Pros:

unlike everything else this has completely cleared up my skin

i used to get big inflamed pimples on my cheeks and neck that would never go away. i tried proactiv as a last resort. i had literally spent hundreds on expensive products, and treatments such as peels, i even went through roaccutane (i think its called something else now) man that is horrible stuff, and not even that worked. so as a last resort i tried proactiv, i started off as reccomended using it once a day for a week, then the next week i would do one day using it twice, then the next day once. at first my skin felt really dry, but after a month it adjusted to it and felt normal again. during this time i never got a new pimple and my 'permanent pimples' started drying out and eventually disapeared. ive been using proactiv for 4 months now, and my skin is 100% clear. ive noticed that some people think its expensive, but compared to every thing else that ive tried this is by far the cheapest thing ever. the other thing i did was switch make up to an oil free foundation, so i now use clinique.

Pros:

After using this for 2 weeks, my skin is CLEAR. I can go out without makeup for the first time in YEARS! Plus, it hasn't dried my skin out at all since I started using it!

Cons:

The cleanser has a weird consistency, but it's exfoliating beads are NICE.
-Once you add the price of the Advanced Blemish Treatment and the Refining Mask, it gets more expensive, but it's definitely worth it!

I LOVE proactiv!!! This is how I use it: -In the morning I wash with the cleanser, apply toner and repair lotion, then dot the advanced blemish treatment on to any problem spots. -At night I wash with the cleanswer, apply toner and repair lotion, then dot the refining mask on to any problem spots, let it dry, and sleep in it! Three times a week I use the refining mask like this: -In the morning I wash with the cleanser, then apply the refining mask, let it sit for ten minutes, rinse it off, apply the toner and repair lotion, then dot the advanced blemish treatment cream onto any problem spots. -At night I do my normal routine, using the refining mask as just a spot treatment.

Consistency Pays Off!
Five months ago I was extremely insecure about my acne! Not only did I have it on my face, but on my chest and back as well. It was extremely unnerving and embarrassing. My mom decided one day that finally we would try proactiv and see how it worked. Turns out, for me, it worked miracles!! It took a couple weeks to kick in, but that was expected! It's unreasonable to think it will make a difference the next day. However, while the acne did not disappear straight away, I immediately felt cleaner and just generally better! Every morning I wash my face, back, and chest with the Deep Cleansing Wash, and clean the same areas every night with the Clear Zone Body Lotion and Clear Zone Body Pads. Using Proactiv has become a part of my daily routine and I do not plan on stopping anytime soon! I would absolutely suggest this product to anyone and everyone! It has allowed me to walk taller and feel stronger!

I'm glad it has worked for you But the same happened to me. I had pretty clear skin thanks to proactiv for almost 2 years My acne came back slowly even though I stilled proactiv 2-3 times daily after came acne came back fully I stopped using it altogether and then my acne got even worse. My acne had never been this bad even before proactiv

Pros:

When used properly, keeps skin clear!

Cons:

- 4 steps
- Need to use the product exactly as directed.
- Parabens
- costly

A lot of the reviews I've read here look like the result of using the product wrong. When you follow the directions it's great! Summary: step 1. clean your face with the cleanser (you don't have to buy the harsh one with the exfoliant that comes in the promoted "package", they have a gentle one too). I actually stopped buying the cleanser and use Spectro Jell because it's cheaper. step 2. USE THE TONER! this is really important. It prepares your face for the for the benzoyl peroxide "lotion". If you skip this step, the product doesn't work as well. I've tried cheaping out and using other toners, but this is really the best one. I'll fork over the cash to have clear skin. step 3. let your face dry completely from the toner before applying the benzoyl peroxide "repairing lotion". Use what you need - a little goes a long way. Let this dry, and wash your hands. It's peroxide- of course it bleaches things! step 4. after it's dry (and it shouldn't take too long - you don't need to use a lot!) apply MOISTURIZER. Use your own favourite brand. I use Aveeno. If you don't use a moisterizer, you're skin will be dry and flakey (because you're covering in benzoyl peroxide. duh) Make sure to use sunscreen if you use the benzoyl peroxide. But you should use sunscreen daily anyway. So, there a lot of steps, but I've tried a lot of products and combinations of products and this is the best, hands down. But do it right, or don't bother spending the money. I buy the products seperatley in Canada, so the cost is a bit higher than the package.

Pros:

It leaves your skin soft
It will clear up dark acne scars
It will clear up acne instantly

Cons:

Dry feeling
burning sensation if you have a cut or something

This is an amazing product for those who have moderate acne, but also oily skin.Not for those who have dry skin because it can dry it up more. but if you have dry skin and acne as well, then give Proactiv a try:) Good Luck, i am in love with my results in just 10 days already!

Pros:

- Cleared up inflamed acne FAST!
- Helped prevent breakouts
- Made my skin very smooth!
- Easy to use
- Works well, if you use it right

Cons:

- Can be drying
- Small bottle
- Doesn't clear blackheads or 'deeper' acne very well
- Makes acne worse at the beginning, but TOTALLY worth it!
- Toner dries out skin, it's unnecessary

I used the lotion A LOT. I take the bottle and squeeze about a fat, finger length line onto my hand and use that all over my face. It's going to feel like you're using too much, but keep rubbing it into your skin until it feels like the lotion is 'absorbed'. You need to use it CONSISTENTLY. At first my acne got WAY worse. But I kept using it, I figured it was 'bringing out deeper impurities'. About two weeks after I started using it, I saw a significant improvement in my skin. I'm SO glad I didn't stop using it! My skin is so much clearer and when I look in the mirror I don't see a ton of zits or uneven skin, I see clear skin! (((Also, I changed my pillow case twice a week. It helped clear up my skin a lot.)))

Pros:

It really works for face acne

Cons:

Not so much for back acne...
Other Proactiv products with salicylic acid doesn't really work for me

I have been using this product for 4 years now. I should say that I could no longer live my life without it. Thank you PROACTIV. I have had acne for more than 10 years. I've been through a lot of treatments but nothing seemed to work. It was only after I used the proactiv system that my acne has cleared up. Other Proactiv products like "Concealer plus" & " Body lotion" or anything with salicylic acid content doesn't really work for me. Neutrogena with salicylic acid doesn't work for me as well so I suppose it's because of that active ingredient. By the way, Proactiv product doesn't really work for my back acne... I have been using it for 2 years now. Or maybe it's not acne, it could be some some allergies from chicken or other fried foods.

Pros:

fairly inexpensive, started working almost right away, leaves skin smooth & less oily

Cons:

cleanser is a little harsh at first

I have only been using Proactiv for about 2 weeks and I have seen a drastic improvement in not only my acne but the overall condition of my skin. It has become more smooth, supple, and youthful looking, and has also become far less oily, which has always been a problem for me. I have used several other products and nothing has worked like Proactiv. I love it!!

Cons:

A little pricey

I have been using this for going on two months. Had pretty significant acne..especially on my jaw line. Nothing was working and then I got this. I know some say it didn't work for them or made their acne worse but for me personally it was perfect. I love the mask. I use it maybe once a week. I had HUGE pores before. It makes my skin look smooth, healthier, clearer. I just don't think I will ever try anything else. I am 38 with moderate stress and terrible eating habits. That said, it was like a wonder drug for me.

Pros:

I'd tried everything before proactiv without results. I didn't believe there would be the quick fix, but for me, proactiv works 100% and I'm delighted. No spots since the second week of using proactiv - over a year now. Worth every cent.

Cons:

I use it religiously twice a day so no cons around it's effectiveness. However, learnt the hard way - don't get it on your clothes (especially cheap material as it will be ruined). Use white towels only.

Without exaggeration, it's been the best find for me in terms of health and beauty. I read all the reviews before I decided to buy it and it might not work for everyone but it's made a huge difference to me. Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't give it a go 14 years ago when I first started getting acne. Why did I put up with it for so long unnecessarily?!
