Not for me
I started using aloe vera right after washing my face morning and night in an attempt to go the more natural route with my face care routine. The gel was 100% pure aloe Vera and I had heard nothing but great things about it! However, shortly after I started using it my face began to breakout in smaller pimples (something that is common during the purging period). I stuck with it, but unfortunately it didn't pan out very well. I continued having breakouts caused by the aloe vera for the entire duration in which I used it (about a month and a half) before deciding it wasn't for me! I have extremely sensitive skin, oily in the summer and dry in the winter, and this just didn't do the job I wanted it to do for my acne.

Pros:

appearance of wrinkles. Diazolidinyl urea- a preservative- is another potentially toxic ingredient, is an allergen to certain people. DMDM Hydantoid- a safer preservative- and Tocopheryl Acetate- closely related to Vitamin E- are the only favourable ingredients.

Ingredients aside, the gel feels very cold when initially placed upon skin. You will also find that the gel tends to create a hard layer which can be washed off. That layer can only be the remaining chemicals- it lacks any sour taste

Cons:

suggesting that the aloe vera has indeed sunk in.

To be specific, I have been using this product on a nightly basis for 4 months and have seen no results. The product's moisturizing effect is nowhere to be seen/felt, any beneficial qualities of the aloe vera within are also nowhere to be found.

The product is cheap and rightfully so- $20 for a value pack of which I haven't even used a quarter of. The price is perhaps the one redeeming quality of an otherwise unsatisfactory product.

Fruit of the Earth- Aloe Vera is a Texas-based product comprised of six ingredients, and does not specify the quantity of any. The Aloe content is debatable- pure aloe has a strong acidic taste. The lack of said taste in this product is the only thing suggestive towards the amount of Aloe Vera within. Triethanolamine is apparently toxic and is the most likely candidate for the stinging effect I receive from placing this product too close to my eyes. Tetrasodium EDTA can apparently speed the

Pros:

Light
Non-oily

Cons:

Sticky when put on
Face tight when dries
May clog pores
Stings eyes
Doesn't do much to heal or treat acne

I have oily skin with acne on my forehead, nose and chin. I have been using Aloe Vera gel twice a day, both morning and night for about a year now. I would wash my face, apply a witch hazel toner, aloe vera gel and a moisturizer (which is my sunscreen). I discontinued using it a few days ago because I noticed it hasn't had an effect on my acne and I was noticing that my face was actually getting worse when it should be getting better. Though it may be hard to believe but since I've stopped using it my face has actually been improving and that may be because I've started drinking lemon juice and applying it topically on my face, so check it out. I think the problem with this Aloe Vera gel is that as mentioned in other reviews, it's not completely natural and it says no where on the bottle that it is non-comedogenic so I think that is why I saw no improvement in my acne because now I have both excess oil and this processed gel clogging my pores. Though it may have worked for for others, I have had no success with it so I would not recommend. However since I've struggled with acne for many years, to anyone who is interested I am going to suggest doing the following: *Drinking Green Tea at least twice a day *Drinking a mixture of Lemon Juice and water (be careful when applying it to your face, it can be really drying and may sting) *Using Witch Hazel as a toner I have no doubt that all of the above have been saving my skin from a complete takeover by acne. So also check it out! They are all natural anyways with other health benefits, so why not?

Pros:

SOMETIMES can reduce a cyst

Cons:

False advertising, not pure, can clog pores

THIS IS NOT PURE ALOE. It is 100% GEL, not 100% aloe vera, which is verrrry easy to misread. There are potentially pore clogging ingredients and irritants so I do not use this. It has dramatically helped with one or two cysts but is mostly useless and very drying.

Pros:

It contains no alcohol, feels cool on the skin, fragrance free, and doesn't harm the skin. It creates a nice, dry layer to protect my skin from dust at night.

Cons:

Once I apply it onto my skin, it starts to make my eyes water, and it always does this everytime I apply it before going to bed. It hasn't really done anything great for my acne. My acne seems to heal very SLOWLY with this product.

Once it dries onto my skin, it feels so tight that it's hard for me to smile. I thought it would MOISTURIZE, but it's just like hair gel. It's like a super thin layer of plastic wrapped around my face. It's not bad, because my blemishes heal faster, and it keeps my skin protected. And it's not good, because it stings a little, and it makes my skin very tight.

Pros:

great for body and hair
no scent

Cons:

does not work for everybody-- especially for those with dry/ sensitive skin
worsened acne
dried out skin
burning and itching

I started using this Aloe Vera gel to hasten the healing of acne scars and blemishes, as well as to moisturize my face during the day and night. In the first week, I noticed that my skin was noticeably drier and flakier. My blemishes were even redder than before despite the cool soothing feeling I felt from applying the gel. After weeks of continued use, my skin worsened significantly. My acne would not heal as fast and my skin looked so parched. It is such a shame because I heard rave reviews about aloe vera for acne and face, and I was so sure that it would work on me. Unfortunately, I think those with dry/sensitive skin will find that this will cause more harm than benefits. This gel does not work for everyone.

Pros:

A little goes a long way. Comes in a large jar. Not hard to find in stores. Inexpensive.

Cons:

Caused me to break out -- I guess it clogged my pores.

This product is NICE on my hair to define curls but SUCKS as a face moisturizer (for me). I will not use again on my face.

Pros:

-Smells nice
-Enjoyed how it felt on my skin when I put it on
-Cheap

Cons:

-Dried my face out
-Caused more pimples

I read the many reviews and decided to try it. The moisturizer I was using before made my skin oily. When I first tried the gel, it seemed to work, however, I noticed that when it dried, my face was tight. I continued using it for 3 weeks and ended up going back to my oily moisturizer. My skin was terribly dry and flaking. I started breaking out a bit more. I really hoped that it would of worked for me :(

Pros:

May help with acne redness

Cons:

Potentially irritating ingredients (except for the aloe vera itself) - DMDM hydratonin and diazolidinyl urea

So I tried using this with my moisturizer to get rid of my red marks, but my face turned a bright red several minutes after applying this, and remained until I washed it off. I tried this again over the next few days and got the same result, even though I had also stopped using my topical medications. For those of you with very sensitive skin, be careful about using the gel, since the two ingredients mentioned above release formaldehyde, which is a potential skin irritant/allergen. Patch test under your chin or jawline before you apply it over your entire face.
