Pros:

It makes my skin clear it vanishes blemishes and it makes my skin all one colour. It also makes it super smooth.

Cons:

Its expensive.

Im 16 and I dont have overly bad acne or acne at that, but I love Proactive. It really does the job, I dont have to worry about waking up with a wopping huge pimple on my face. I barley wear make up when im using proactive because it makes my skin look great! Its expensive but so worth it. Ive heard that it doesnt work on some people and they say its sh*t, get over it seriously. If it doesnt work for you then it doesnt work, skin vary's.

Pros:

it definitely makes your skin softer, cleanses, relieves blemishes, ect.

Cons:

it gets your skin addicted, so if you miss one day of washing your face with this product, you may break out. also be careful if you have very sensitive skin, because it may have the opposite affect rather than to clear up your acne.

i've been using this product for a little under a month now, since about thanksgiving. this is by far the best acne treatment i have ever used. it works differently on different skin. for my mother and my sister, it caused them to break out worse; so they stopped using it. but they have VERY sensitive skin. within my whole time using this product, the only time my skin became worse was when i missed using it for a day or so; when washing my faces with other products. but that's one problem thats very likely to happen with other products as well. i would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking to clear up all or most of their acne. because it has worked beyond well for me. after only one day of using it i noticed results, and i absolutely love this product. not only is the price a reasonable price, because you do get a lot for the money, but the product is by far amazing. i give it 5 stars without a doubt. thankss guthyy renkerrrrrr

Pros:

-Clears Skin
-Evened out my skin tone
-My very oily face...looks a little less oily

Cons:

-A LITTLE drying
-Makes my cheeks red :(
-Expensive

My skin is basically acne prone, oily, but sensitive. Okay so all throughout high school I always had bad skin. Not MAJOR acne. But def lots of not cute pimples. Every product... Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, Aveeno, Cetaphil.. nothing worked for me.I finaly decided to give in and order Proactiv. Well it def did clear up my skin for a like a year. Maybe a random pimple here and there.. but nothing too bad. I loved it.It did make my face a little red though and I hate that. My skin is like a medium color and my cheeks would just look stupid and red. So I was like okay my skin is clear for a year maybe I don't need Proactiv anymore... WRONG. I tried a simple cleanser (Purpose)... and I broke out like no other. SO BAD. So I yeah I went back to Proactiv (used the extra strength formula to get this dam pimples away) Once this all clears up.. I'll go back to the regular proactiv and maybe try it with a diff toner to see if I'm still red? It's a love/hate thing.. but it keeps my skin clear!!

Pros:

It's the ONLY thing that I've tried that works!!! I've tried all the acne kits from: Murad, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear and Clinique.

Cons:

I've noticed if I'm out in the sun all day and I come home and use the product, that my skin tends to get redder and more sensitive.

It's been amazing to me, so I'm wouldn't even complain about the price. I'm 27 years old and I never had terrible skin, but I had the skin that constantly had at least 2 HUGE zits on my face at all times ever since I was 15. I LOVE PROACTIV!!!! Now I just need somthing for all the scars on my face. My friends and family have all noticed my newly clear face. I wish I would have tried it earlier... I was just a little iffy about a TV info-mercial product. I LOVE IT!!!

Cons:

Have you ever tried complaining to a member of Staff on the phone in America? GOSH! SO frustrating! They made errors with my shippment, apologised but took forever to send a replacemnt and then eventually deleted me from their system in error!ANGRYYYY

It works but they need to ensure they send it when they're meant to. It SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO works! I cant stress how much more confident it made me. The world noticed! It didnt work for my cousin tho :(

Works for me

Pros:

Clears acne
Doesn't dry my face

Cons:

Another cleanser might be more effective

A lot of people say how proactive is a scam and how it makes acne worse if you stop using it. Well, duh, of course acne would be worse if you stop using any acne product, because the thing about acne, is you have to use acne products consistently. I think that acne would come back after stopping the use of any benzoyl peroxide product. I started proactive about a year ago, and I stopped using it 3 months ago, and just started using it again (i stopped using it 3 months ago because I was travelling and didn't bring it with me). So yes, after I stopped using it, my face was a disaster. But I think that it's only because I didn't use ANY acne products for like a week, and washed my face once a day with regular soap. My face was a disaster, yes, and later on I got it in control with benzac ac 5%, which is the only thing I with BP that I could find while I was travelling out of country. But I really think that any acne products require consistent use, and of course, if you quit, acne will probably come back (unless you grew out of it). And also, I must admit, that I use a whole lot more of the repairing treatment than just a "thin layer". I use a moderate amount of it, just like Dan recommends (using benzoyl peroxide). Also, the toner has glycolic acid, which is an AHA and helps give the skin a clear texture and sometimes even helps white heads. I'm not sure about the cleanser though, because right now I also started experimenting with oxy 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser to see if that would be more effective than the proactiv 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser. I also am experimenting with 2% salicylic acid cleansers right now and combining them with proactiv toner and repairing treatment. I don't order proactiv on their site; I buy it at the mall. They actually have a little stand at my mall and I can buy proactiv for cash, and they have a person there recommending how to use proactiv and stuff. So I'm not just buying it from a machine, and I'm not ordering it online. If you want to get proactiv, be sure to check their website for their selling locations. It might be at a mall near you, and that way you can get it right away in person instead of ordering it and having them bill you every month. I wouldn't recommend ordering on their website, but if you have to order it online, just order it from amazon. That way you won't get billed extra or anything. And I recommend using more of the repairing treatment on your face than they recommend. Use a moderate amount of the repairing treatment. Also, a good thing is, is that it doesn't really dry my face. I know a lot of people say that it dries their face, but idk, it doesn't dry mine. Perhaps my face got used to 5% benzac ac over the summer (and that did dry my face), and now my face is relaxing because proactiv has only 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. But, I remember when I used it in may and the whole year last year, I did not really need to put on any moisturizer at all. maybe only occasionally. I think this is because the repairing treatment combines benzoyl peroxide with moisturizer. Idk though. Might work for some but not for others. Here is my recommendation on proactiv: -Not sure about the cleanser. You could try it. Other cleansers may be more effective, but really depends on your skin. Try experimenting with the cleanser, if you don't like it, then experiment with other cleansers. -Toner is good. I like it because it has glycolic acid and might help get rid of white heads and black heads. Also helps even out skin tone. -Repairing treatment is great, because it has moisturizer mixed with benzoyl peroxide, and it is effective for me. Doesn't dry my skin out, but everyone is different. Use more than they recommend though, use a moderate amount of repairing treatment on your face. Proactiv has cleared my face before, and I am starting to use it again after a summer of using other treatments. I have mild/moderate acne by the way. When I'm not using acne treatments, it's obviously moderate, but when I am using acne treatments, it is mild.

Pros:

Cleared my skin
Made it Soft
Worked within 2 weeks
No breakouts anymore!

Cons:

I broke out for the first week and a half.

It worked amazing for me! I broke out for the first week pretty bad, but after that, my skin was clear. I'm going to stick with this product forsure. My skin has never looked better. I used the cleanser, toner, refining mask, spot treatment, and green tea moisturizer, twice a daily. I recommend this to anyone with moderate or light acne.

Pros:

Took less than a week to work
Got rid of all types of blemishes
Improved skin tone

Cons:

Drying

I've had bad adult acne for the past 3 years, and didn't try Proactiv because I had allergic reactions to benzyl peroxide in high school. So I have been using otc acne washes/meds as well as Zen Med, which helped with some of the pus-filled zits, but not the flesh-colored whiteheads (you know the ones that you aren't supposed to squeeze but you do anyway and a tiny stream of something gross and white comes curling out? Yeah, I know, gross). I used my sister's Proactive one night because I had no other cleanser options, and because I had no negative reactions, I decided to give it a go. I don't want to get anybody's hopes up, but this cleared up my zits AND my whiteheads in less than two weeks. I haven't worn face makeup for the last month and that is a first in a loooong time! I don't know if it stops working after a certain amount of time like some say, but I will continue using it until then because it is freaking awesome and I feel so good about my totally clear skin! On a side note, I'm super sensitive to breakouts using even the gentlest of moisturizers, so I use the Dual Action Moisturizer, Target brand, to help with the drying and I use the face wash twice a day, but the toner and cream only at night.

Pros:

Cleared Acne
Soft Skin

Cons:

Initial Side Effects
Somewhat pricy

I had used Proactiv all throughout high school to keep my skin clear, and it worked really well. I eventually switched to cheaper drugstore cleansers in college because my skin was staying clear. When I recently switched birth control brands, my face broke out worse than it ever had before, and no drugstore acne products were helping. I decided to try Proactiv again. I did go through the initial side effects, but as I had been through them before, I wasn't worried. For the first 2 weeks, my face was dry, red and itchy around my t-zone, and my skin had a slightly bleached appearance. The breakouts also got worse during these two weeks, (as the product warns may happen). I was patient though, and after a month, my face had significantly cleared. 3 months later, my face is completely clear 98% of the time. I do use a moisturizer at least once a day, especially around my eyes, which is an area of my face that tends to dry out first with Proactiv. You have to be patient. Also, the bottles do appear small, but because I use the amount directed, I can make one bottle last 2-3 months. Due to the fact that there are several different skin types, nothing is going to work for absolutely everyone. However, I would say it's worth a try if you haven't found the right product yet!
