Pros:

Keeps your skin feeling smoother and moderately reduces your overall acne and number of breakouts.

Cons:

You'll still get the ocasional breakout or pimple here and there though not as severe or noticable as before proactiv

It works, but it's no miracle.

Pros:

Great product for me. Cleared up all of my acne, outbreaks became more infrequent.

Cons:

Can be overdrying. I only used cleanser/step 1 and quit using the toner.

Great product, although can tend to overdry skin.

Pros:

will clear up some mild to moderate acne. will leave you with glowing skin if it works for you.

Cons:

Can be expensive in the long run. I ordered the 90 day supply kit. With 2 additional products.

This product did help clear up my acne. It did dry my skin out a bit but nothing that a good moisturizer could not fix. My skin is clear and glowing. This product can be quite expensive in the long run but since it worked for me I will continue to buy it. This product is a 50 50 product either it will work for you or it wont. Their are other products out their with a better percentage rate of working for the general public.

i love it... i have only used for days and already my skin looks and feels better

bottom line is people DO NOT use it correctly so its not proactive its YOU!!!!!! it will not dry your skin out unless you misuse it or dont follow directions about not using certain parts if you do dry out.. its one of the number one selling acne products so it must do something great...btw if you want to have nice skin no matter what product you use you will have to stay on it or your skin will break out.. research it i have because im a nursing major.. i used clinque and i broke when i didnt use it....you just have to find what works for you

Pros:

exfoliates well, leaves skin soft, great for adult acne

Cons:

will too harsh for teen acne, can be drying at first

I started using this product 2 years ago (I'm 27 now) and Proactive has really helped keep my skin clear. I think one of the reasons this works for me is because at my age my acne is on the mild side. If your acne is severe (like mine when I was a teenager) then Proactiv probably won't help you. But for adults I think you will have good results...the cleanser exfoliates very well (prevents dead skin cells from clogging pores) and the repairing lotion kills bacteria. However, I don't use the toner because that dried out my skin too much. Also, a word of caution: the cleanser DOES NOT remove makeup! If you try to wash your face with makeup still on, the cleanser exfoliating granules will just push the makeup into your pores and create a nasty breakout situation. I use Clean and Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes (oil free) before I use the Proactiv cleanser and that really works wonders.

Pros:

I tried this product like 1month ago and it worked then my mom told me they had it at costco. wrong! it was something different.

I was wondering did anyone breakout when beginning to use this product?

Pros:

I get compliments all the time on my skin about how its smooth/clear from girls and how its soft from guys. There is no need for me to wear make-up all over my face anymore.

Cons:

Its is kinda expensive(for a poor college student) I broke out more after I started using it but I kept at it, and it cleared right up.

You have to keep at it!! I started using it in High School. Yes, it made me break out more the first month but it vanished just as quickly. I guess because my skin was adjusting/clearing itself out. You have to discover through trial and error..and yes maybe a little effort/experimentation, how to manipulate the system to work for you. I myself use more toner. I keep the mask on overnight on pimples, when I do get them, and they clear up in 1-2 days. I do performance work, so my complexion is important to me. This stuff works and i've recommended it to fellow co-workers and they are just as happy with the results. Just grin and go on and give it time.
