Poor Customer Service. Need to improve to keep customers.
They have the worst customer service department that I have ever dealt with. I signed up for membership on September 3, 2013 and was excited to receive my first shipment. I waited for 2 weeks and did not receive it, so I checked the order history and realized that I had my old address on it. The tracking number stated the package was undelivered and being sent back to proactive. I contacted customer service and asked them to send the package to my new address. My request was passed around to 3 customer service reps. They sent me an email on September 26 and asked that I need to sign The Affidavit Form and mail it back. This is unnecessary as the tracking number stated the package was undelivered, all they have to do is read the tracking status and understand it. I was VERY UNHAPPY that this is how they handle issue, however, I signed it and swear that I did not receive the package. Finally I received an email from them today October 17 that my order was returned to them and my account will be credited. I canceled my membership because this is how they treat their customers. They wasted my time and energy. Shame on them!

Dried out my skin

Cons:

Harsh for my skin
Expensive

Proactiv was too harsh on me and made my skin dry so I stopped using. I know that people have different reactions to products, so this may work well for others who can tolerate the harsh formula. But I do think it's too expensive. Seeing that the active ingredients listed are quite common and found in more affordable treatments, I think there's nothing special about Proactiv.

This did not work for me
I didn't want to believe that once you get off it, breakouts come back...well, they did...not good.

This is the worst treatment I have ever used.

Cons:

Chemically Burnt Face
Stings
Doesn't work after few weeks of use

I have had acne since the age of 12-13. Around three days before the school year started I did my normal shower routine. Srubba dubb dubb then get out and use my proactive. But on that day, the liquid stuff you pud on a cotton cleaning pad thing burnt my face more than it usually did. I instantly stopped and ran cold water over my face. I slept with ice packs on my face because it seemed that my whole left side of my face was an open wound (but not deep enough to bleed.) When i woke up the next morning nothing changed. School started on a friday the next day and my face stayed the same. It felt like I had rug burn all down my face. That night my mother took me to the doctor and they said put diaper rash cream on it. Then the next morning my whole face looked like shattered glass and the top layer of skin was peeling off and sounded like cling wrap coming off plastic when it did. It took three weeks to completely rid myself of those (as the doctor considered them) chemical burns. I have never used that crappy product again. I have multiple friends and even girlfriend who have acne from being mild to severe and they all even say this product may work for 1-4 weeks but after that it is just a hassle. I MUCH more recommend Benzoyl Peroxide face gel and got the generic brand from my pharmacy that is actually stronger than the name brand kind. Hope no one buys this product!

STAY AWAY

Pros:

Clears face

Cons:

CREATES more acne after stopping
Expensive
Harsh on anyone's skin

Stay away from proactiv if you do not need it! I used to use it and yes, it worked for a while but when I realized how harsh it was for my skin and found out about all the chemicals in it, I stopped using it. I had decent skin before but after? I started to get little bumps on my forehead, than on my cheeks than my entire face was covered with white heads. Than the big welts of acne started. I have spent so much money on trying to fix my face because of it. Proactiv is good for SHORT TERM use. A month maximum, and only if you have very bad acne. Than get off of it. It's honestly not worth it.

Pros:

none!

Cons:

expensive
ineffective

Proactiv and any of its knock offs do not work. Try zapzyt with moisterizer, its 1/4 of the cost and works in a week, where as you could spend $40 a month on proactiv and never really see results.

I just bought my first kit. In order to buy Proactiv automatically enrolls your credit card for auto refills to ship every 3 weeks. Before I could even print my receipt a online chat popped up. I asked that my c/c by taken off the account and I was told it was too soon I would have to call back and they ended the chat. I discovered that in order to use the site and purchase any items you have to be enrolled for the auto refills. Sorry, but that is a bad way to do business. Keep looking.

Cons:

harsh
dries you out

Worst product experience EVER. I'm sure it works for some people but it was simply awful for me. I didn't notice any difference in the amount of acne, but there was definitely an effect. My skin got so so so SO dry, to the point where my skin was tearing when I smiled. My face was burning and always painful. I want to throw something at the tv whenever their commercial comes on.

My skin got WAY worse
having nearly $100.00 stolen from my account for months after i called and canceled my "membership".

Proactive is insult and injury sent to your front door. - your bank account will be cleaned out - several times (after you cancel) - and you'll still have horrible skin to attend to. I had mild to moderate adult acne, mostly around "that time of the month". I ordered proactive, hoping for some relief. My skin cleared for a day or two then was notably worse in such a drastic amount over such a short period of time, my co-workers thought I was using meth from all the horrible huge acne sores/marks on my face. I stopped using the product after only a few weeks, and called and canceled my membership. 3 days later they charged my account (causing my account to be overdrawn due to the unexpected charge) and shipped me another package. i returned the package and believe it or not - the next month my account gets drained again!!! their response: it takes 4-6 weeks from the time they receive the return package before they will stop taking money from my account. I'm a single mom with a chronic rare illness and no family to make up for the money they have taken. The fact that they find it acceptable business practice to continue taking money AFTER i canceled my account and returned their horrible product, is just disgusting.
