Pros:

I made my face feel soft and clean.

Cons:

Did not keep acne away.

It may work for some people but may not for others. I have mild/moderate hormonal acne and used this product for a few years. It never kept me clear or kept acne from continuing to come.

Pros:

Cleared skin quickly.
Gentle yet affective.
Works well at reducing redness and minimizing blemish size.
Good customer service and consistent shipping.

Cons:

Dries out skin.
It works for the first few months but then u become used to it and it stops working as well as it used to.
Expensive!
The bottles run out quickly, they say use a pea size amount for your whole face! That's impossible!

Proactive did wonders for me at first but eventually it doesn't work as well anymore. It is very expensive and you run out easily but it's worth trying.

Pros:

Clears up your skin! smells good, and leaves your skin soft.

Cons:

None

I went to dermatologist religiously for 15 months for facial acne, and spent $2000 on treatments and doctor visits. I used all the products the doctor recommended. I was using prescription creams and taking 200mg of Doxycyclin (antibiotic) per day, and saw no results. Being very hesitant to try Proactiv, thinking if medication isn't helping, how could an over the counter product help me?! I used it for two weeks and it was a miracle worker, I can't remember the last time I had clear skin like this. The first week I used it, my acne became a little bit worst then before, and the second week it cleared up. I stopped going to the dermatologist and now using Proactiv twice a day. I love this stuff! My only regret is that I didn't use it sooner.

Pros:

it smells good

Cons:

-cost too much
-RUINED my skin

I used Proactiv before they changed their ingredients and it wasn't too bad. At the time I didn't have the money to continue it so I canceled my system. Recently when I heard that it was "new and improved' I figured I would give it another shot. When I ordered it I was under the impression that I would be making one payment of $35. That was not the case. The customer service representative (who was very rude, by the way) informed me that I would be making three payments of $34.95. From the start that irked me, but I still wanted to try it out. The system i ordered was the normal 3 step system, along with the Oil Free Moisturizer, Oil Control, and Refining Mask. When I started using the system I didn't get any side effects right away, but my acne wasn't getting any better either. I continued using it and pretty soon I could see my skin was getting dryer and dryer, redder and redder. After I would use the 3 step system, my face would be hurting so I would use the Oil Free Moisturizer (or the Green Tea Moisturizer, whichever I felt like using), thinking that it would minimize the burning of my face. WRONG. It made my face even MORE red and burn even more. I was so embarrassed about the way my skin was looking that I ended up walking around wearing sunglasses for the next 3 days. I would really really NOT recommend Proactiv to anyone. It definitely is not as great as people make it out to be. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Pros:

Well It actually did work for me for about 6 to 8 months...

As long as I was using it every day, and also taking the pills too.

Straight forward system.

Easy to use and apply

Started to see results after the 2 month mark

The ability to customize your order to suit your skin needs.

Cons:

After the 6 to 8 month mark I started to get really bad breakouts, and really bad dark circles on the sides of my lips and chin area

Well it worked good for about 6 months or so. But I think my skin just go use to it. After that my skin got worse and worse, so had to stop.

Pros:

-removed acne for a while and relatively quickly
-kept it away for a while
-moisturizer works and works as sunscreen

Cons:

-stops working as you build up a tolerance to it
-once you build up the tolerance, it actually makes your acne get worse

I needed a quick fix before my junior prom so I tried proactiv. I had about a week and half to play with, and it worked wonders. I was totally clear and thrilled after struggling with mild acne for a few months. I continued using it for 9 months and it worked great! I was completely clear except for the occasional pimple. I was used to flawless skin until my junior year started. hormones? I dont know. but I had some acne. In January, it seemed to stop working. I dont know if it was the "new" proactiv or what, but it wasnt clearing me up. I took a break, tried probably 4 different treatments (exposed, baking soda, la roche posay), and nothing worked as well as proactiv had. Finally, after trying Exposed for a month with mixed results, I figured I'd try Proactiv again. I was down south and working out a lot, where I'd sweat, and I thought the cleanser with the beads would help exfoliate my skin. I couldnt have been more wrong. After seeming to help the first week, the next two were a disaster. I just went in circles. A zit would start receding just for another one to reappear elsewhere. It drove me crazy. Now I'm frustrated as possible and don't know what to do....college starts in a month and I have no idea what I should do to stop this problem. I do know, though, that I"m done with proactiv

Pros:

Absolutely none.

Cons:

Unnecessarily dries out skin.
The cleanser and toner = crap.

Overall, this has to be the most absurd thing to ever be advertised. The cleanser and toner do little to nothing; you can get the same results from products you see on regular store shelves, if not better. The system as a whole needlessly dries out the skin, with or without the benzoyl peroxide medication, which, by the way, you can also see on regular store shelves for a fraction of the price and more the product amount. I had used this from 2008 to 2009... I do not know why I stuck with it for so long, when it did nothing for my skin. But it did do something TO my skin, and that was by turning my mild acne into moderate acne.

Pros:

Worked at first, and quickly too. It also wasn't TOO expensive for the starter kit, considering how much they give you.

Cons:

They trick you into a bunch of payments and keep shipping you stuff. Customer service is a pain, and they are pushy. The product stops working after a while, and my skin was literally burning. I bleached a brand new towel. All my pimples came back and then some.

Proactiv works for a while. It is really strong, though, and actually caused me pain from the burning I felt after using it for a long period of time. I've actually "graduated" to using it once every other day, and using a really, really gentle face wash the rest of the time. (Aveeno Clear Complexion) Between the two, it's a really good balance, and my acne is minimal, compared to being almost heavy after using Proactiv for two months. (Plus, I don't feel like my face is on fire.) It made it much worse. I don't quite get what the toner does, but I do see the need for a deep cleaning (hence the scrubbing beads in the cleanser) SOMETIMES, but not every day, or worse, twice a day! Youch! And I did like the repairing treatment; the refining mask is great as well, but it only adds to dryness/irritation if used alongside the other steps. Daily oil control is not needed, and the moisturizer is so-so. Not moisturizing enough for how badly my skin was burning/itching, but now, I don't really need it much because my skin is back in balance. Overall, not worth the price.

Pros:

Makes you feel like it's going to work....

Cons:

Wash irritates your skin because of those stupid beads..

Repairing lotion doesn't really work it makes your skin oily..

Toner is stupid and it makes your skin even more oily...

Just an ineffective product...

Proactiv = Negactiv Too costly... Just try Dans treatment if you havn't yet.. Proactiv doesn't work it's a waste of money because they only made the bottles smaller.. and they trick you into a 4 month buying plan where you end up spending $150 which is ridiculous...
