A savior
I went to see a dermatologist after spending much time and money on various products and methods. I tried everything under the sun including ProActiv +. Proactiv + worked on my face but did absolutely nothing on my chest and back. I even tried the Proactiv body wash and the cystic acne just laughed at me and spread. I finally went to see a dermatologist and he told me that the back acne and chest acne I have is rooted too deep for topical stuff to really address. He put me on minocycline anti-biotic and told me to use PanOxyl bar on my chest and back. I really don't know which helped the most, but this double barreled treatment method worked for me. I was really down in the dumps because it sucked not wanting to be seen with my shirt off out in the sun. This combo helped me a lot mentally and physically as odd as that may sound.

Pros:

My skin is now totally clear!! :)

Cons:

Can leave a bit of dry skin, but not a big deal. BP is also not great to get hooked on, but I'm currently weaning myself off

This stuff works; it's the only thing I always go back to. After horrendous results with Benzaclin and Tazorac (my brother asked if I had "chicken pox" on my face, my acne was absolutely outrageous), I started a regime with the PanOxyl bar. I am now so clear that today I could have gone w/o makeup; only a bit of concealer on some past scars. Here's my regime: 1. Wash in the morning with Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin (it rinses clearer than the original kind). 2. Wash again in the afternoon w/ Cetaphil 3. Use St. Ives Microdermabrasion crystal scrub every other night for scars and dry spots. 4. Follow with PanOxyl bar (every night) 5. Apply Clean and Clear acne fighting moisturizer (I also started birth control a few months ago; my acne is from hormonal imbalance) Keep in mind my skin is VERY oily, if yours isn't it could be easily irritated. I'm starting to cut back on the PanOxyl and use the Cetaphil instead at night. My skin FINALLY looks perfect again; it

Pros:

Works fast!

Cons:

Dries your skin the first couple of uses

I used the cream wash on my back and within the first week my back was clear! It really worked. It's best to use a good lotion like Cetaphil if your going out. But I really like this product for my back. I felt so confident. I wore a halter. But it works alright on the face. Not the best cleanser for the face but does wonders on your back for some reason.

Pros:

its clearing up my face acne and chest acne

Cons:

skin is just alittle dry

PanOxyl works pretty good so far. I have tried hundreds of products from proactive to prescription medications and none of that has worked. Last week I picked this product up and started washing my face morning and night and started to see clearer skin, less acne, and the dark spots on my skin is starting to fade! I would absolutely recommend this product for African- American skin who has trouble with ridding dark spots. Should follow up with a light moisturizer.

Pros:

Really helps keep me clear when used 3 times a day. I use morning, afternoon, and night and my skin had never been better.

Cons:

Can be dying but I use 100% aloe vera gel to combat that.

It works!! Give it a try.

Pros:

This is a great product! The only thing that has worked for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

Cons:

Dries out skin and takes out color in skin in the summer months. But it is resolved from using a moisturizing self tanning lotion every 3 or 4 times I use the bar

Once you figure out how much your skin can tolerate this strong medication you will figure out how often you can use the product. I used it once a day at first and now I use it 2-3 times a day. My skin use to 'get use to' other products because other products would only work for 6 months and then they wouldn't work anymore... haven't had that problem anymore with using Panoxyl. I will never have to switch to another product :)

Pros:

Helps with excessive oily skin

Cons:

I seem to be a little red/blotchy on my face

I have tried so many things for excess oily face, I dont have acne but very, very oily skin and this has helped, the first time I used it though, it stung my face a little and the next morning I had like drying, peeling skin...after that I used it only where needed and its ok now but I feel like now I see red blotches on my face, I dont know if its just me or if Im breaking out....but no more oil on my face!

Pros:

perfect for shower

Cons:

none

it helps with the break outs i get on my back. i strongly recommend this stuff. use it once a day in the morning when you shower. I think if it was used twice a day it would be too harsh on the skin.

Pros:

~Clears up acne...FAST.
~Inexpensive.
~Found at local drug stores.

Cons:

~Dries out skin horribly if not used with a great moisturizer. I found Aveeno worked well for me,

Great product, cheap, but watch out, dries badly. Make sure to wear sunscreen if you're going to go out.
