Pros:

it feels really clean

Cons:

It didn't work at all for me and it smells really bad. I used it exactly how it says to, two times a day and for the appropriate amount of time. I'm disappointed.

I think it does work for some people. It's just a hit or miss type thing.

Pros:

exfoliated my skin

Cons:

dident stop my breakouts or help my redness. Even tried Extra Strength. After 4 months i returned it and got my refund.

Pros:

Pros:

cleared up severe acne

Cons:

didnt take all of it away

it was alright, but my skin just didnt clear up as much as i would of liked

Pros:

everything!!

i had moderate acne. i tried the proactiv system because of the ads on tv and making me feel like i found the solution. hell no my pimples did not go away. it made me break out even worse!! then my face started to peel away, and i bled all over thru each and every pore. then demons came out of my face and asked me how much proactiv was. i told the demons "no! dont buy it! it will make your acne worse!" now i have no face and i wear a paper bag with the words "whole foods" on it.

Pros:

It seemed like it was working and made my spots seem smaller

Cons:

My face is so dry and irritated and red I had to stop using it after only 3 days.

I have never had skin problems and when I got pregnant I started breaking out really bad. I ordered proactive (after I consulted my doc) and started using it. After 3 days my face is so dry and irritated it stings like crazy to put regular face lotion from a dermatologist on it. I won't use it anymore!

Pros:

It cleans your skin really, really good. It cleans it too good.

Cons:

It really, really dried my skin out and makes it itch and peel especially around my mouth. It burns really, really bad when you apply it to your face. Almost unbearable burning sensation

I have paid much more and much less for better products at Avon and Clinque. I do not like the way it dries your skin out so badly. My skin looked and felt much better before I ever started using this stuff. I do not like the auto ship and pay every 60 days. I am cancelling and trying to send what I have back. It is not worth it at all. I am very dissappointed with Proactiv.

Pros:

Skin felt clean thats about it.

Cons:

Biggest con is that it didn't work! VERY dried out skin. Lets just say this I didn't have Jessica Simpsons skin after 4 months of use.

Just get a regular bar of soap and virgin olive oil too keep the skin from drying!

Pros:

fills you with false hope

Cons:

I was on it for a week and started to notice the redness disappearing. However my shipments were always late and my skin consistency could never be kept the same with this product. My skin gets stung by the third product and gets really red.

It sucks.

Pros:

good for immediate treatment of a breakout; calms down redness

Cons:

does not prevent it; must dish out almost 100 dollars for kit; causes a lot of dryness, flaking; refining mask smells awful

If you want a quick fix for a troublesome breakout, then spot-treating with the refining mask is great. For preventing and ultimately defeating acne, this is not the right choice (especially if acne is more severe).
