Pros:

Cheap
Exfoliator
Deep cleans
Makes skin soft
Shrinks Pores
Gets rid of acne

Cons:

If used to much or roughly it will cause raw, red skin

I've been using baking soda as an acne treatment off and on for almost a year. First I apply Clean & Clear Morning Burst, while that's still on my face I'll have a little bowl of baking soda and make a thick paste with some water. I apply that on top of the Clean & Clear, scrubbing lightly all over my face, then I apply Equate Medicated Apricot Scrub and rinse. The reason I used this off and on is because I start to get red and irritated around the creases of my nose and the sides of my mouth. I use it about 2 times a week though. It really helps clear my skin and makes my pore less visible.

Pros:

Gives u smooth skin
Red marks fade away
Whiteheads get smaller

Cons:

Skin is very dry for couplr of hours
Might casue redness for first 20 min
Not good if there are inflammed pimples

It works as a perfect exfoliant. I do it once a week and I'm happy with results. Affordable and effective method for acne treatment. I'd say it gives me the same results as chemical peels.

Pros:

shrinks pimple size
reduces redness

Cons:

pimples look worse initially but looks better after 20 min or so.

I love this product. I had a couple of bad breakouts about a week ago and nothing has worked as well as baking soda. It has reduced the size and number of pimples on the side of my face in 2 days. Even thought it didn't get rid of them all, most have almost completely disappeared :)

Pros:

super cheap
-completely easy
-clears acne (for most)
-cleans skin
-great for oily people :)
-no weird smells or harsh chemicals

Cons:

-irritated skin
- drying
- messy

For all the sensitive skin ppl out there, instead of water, try using whatever face wash you already use and watch your time. My skin in extremely sensitive but I mix equal parts baking soda/facewash then leave it on for no more than 2 minutes at first.

Pros:

Makes your skin very soft, its very cheap, and of course its natural :)

Cons:

The first 3 or 4 times, you can feel it sort of stinging, its not unbearable, but it does sting. Its a little messy when it dries.

I do this twice a day. Morning and night. I do not use cleaners on my face, I have found that warm water works the best. Use eye makeup remover if you need to. Soo, I rinse with warm water, and I use the paste as a mask, leave it on for about 20 minutes or so, and rinse with warm water, then cold immediately after :) My face is super clear now. I love it!

Pros:

When used as a mask:
- Cleared my acne! OVERNIGHT
- Fades scars

When used as a cleanser:
- Exfoliant
- Fades scars
- Also clears acne

Cons:

If you use it as a cleanser:
- Face is somewhat red after first couple of uses, eventually stops
- A bit drying at first, also stops with continued use

So far, no cons for using as a mask!

I could not believe how well this worked on my skin overnight. At first I was using it only as a cleanser, morning and night, and it was working better than my normal cleanser! You may encounter dryness the first couple times you use it, and if your skin is sensitive/dry to begin with maybe you wouldn't want to use it 2x a day like I am. But definitely use it as an overnight treatment! The magic happens when you put it on overnight: pour some baking soda in your hand, put a couple drops of water until it's pasty/runny and apply to pimples, or all over face. Let it dry and go to sleep. It will dry and crack over night but you'll notice that your pimples are SO SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER!!! A friend of mine tried it and literally in 2 days her face had never looked clearer.

Pros:

-Cost nothing unless you dont already have baking soda at home
-Makes ur face feel oil free, clean and soft
- Very easy to make and use
- Dries out your pimples and cleans our your pores

Cons:

- Messy but worth it
- When you get some in your mouth when washing it off your face its very nasty!

I have moderate to severe acne, along with sensitive skin. I do this mask once a week or so I mix it with water and put a good amount all over my face for a minimun of 10 mins sometimes up to 20 mins. I'd recommend you do it before your shower because it does get into your hair but its super easy to rinse out. It makes my face so smooth and clean feeling, I love it especially if your like me and wear makeup daily. Your makeup applycation will go on smoother after this facial. My face feels just as soft and clean as a $30+ facial that i've tried before... So I totally recommend trying it at lest once.

Pros:

Cheap
Easy
Makes skin soft
Lightens any extra tan

Cons:

Texture
Stings slightly

I used this a few times as an anti-acne exfoliant. I think that's why a lot of people are having a problem with it over everyday, long-term use. Baking soda as a facial treatment is an exfoliant; it isn't meant for everyday use. It is also used to get rid of tans quicker. It doesn't lighten your skins natural tone, but it will help to get rid of a little extra tan. My skin is super smooth after this, though I didn't see much reaction when it came to my acne. I didn't like the texture of this compared to other exfoliants. It felt like I was rubbing micro-sized glass into my skin. Overall, I think it's a great home-remedy (I love making stuff for my skin in the kitchen), it's just not for me. (When it's a texture problem, that usually just does it for me) I'm going to stick to my honey and aspirin for awhile.
