Pros:

- none

Cons:

- irritated skin
- drying
- messy

I started to use this after my cousin recommended baking soda since it worked for some of her friends so i have been using it for a little over a month. So far there are no differences in my acne's condition or appearance so i feel like i wasted my time and i have lost all my patience. There were no pros but there were some cons. I have dry skin so this made my skin dryer. So i don't recommend it for dry skin or combination/dry skin. It also tickled/stung my face when ever i used it so i don't recommed it for sensitive skin. Also the whole process was kind of messy. I would put a few drops of water in on the baking soda and then would mix it together until it would become a paste. It was really messy and inconvieniant. As usual i recommend you to try all the products and do all the research you can to help cure your acne and even though this didnt work for me it could work for you. Good Luck on your Acne Journey! <3

Pros:

-faded red marks
-exfoliated
-shrunk acne

Cons:

-bad on sensitive skin

It often stung and burned on my sensitive skin. It did work most of the time, but sometimes it made things worse. I had a healing patch of skin that was in between a scab and healed, and it opened it back up again. Now I'm back to square one to heal it.

Pros:

may have helped acne?

Cons:

BURNED MY FACE

ok, i'm not sure if my skin is super sensitive, or what...but i used very little baking soda and mixed it with water in...i even made it a watery consistency to play it safe and use as little as possible! and i rubbed it as gently as possible for only 15-20 seconds before washing it off. it literally burned my face. i have dark patches all over my cheeks...i think they're thin scabs, so it should take only a few days to go away, but STILL! however, it may have helped because i haven't developed many pimples in the last few days, and it seems like i normally wake up with a few new ones every day...it sucks. today i mixed some baking soda with honey to make it more soothing, and it felt much better that way. i think everyone should give it a go, but maybe try testing it on a small area for a few days to see if it burns your skin!

Pros:

-Brightened my complexion (& i just used it 15 minutes ago)
-Feels like it works

Cons:

-Burning sensation for while it was on my face & continued to feel it for a few minutes after I washed it off.
-Stings on the problem areas (acne, pimples etc.)
-Dries skin/tightens it up

I like how my face feels after you wash it off. It sooooo SMOOTH! Hopefully I'll see the results (clear the 3 acne bumps and blackheads) i want in a few more days :)

Pros:

•Makes skin smooth
•Starts working immediately
•Cheap & easy to apply

Cons:

•Dries out skin

About a week ago, I had been over the top stressed. I started breaking out pretty bad and finally bought a box of baking soda. Ever since then, my skin has improved very much so! :D In the morning I wash my face with baking soda (with warm water to open the pores), and then I close my pores using lemon juice & a cottonball. If my skin is kind of dry, I put on a little moisturizer afterwards. Works like a charm! I recommend this to anyone who has pretty bad breakouts. I also use the baking soda on my body. Not really the lemon juice. Works just as well. Remember: you must be consistent! Good luck :)

Pros:

Cheap
Very effective
leaves skin soft
doesn't dry skin

Cons:

Can sting if skin is very irritated

About 3 months ago I started to breakout around my nose and it spread to my chin. I tried many different products even cortisone cream which made it worse. I almost gave up and decided to try monistat cream and it kind of helped. I used monistat for a week and it helped but not entirely, so in desperation I thought I would try a home remedy. I started to use baking soda as a scrub in the shower. Then afterwards I used apple cider vinegar as as an astringent and well here I am about 90% cleared up! My skin is the softest it has ever been. I only used the vinegar now when I see eruptions. The only thing about the baking soda is that in the shower using just my hands the scrub effect is gentle, but if u use a face cloth it can be quite harsh. I will never buy face wash or scrub again!

Pros:

Edible (not on it's own though!)
Natural
Cheap
Has other household uses (scrubbing the tub, stove, absorbing smells in fridge, etc)
Easy
Makes skin very smooth
Helps lighten scars (very slowly)
Helps dry out white heads
GREAT for clearing blackheads on nose

Cons:

-Can be a bit drying at first but after a bit your skin gets used to it and doesn't get dry or flaky
-Temporary redness after use may occur
-Might burn/sting some people's skin

I've used this on and off over this year but obviously find it's most effective when I'm consistent. At first, I could only use it once a day or less due to dryness, but now I used it as my main cleanser, about 10-12 out of 14 cleanses per week. Just shake a bit into your palm, add a few drops of water and mix with your finger. Scrub in circular motions on your face and then wash off. It makes my skin feel very smooth to the touch after I use it and it's helping clear my purple scars a bit. But the best part is how much it cleared the black heads on my nose. It took awhile, maybe a month or more but I don't really get them anymore- and my nose was completely covered in them. I gave it a four instead of five because it hasn't cleared my scars as much as I thought and it doesn't prevent all of new pimples.

Pros:

faded red scars on my forehead and chin, which is the main reason i tried this, dissolved blackheads, dried out pimples
cheap!

Cons:

burned like hell, but i think it'll get better after a few uses

i've had acne since january, and i know it's not long, but who likes acne right? i only got acne because i have oily skin and i used to have straight bangs, and my hair made me break out. i tried numerous cleansers from Neutrogena (which worked pretty well but has soo many chemicals) and AcneFree clear skin set (which made me break out everywhere) my skin already feels soo much smoother than it has before. when i made the baking soda and water thing, you put one part baking soda and two parts water, which is good to start out with. it stung. STUNG. especially around the nose, where i had little tiny pimples and i guess my skin was extremely damaged. you wait until the mask has dried, and then rinse it off with warm water. i also recently started drinking green tea, which is helping, only one cup a day goes a long way. definitely recommend this to anyone with acne.
