my face with clerasil and then apply bioline toner before applying Auriga Melaclear tinted sunscreen which actually contains zinc oxide and it helps a lot with my acne. At night i do the exact same thing put skip the sunscreen part and apply benzac directly on the spots before bed. In a week time i noticed a huge difference my face has never been better. So for me so far i love benzac have been using for a month now and i will continue using it.

Would've given it a 4.5; A truly wonderful product!

Pros:

Did an excellent job controlling my acne.

Cons:

Can really dry out your face but moisturizer is your friend.

I've used the Benzac AC 5% for a little less than 11 weeks now and from the first day I've used it compared to now, it truly is amazing. Now I only gave it a 4.5 rating because it didn't really "clear" everything up. I'd say I'm about 90%-95% clear but I've moved on to the 10% variant to try my luck, hopefully it works. I really love this product and I'd recommend it to anybody.

Pros:

clears up skin, noticed results in the first few weeks and by and couple of months your acne should be minor, this is with consistent use.

Cons:

your skin will become dry and flaky, it will be tight and uncomfortable. this should only last a few weeks as your skin will be used to it by then. you should consider an oil free moisturiser.

this is a great product but bear in mind that your acne is not going to go away with no sacrifice. you have to be commited to using this product consistently, even though your skin will be dry and flakey for a bit. it worked for me i had pretty bad acne and after 3 months i was happy with my results. a year on and my skin in perfect.

The only acne treatment cream that works
I have been struggling and suffering from mild acne, white & blackheads since teenage and I still fighting against this problem until now, as an adult although my skin has clear up alot. I got to know this cream during my 1st time visiting a doctor to get a professional advice to cure my acne 5 or 6 years back. Since then, I use this cream on my face twice everyday. It took about 4 to 5 days to cure a bumpy acne on my skin; 1 to 2 days for tiny or small pimple. I don't think it cures white & blackheads much. I still need to go for a professional facial & extraction monthly to clear those stubborn white, blackheads out of my face. Not forget to mention, this cream is inexpensive and it can be easily found in most pharmacy. 5% benzoyl peroxide is more than enough to cure mild acne. However, I will pick 10% if I wish to cure my acne faster. Remember to moisture your skin each time after applied as it tend to dry your skin if without proper moisturization.

Pros:

dries out acne

Cons:

might be a bit drying for the skin especially if you have dry skin to begin with

i easily get breakouts because of my oily skin. i tend to get pimples like once a week and its annoying because once one is nearly clearing up,another one takes over. so it's a non-stop cycle thing. ive been using benzac, although im not sure which brand cause i get it from my derm. and ive been using it ever since ! although it might be a bit drying, it sure does help dry up the acne faster. especially cystic ones, which i get once in a while. so yes, really just try this stuff, it works i tell you ! good luck ! :D
