Pros:

The toner works fine. The repairing lotion has benzoyl peroxide in it and I still use it to control acne all over my face. I used the total system once every other day for about a year and at first my acne disappeared.

Cons:

The product is very drying. I could never use it twice a day as recommended. I could only use it once every other day. After a year my acne came back and I could not get rid of it using this product anymore.

I get one or two large cysts every month. For the first year Pro-active helped keep these cysts small or sometimes non-existent but after that I had a breakout all over my chin and forehead that I could not control with the product. I got some large persistent cysts that lasted 3 to 4 months each. Internet research indicated that other people with sensitive skin had problems with this product and that the harshness of the renewing cleanser was probably irritating my acne more than it was helping it. I have since switched to a different, milder cleansing program with an over the counter benzoyl peroxide cream and my face has cleared up. Although I no longer use the cleanser at all I sometimes do use the toner and repairing lotion. I do not seem to have a problem with them. However once I use them up I will not rebuy them.

Pros:

This product got rid of the majority of the Acne I had. Thats the only good part.

Cons:

It dried out my face so much, I used Bath and Body Lotion just to get my face to normal (not including acne). The Toner (blue stuff) really burned, and the lotion they gave me was no good whatsoever. It took awhile to get back to normal.

I would not really recommend this product to anyone. My friend uses it and thinks its amazing but she still has acne on her face and its been a couple months for her. I used it for a couple of weeks and I hated the burning sensation from the Toner and the Lotion did no good. I also hated it when people really made fun of me because my face was so dried out. I stopped using it about a month or so ago and now my face is not dried out it just still has a little acne (I never had a lot to begin with but I didn't want the big red dots on my face, smaller would be nice) So I am about ready to give up, I need to try something else out.

Pros:

like someone said it works on mild acne like where you have very very very little.

Cons:

For me it had huge cons. To this day I regret using this product, instead of clearing the acne it produced scars on zits were.

I don't really recommend it. It didn't help it just made it worse. The only reason why I'm still using it is because I paid way too much to just throw it away, but I learned my lesson and never agaim will I use it.

Cons:

I have a 14 year old on proactiv, he was hoping this would help his acne as school can be hard when you are teased. IT DOES NOT WORK!! IT IS EXPENSIVE

I have spent alot of money on this treatment for my son thinking this product would help his acne which would make attending school easier without being picked on. What a waste of money

Pros:

smells nice, the face mask is great

Cons:

expensive, feels heavy.. etc. terrible

I thought possibly this could be my miracle product but, it wasn't. It didn't work for me, it just broke me out more because it is way to strong. As for my brother it worked for him but, after he stopped using proactiv the acne all came back. If you do something physical and sweat it burns your face and makes it irritated. My face felt completely oily. It can get quite expensive. You can surely try it but, for me i'll never be a customer again. Thanks to paid actors i've wasted good money.

This stuff does not work
it is expensive

They use lots of advertising to make it look appealing. They say it is the most purchased acne product but the only reason for that is all the advertising and celebrity endorsements. I used this for a while and it did not help me at all. Trust me if you have mild acne stick to a typical Benzoyl peroxode product. I use Oxy Maximum Strength 10% bp treatment 2 times a day and it works better than anything else. I also use Zap Zits for my T- line and for spot treatments.

3 steps twice a day.. sheesh - and it made my skin SO DRY!!

It did nothing for me but dry up my skin so bad I could barely move my face! But did nothing for the acne!

Pros:

It arrived just a few days after I ordered it.

Cons:

It dried my skin out, it smelled bad, it was really expensive.

It dried my skin out so bad that it was painful, and my face started to flake off, my cheeks turned bright red, and I actually looked old because my skin looked like leather. It felt like I had a really bad sunburn. I ended up going and buying some lotion and new face wash. Just a suggestion but I got Neutrogena Healthy Skin lotion spf 15 ($10.00), and pHisoderm ($4.00) (it's in a mint green bottle with a gold lid) you can get them at wal-mart and my skin has cleared up in about a week, dry skin and all for anyone who is still looking for something that works, maybe this will help you out. I used pHisoderm all though school and it has always kept my face clear. I will never suggest that anyone uses Proactive it was horrible!!!

Pros:

Product lasts quite a while. Worked great for 1st year.

Cons:

Stopped working almost to the day after I had been using it a year. Lotion wasn't very helpful, has acne treatment in it which I think dries you out even more instead of helping.

My acne is always around my jawline and chin. I tried a ton of other products and then decided to try Proactiv. I was warned by several people that Proactiv works for a while and then stops, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. It worked so great for the first year. My face was clearer than it had ever been. Then after my first year was up, it stopped working. My face is now back to how it was before. I waited a long time and then tried Proactiv again, and still no luck. I think that you just become immune to it.

dried out my skin
broke out even more than before
still breaking out even more than before 1 month after stopping product use.

i started using proactine to get rid of the occasional pimple. now i have even more than before. my skin looks ten times worse than it did before.i started using procative.
