Pros:

Cleared up red marks superfast
Evened -out skin tone
Initally cleared acne over night

Cons:

Caused my skin to break out pretty badly when it was near perfect :( no bueno!

The 1st 2 weeks of using this product,I was sure I was going to add to all the glowing reviews of how AHA+ is an all out awesome adition to the regimen. I saw a major improvement in my red marks in just only a week, and lingering breakouts cleared almost overnight. However, right around the 2 week mark I noticed my almost perfectly clear skin starting to break out like it used to before I had even discovered the regimen. It was like starting from square one all over again.I waited paitently for 3 days hoping it was a fluke, but the breakouts persisted and increased. Its been about 3 days since I've stopped using it and my skin has almost returned to normal, clear, and gorgeous.I really wanted to like this product, and some aspects of it I still do.After scouring reviews on AHA I did find that some people experienced a 'purging' of sorts after inital use, while some people had continued breakouts.I'm not sure if I'll risk fidning out which one I am,but I otherwise loved this stuff so much I might just have to see.

Pros:

nondrying, skin feels dewey right after application

Cons:

seems to make my face more oily, does nothing for preventing or lessening acne

I saw all the rave reviews on here and decided to try the lotion. I used it for about a month (earlier this year) and it seemed to do nothing except make my skin oily. I've been trying it again this month (for about 2 weeks) and it's the same story. Maybe this product doesn't work for oily-skinned individuals or something. Maybe I should try another change in diet instead of relying on topical crap...

Pros:

Not as harsh or stingy as the Alpha Hydrox version can feel

Cons:

Very liquidy and dribbly
Expensive compared to Alpha Hydrox version
Absorbs poorly when combined with benzyl peroxide

I love the Acne.org benzyl peroxide but am unimpressed with the AHA+. The performance seems equal to the Alpha Hydrox version, but this has much poorer consistency and is harder to use. It is very liquidy which makes the tube hard to use and means you dribble expensive product on the sink. It doesn't absorb into the skin well. When I use it in combination with the BP, it pills and lumps on my face, and I have lumps of yellow goo all over (bleah!). The Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion is a better buy and easier to use.

Pros:

Does an excellent job of clearing acne, while also managing to fade scars and red marks in a less effective but still noticeable fashion. It makes excellent use of very high quality ingredients. Cheap

Cons:

It smells very unusual, makes your skin extra vulnerable to the sun (I burned very badly just spending some time at an outdoor mall), is runny, and has on occasion irritated and burned my skin. Horrible Container. Expensive Shipping.

This is an effective treatment for acne, and I would heartily recommend to anyone not seeing the results they're looking for on the standard regimen. Its very difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that this helps keep your skin moisturized AND treats acne AND fades pesky red marks and mild acne scarring. Considering just how much it does, the side effects (which can be equally intense) are a fair trade-off. If you can find the line between being generous with it and not using too much so as to burn your face off, you can minimize the side effects so long as you also incorporate sunscreen (or a moisturizer with SPF) when you go out in the day if you had put some on the night before. I never tried it outside of my face, so I can't attest to it working or not working for bacne, ect.

Pros:

its a great moisturizer, and it makes my skin look great most of the time.

Cons:

it smells bad! like bad mustard or something (it looks like bad mustard too). it also- due to the low viscosity, comes out of the bottle too much and too fast.

if you can deal with teh annoying factors, then its great ( i can) but if you have a sensitive nose do NOT buy this.

Pros:

loved the consistency and packaging, somewhat cleared my skin up

Cons:

very irritating, my skin would sting for hours! lactic acid is not as irritating and safer to use than glycolic acids.

It's an okay product, but I agree with those who say there are much less painful ways to clear skin than this product! I've had better luck with the Reversion Acne Control System.

Pros:

It didn't make my face clearer, but it didn't make it worse either.

Cons:

I can't believe how many rave reviews there are about this product. For me, all it did was make my skin so incredibly itchy. My face would seriously feel like it was burning, it stung so much & my skin is not even that sensitive!!

I gave this a product a fair 2-month run. First, I tried to use it as a lotion but after it stung so much, I decided to only use it as a spot treatment - it still stung like crazy! I read all the FAQs about AHA & I even emailed Dan/Brandy for advice. Brandy said to apply less - but if I applied any less there would be nothing on my face! I also tried it without applying bp beforehand but I still got the same results: itchy/stinging skin. I tried the product on my back & it wasn't irritating at all, so I guess it was only my face that didn't have a good reaction to the AHA. Bottom line, there are less painful ways to get 100% clear skin!! For people who don't have a good experience with the AHA, I would definitely recommend Paula's Choice 2% BHA instead, along with bp of course. It's changed my skin completely! I really wanted this product to work & I'm dissapointed that it didn't. I still love all of Dan's other products, though. :)

Pros:

Pleasant scent, evens skin tone out nicely.

Cons:

Doesnt seem to fight acne and has a terrible balling up effect rendering it almost unusable during the day.

The AHA has nearly no effect on acne but does give the skin a certain glow after applied. The balling up effect it suffers from is horrendous and makes me regret my purchase entirely. Its a useless addition to the Regimen.

Pros:

Makes skin smooth, and tingles so I know it's working.

Cons:

Caused new pimples, and it balls up so it is best used before bed and not under make up

My mild/moderate acne was totally under control from using the Regimen, and I decided to add the AHA treatment to make my skin smoother and brighter and to diminish my few wrinkles. After using it just two or three times, I awoke to three new pimples on my cheeks (where I have never broken out before). So even though it's not supposed to clog pores, it does not agree with my skin. It's too bad, because I liked how it made my skin look and feel (apart from the new pimples). So now rather than wasting it, I'm using it on my hands before bed.
