Pros:

It seems that everybody has a different way of doing things. I was reading the instructions from Kip. It seems that everybody is using the asprins & water to make a paste BUT forgets to add the HONEY. I'm 46 and still have acne belimishes or dark marks had them since I was 13 and is willling to try anything to make them go away forever.

Cons:

If you FOLLOW the correct directions it would work. Asprin is a blood thinner. My first time on this site, But I'll try it . But have 4-5 NON-COATED ASPRIN,Honey Warm Water.

Mix a little bit of local honey into the paste. Honey is a natural emollient and anti-microbial which has been used for centuries to calm problemed skin. [Asprin for the dollar store, honey in the cabinet & warm water for free]

Pros:

Amazing spot treatment for swelling/inflammation
Cheap
Easy to use

Cons:

Dries up and falls off, all over clothes, after a few minutes.

I use this as a spot treatment everytime I pop a pimple because it gets rid of the swelling very, very quickly. If it's really swollen I let it fall off as it does when it dries after a few minutes, put a little more on the spot for 10-15 more minutes and the inflammation is completely gone by the time it's dry.

Pros:

Dries up pimple
Leaves skin soft
Insanely cheap
Exfoliates dead skin
Smooths out skin
Soothes redness

Cons:

A bit messy
Can be drying for combination to dry skin
I felt bouts of nausea when I kept the aspirin paste over night

I've been using aspirin as a spot treatment whenever I have a nasty breakout. I found that after using this spot treatment, the top layer of skin that lies over the zit/whitehead gets dry and scabs over, so the blemish heals a LOT faster. If I used this spot treatment one night, then next day the blemish will have crusted over and on the following day, it'll have fallen off when I washed my face; this may vary with people. For the paste that I use, you'll need: -aspirin tablets (one is enough for my face, but you can use more tablets) -small bowl or plate -drops of warm water -Tea Tree Oil -cotton swab/Q-Tip --------------------------- 1.) Put the aspirin on the bowl/plate and put a couple of drops of warm water on top. 2.) Let the aspirin absorb the water; go wash your face during this time (I find that the treatment penetrates the layer of skin better when clean). 3.) Take your cotton swab/Q-Tip and dip it into some Tea Tree Oil. 4.) Use the soaked cotton swab to mash up the aspirin that has absorbed the warm water. The resulting aspirin mix should not be chalky, but not runny; mix more water if you need too, but remember that it should only be slightly thick. 5.) Use the cotton swab and apply the paste to blemishes. 6.) Leave the spot treatment on for 15 minutes then use warm water and lightly scrub your face in circular motions; the gritty texture of the aspirin will double as a mild exfoliant that will remove dead skin. 7.) Pat dry your skin and then moisturize. I use this spot treatment about twice a week. You can leave the treatment on for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or overnight. I personally left it on for max 30 minutes because I became slightly dizzy when I kept it on too long; this will differ from person to person, but if you feel slight nausea, wash it off. If you don't have Tea Tree Oil, you can just use the aspirin by itself; the TTO is just to reduce the bacteria on skin and help the a

Pros:

dramatically reduces occurrence of my jawline zits!
dramatically reduces appearance of pores all over!
cleans pores and smoothes skin
effective after 10 min, no unpleasant sensation or aftereffect
after 2 weeks of using it evened out my skin tone and appearance of post-acne scarring
ridiculously low price!

Cons:

slightly messy to prepare and apply but no big deal
left me with almost no blackheads to squeeze out, disappointing if you know what I mean! I always had a good yield and now...damn!

The best mask I tried ever! My skin looks incredibly smooth all over, I only get very very occasional zits on the jawline and they are much less frequent than they used to be. It is the best thing I have ever done to reduce my pores! Now I don't have to spend hours on squeezing out my blackhead and worry about how dirty my skin looks, there are very few left to squeeze out, it's a miracle! How do I do it? I start with gently scrubbing my face with a fine baking soda powder (a great exfoliant!). I don't use soap at all on my face, I only clean in with fine baking soda. It prepares the stage for the aspirin mask. It's a greaqt combo, since baking soda has basic pH, which is not what you want for your acne skin. Acidic pH will prevent acne bacteria from growing! So I follow with aspirin mask (5 tablets of aspirin with few drops of water and honey as binder). Leave on for 10-15 min. It works as a gentle chemical exfoliant but leaves no sensation of stinging. I use the aspirin mask maybe 2-3 times a week, depending on how my skin is. If I don't apply it I use either vinegar or lemon juice diluted with water to bring my pH back in balance.

Pros:

I'm nearly 40 and have developed more issues over the years.

I started using an aspirin paste years ago. It works well and can be used as a preventive.

I did find a work around for the abrasiveness of crushed tablets. I use Aspercream! It's not terribly expensive, lasts a long time and simply works for me. It's not smelly, either.

Cons:

Can be a bit greasy. I put it on overnight and wash my face before putting on my make-up. However, it's not excessively greasy.

Worth it - not abrasive or smelly. Convenient.

Pros:

exfoliates
reduces redness of pimples
heals quickly
no dry spots but i have oily skin

Cons:

Burns

Its amazing!! my acne was pretty bad. i didnt like to go out in public when i had a breakout. now when i have a breakout its just a little one. i use lemon juice instead of water it works great! BUT if you have sensitive skin i would not recommend using lemon juice with it. i also use moisturizer either lotion or olive oil. which also helps with my oily skin! i do this twice a day, morning and evening before bed. Good luck!

Pros:

Immediate results !
Redness Reduction
Shrinks Pimples and acne scabs
Evens skin tone
Softens, no dry, crusty patches

I am blown away by the effectiveness of this - I just discovered the aspirin mask on this forum last night during my desperate search that has now lasted almost 2 weeks. I have always had clear, awesome skin and then all of the sudden, out of nowhere I got a few pimples on my chin, off to the side, beneath my lip and to the side of my mouth - so of course I picked and tried to pop them and they turned into scabs and then MORE, smaller pimples showed up so .... I messed with those too.... anyways, I ended up with some serious nasty redness, scabs, dryness grossness that makeup wouldn't really cover - I tried everything - Finally Aloe Vera and taking French Green Clay supplements started helping with the redness and pimples and the scabs started to shrink but I was still mortified to even go out to the store - SO this afternoon I mixed about 4 crushed up aspirins with Polysporin gel, Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel and Aloe straight from the plant and rubbed it all over the area in question - Maybe 4 hours later I washed it off, patted it dry and while the pimples are still there, they have shrunk dramatically, the scabs are gone and my skin is all one color...no red...no dry patches, no scarring or dark marks and only two of the pimples are still on the large side BUT those came to a perfect head which I will WILL myself to leave alone and let them work themselves out. I am so impressed, I can't wait to do it again tonight lol

Pros:

Reduces redness
Shrinks pimples
Inexpensive

Cons:

A bit crumbly

I mix crushed aspirin and neosporin pain relief cream onto a band aid and place it over any stubborn pimples before bed. It only takes about 1/4 of a tablet to cover a pimple. The next morning the neosporin has helped heal the skin while the aspirin takes care of inflammation. It's a miracle for pimples that decide to pop up right before a big event because this zaps them in 2-4 nights (depending on severity.) I love aspirin + neosporin!
