Pros:

- Works well with BP in zapping spots
- Evens out redness of spots (doesn't eliminate completely)
- Evens out hyper pigmentation (red marks)

Cons:

- Stings for a second or so
- can be irritating if you use too much at the same time as BP

I use AHA+ as a spot treatment in addition to Dan's regimen. I apply it at least 15 mins after my BP and moisturiser as to avoid irritation. It's not a miracle worker, but I certainly think it helps BP do it's job. I know you can use it all over the face, but I'm reluctant due to the risk of irritation.

Pros:

leaves my face flawless

Cons:

can be overly drying/burning if your face is not used to it

when i first started using this, like others, my face would turn a bit red and would burn. but, believe me - the sensation will go away with regular use and it is WORTH getting through that initial adjustment phase. depending on how i feel, i use this product either every night, or every other/third night, and it leaves my skin feeling insanely smooth and also looking very clear. i definitely also notice the "glow" that other reviewers have mentioned. if your skin really gets irritated (sometimes mine does, if i haven't used the product for several days and then i try to use it again, or if my skin is feeling particularly dry), then i mix 1/2 AHA with 1/2 moisturizer and use that instead of the full dose of AHA alone. overall, this is seriously a miracle product in my book!

Pros:

*Doesn't dry skin out
*Reduces redness
*A miracle for my chest and back breakouts

Cons:

*Not as successful at clearing the clogged pores I get on my forehead

I started breaking out really badly on my chest and back after using a body wash other than Dr. Bronners. Nothing I used helped until I tried this! I apply this to my chest and back after every shower and my chest has been perfect. I also use Glytone retexturizing body wash on my back with a back scrubber while in the shower, since my back is less sensitive and tends to get a lot of clogged pores. I have tried using this to get rid of the clogged pores on my forehead, but I haven't seen the same success that I saw with my body acne. I think I'm going to keep at it for a bit longer since it doesn't seem to make it any worse. I would certainly recommend this product to anybody who has body acne.

Pros:

Smoothes + softens skin
Reduces hyperpigmentation
Helps reduce acne
Leaves skin less oily

Cons:

Slight stinging when used on broken skin
Thick consistency, only used at night

I've been on Dan's regimen for about 2 years now. BP really helped with controlling my oily skin and acne, though it didn't fix it completely. I used AHA+ about once a week just to break up my BP cycle. I stopped using BP recently because my skin was rashy from the summer, started using AHA+ every day instead. It made my skin soft and greatly helped reduce my hyperpigmentation, which is a huge problem I have (I have Asian skin). It left my skin feeling soft the next day but I only use it at night because it's pretty heavy and I use makeup during the day. Instead of drying out and "pushing" your pimples to the top to form a head, AHA+ diminishes them and helps with inflammation. Would definitely recommend.

Pros:

Best spot treatment around

Cons:

Makes moisturizer take a long time to soak into skin, can only order the huge size.

This is a great product especially for spot treatment. It can make your face a little red, so I only use it at night when I am having a break out. Be careful on putting this on the more sensitive areas of your face as it can make it burn and itch. ALWAYS WEAR A GOOD SUNSCREEN IF YOU ARE USING THIS PRODUCT AS IT MAKES YOU BURN EASIER!!! My only real complaint of this product is that it is only available in a super huge tube. I don' t use that much total product, and would love to be able to buy a 2-3 oz. tube so that I don't have to have such a large tube to store and so that it doesn't lose efficiency before I can get it used up.

Pros:

Does exactly what is says it does, really cleans up your face of flakes and leaves you with a much smoother complexion.
Also really is the icing on the cake for getting rid of that last bit of acne after being on the BP Regamin.

Cons:

BURNNSSS omggg it burns sooo soo bad for the first 10-15mins ish it literally feels like there's a heart beat in each of my cheeks :D

Kinda expensive cause I'm buying from the UK but not crazy expensive.

Great product does exactly what it says it does.

Pros:

Makes skin look gorgeous!
Reduces the size of pores, corrects pigmentation problems, gets rid of blackheads, and ensures painful zits never emerge.

Cons:

Bad initial breakout.

After battling adult hormonal acne for almost ten years, I think I have found something that actually works on a consistent basis. This product is seriously the REAL DEAL. Not only does it moisturize, but it clears your skin. I didn't think there was a product on the market that could do that! I am IN LOVE with this. I do want to emphasize that because this product is not harsh at all, it takes a really long time for your pores to purge completely. That being said, your skin will appear to get worse, and stay bad for a few weeks before you really begin to see improvement. Also, if you are a compulsive skin picker like I am, I advice you to really make an effort not to pick while using this product. The AHA is continuously removing the top layer to your skin, so picking at acne underneath the skin is going to increase your chance of spreading bacteria to surrounding areas of your face. Good luck :)

Pros:

Smooths rough skin
Great for older (40+ skin)
Seems to help in fighting new blemishes and helping heal those that already appear
Fairly good at keep skin moisturized

Cons:

Can sting a bit
Can cause a bit of initial redness (goes away after 10 min. or so)

About a year ago I broke out with horrific bumps (large, red, sore) all around the right side of my chin and under the right side of my nose. I have no idea what caused it, but I found the acne.org site and was reviewing products and decided to try this. I was also put on Acana. Within about 1 month the sores were gone. I still have one red mark from the one under my nose, but I have no other sign that I got this strange breakout. I have never had bad acne so this was pretty bad. I had to get 7 cortisone injections and this caused severe indentations in my skin (normal for cortisone injections). It took 8 months for the skin to return to normal. I am convinced that the alpha hydroxy helped in that process as well. It is very worth a try.

Pros:

seems to help new red marks/ new pimples
exfoliates well

Cons:

Can leave a burning sensation for a few minutes

can leave face looking red if you use a lot

I would recommend applying this to any new red marks or pimples that are developing, and on old red marks a few times per week. This can also be used all over your face as a good moisturizer/ and can help you exfoliate, but be prepared for redness for several hours!

Pros:

makes skin smoother, helps to fade red marks, great night moisturizer

Cons:

stings when applying

This is another great product from Dan. This product along with the benzoyl peroxide has made a huge difference in my skin. I'm not sure if I would say it's a great spot treatment, but it definitely helps to improve skin tone. Highly recommended.
