Pros:

LIFE SAVER

Cons:

BURNS A BIT... YOU MUST USE IT AS DIRECTED

This stuff really works... just be consistent with it... believe me

Pros:

Truly does help acne

Cons:

Doesn't completely stop acne

I would still get breakouts, but it was MUCH less often while using proactiv. I think it's a great product, but am trying different options. Russell [link removed]

Pros:

It controlled most acne problems I had. All my big pimples and most of the painful stuff went away and never came back. I had pretty bad breakouts when I began the product and after a month, everything cleared up dramatically.

Cons:

Although it cleared up major stuff, I discovered that if I missed using it for a day I would have an immediate small breakout. I had to experiment with frequency of use, time of year, etc. until I finally found a daily routine that worked.

People's skin is different. I think that if Proactiv doesn't start improving your skin after a month or two, you should stop using it and look to other things. I also think that you should try different combinations. I've found that if I wash my face in the shower twice with the cleanser, rarely use the toner, sparingly use the moisturizer, and treat bad spots with hot water and facial mask before bed, I have fantastic results. It's really all about experimenting and finding what works. But of course, don't go out and mix prescription medicines or anything.

Pros:

proactiv works on miild acne- that's about it. that's the only pro. the people from proactiv don't take into consideration that not everyone has the same acne, and that not everyone will be helped by BP alone.

Cons:

face had more oil on it, the toner did remove SOME of the blemishes. the acne cleanser was too rough on my skin- and the clarifying lotion only made my skin oilier.

bottom line? don't touch your face. don't touch it no matter what. even when you're in class, at work bored, and want to rest on something? don't rest on your hands, DON'T touch your breakouts, i know it's tempting, to "check" how they're doing, if they're gone- NO. NO, NO. it's human nature to touch your eyes, your nose, and your mouth. THAT'S why we get sick. now imagine all that crap on your face? I'm still a teen, and I'm using Murad right now, as a last resort. I was one of those people that proactiv didnt work for, for whatever bloody reason. But I just thank that Im not one of those people that got cystic acne from using this product. I would've killed someone.

Pros:

Worked
Cleared Skin
Even Out Skin

Cons:

Little Expensive

When I was 19 I had mild acne to the point I started to not want to go out when it was bad. I tried proactive and it worked. In a month and a little it was almost all under control. I then slowed down the use because my skin was looking great. I had the odd break out here and there. Then I ran out of the product and used regular $7 face wash to control the acne. It kinda kept the acne away... for awhile. Now I'm 21 and the bad break outs were back again. Not as bad a before but enough to be embarrassed. Fed-up I thought I would try pro-active again...expensive. BUT in less then TWO weeks my light acne was gone. I don't have to wear make-up to bed at my new boyfriends house anymore because I feel comfortable again. Yes it dried out my skin if I used it to much. My solution? Skip a day or use it with a lotion. I used the 3-step guide twice a day. I have to be consistent with it even when the acne starts to disappear. There is no cure but this definitely prevents acne for me with proper use.

Pros:

Makes your skin feel smooth and light(if you use it right, not just blob as much on as you think you need). Redness dies down almost instantly after use. Appearance of skin looks smoother and balanced after use.

Cons:

Takes awhile for it to finally get rid of all your breakouts. If you stop using it, your skin breaksout alot, but then eventually goes away.

I've had Proactiv for about 2 years, I stopped using it because it took too long to make my breakouts dissapear completely. I finally started using it again and i'm going to let it do it's magic. Even if it takes awhile. I know my skin will eventually clear up if i consistently use it. I love the way it makes my skin feel. Your skin will feel tight if you use too much of it. Like steps 2 & 3. ( only use a moderate amount of step 2 and a very light amount of step 3 or your skin will feel extremely tight) OVERALL I love Proactiv, and can't wait for the results.

Pros:

-Skin feels really smooth
-Pretty quick results (few days)
-Reduction in pimple size and redness

Cons:

-TIME CONSUMING
-Makeup doesn't really sit well on top of it
-If you are inconsistent with "the regimen" your skin breaks out much worse than before.

If you are responsible enough to use it every morning and night at the same time I absolutely recommend it. If you stay out late or stay out w/ your friends I would try something a bit less high maintenance.

Pros:

Cleared my face up within a few days. Used it for 2 years and went from 1 to 2 large, under the skin cystic zits per month down to none! Saved my wedding pics, showed a nice clear face.

Cons:

My pores have gotten a bit bigger on my nose I've notice lately. They are clean, but bigger. I wonder if it's from the small granules in the cleanser?

If you have acne, try it. It worked for me. I'm 26 and have had large zits for 10 years. This stuff works.
